As a previous Teaching Assistant to the Forest Mensuration class down at the OSU College of Forestry, I approve of this video! Nice work.
Thanks!
I harvested the first tree off my property , a big popular . Going the slab it up for trim in my new house . What a great feeling .
ALWAYS "learn somethin' " from your videos!! Great content and EXPLANATION of basic things we may have heard before. Like, deciduous trees falling to make room for evergreens. One of my friends (In eastern NC) just used some "store bought" Western Red Cedar to repair some rotted window frames. Very EXPENSIVE here!! Your kids and grandkids + future generations will be GRATEFUL for your "green" investment many years down the road!! Thanks, Jason!!
Great stuff man
2nd? I was watching the latest mine video :)
Wow. It’s been a while lol 👍

SUPER DUPER
You said around 07:14 that plot number 2 was probably heavy seeded and that could be why the diameter of the trees being same age as the others.
The diameter could also be smaller because under the top soil could be solid stone. So, roots are competing for root space. Nutrients in the soil also play a factor growing anything.
I like when I see a person who knows how to replant and which trees you can legally harvest.
Those Cedars are a great choice for mining timbers. They are strong and they smell good and also work as a bug repellant.
My YT Notifications was showing "S&J Forest Products" and I said to myself when did I subscribe to that channel? Then I see Jason at the beginning of the video. Not often seeing videos on this channel b/c Jason is involved in so many things.
Was another "learn something new every day" thing.
OG Englander here LOL Can you explain why you want the ducidius to die out and evergreen replace them? I understand as a generalisation that EG trees are quicker growing and a "more useable" comodity ? thanks Mike Kent England, UK
Is that little Bosch unit based on ir pseudo-range or gps?
Jason? JASON? How many of you are there and which one is this? Where do i learn this skill of cloning? :D
What's the economics on a property like that? Maybe you could explain that.
What can you cut. What can't you cut. What are the taxes. Is it a lease? Etc.
I guess the goal is to harvest timber but be a good Stuart so the property doesn't lose value.
