LOL You're wearing bandaids! I been playing with my two very first Vicky's (..) The Champ and the Outrider last weekend, and I have like 5 fingers that can tell... and wear the same outfit as your finger.

To use the spine of the saw to strike a ferro rod - open the saw, put a little bit of wood next to the handle, and close the saw back down on the bit of wood. You then have a very strong striker with no danger of it folding back on your hand.

You have excellent taste and skills! I too have the Outrider with slide lock, and I just LOVE it! The way that large blade just slices through a plastic band holding a bundle of firewood is so satisfying! For me, the contest was between the Outrider and the even bigger Hercules, the choice being having a slightly smaller and better grip on the handle or having the excellent mini pliers on the bulkier Hercules. I finally went for the streamlined feel over the extra tool, but now can't help regretting it slightly - I really would love having those derned pliers!

I use the corkscrew to help untie knots and to hold the eyeglasses screwdriver for obvious reasons. Good vid!

After nearly 10 years of having my huntsman as my default outdoors SAK, i have decided to experiment with the outrider. It eliminates the parcel hook and secondary blade (and pin which is not included) from the huntsman, but the outrider gives a very good grip while using the saw and the blade. Quite impressed. And a great video! keep it up!

Cork screw to hold mini screwdriver for glasses, electronics and for compass adjustments, to hold firefly tinder and untie knots. Very useful in the field, not so much used for drinking wine.

Being Swiss I've been tought to have a pocket knife with me since I was about eight. I feel naked without!
My urban EDC knife is an Evolution 14, outdoors it's a Ranger Grip 55.
The Victorinox Outrider is very close to the Ranger Grip 55. The main difference are the scissors and the phillips screw driver, which the RG doesn't have.
The corkscrew comes in handy when you try to pry open knots, as others have pointed out...

The cork screw is useless. It adds weight.

Thank you for the video. My edc is the outrider as my primary knife, the swiss champ as my toolbox (almost never leaves my pocket) and the allox pioneer with scissors as my gentleman's carry (used mainly for eating, both at home or in restaurants).
My entire family carries a Victorinox as their edc (size and type varries with their age - 7 kids ranging between 8 and 23).
Outdoors I add a garberg, opinel saw and a cold steel shovel as tools. I have, so far, no need for anything else.
When cycling I do add a Leatherman Rev.
Wow, that is the longest comment I ever wrote. 😉

That corkscrew is good for undoing knots in your boot laces. I think it's more useful in the woods than a Phillips head.

Also the Philips screwdriver position is better than central and I don't like the liner lock models,I'm thinking about purchasing this model for wildcamping on my motorcycle, great review regards from Ireland 😎

I carry my tinker everyday, and I use it almost everyday. I also have the camper. The corkscrew can be used to untie knots. I’ve been thinking about getting the trekker with the straight blade, I don’t like the one handed blade, I like the saw blade, it reminds me of my Opinel number 12 saw.

I had a choice between the older liner lock or the button slide lock version of the Outrider, and went with the older version. It’s just one less thing to go wrong in the woods. It’s a great tool set.

Linerlock adds rigidity to the knife being fully stainless steel liners instead of the aluminum....actually makes it stronger all together.
