今回は海外育ちのフリーランスグラフィックデザイナーとして一日の過ごし方を撮ってみました。私はニュージーランド育ちの日本人で２３歳です。
オークランドからニュープリマウスと言う場所に引っ越し、新しい生活を始めて間もなくです。元フローリスト（花屋さんで働いてて）今は本職としてグラフィックデザインを頑張って先行してます。結構スローなペースですがボチボチとユーチューブにビデオを上げていきたいと思ってます。
この動画は朝ごはんやメイク、仕事前に何をするかがメインになちゃったかな？モーニングルーティンみたいな物ですね。でもちゃんと作業もしてる所も撮りましたので是非最後まで見てみてください！

Hello everyone!
I am a Japanese freelance graphic designer currently living in New Plymouth, New Zealand. I was born and raised in New Zealand, am 23 years old and consider myself to be introverted (like any creative tbh). I used to be a florist but now I am working towards becoming a freelance graphic designer full-time. I only recently moved to New Plymouth and am starting my new life in a new city. I hope to upload more videos gradually but I hope you enjoy and come along with me on my journey.
This video basically starts like a morning routine where I make breakfast, do my make-up and other things I do before getting to work. I've filmed myself working too so I hope you stick around till the end and let me know what you think in the comments!

As someone who’s about to start college in graphic design this fall I’m truly inspired by this. Maybe closer to 2030 I could move to Japan if I work hard enough all across the board who knows. Are there many graphic designers there? When I look up videos or even graphic designers on TikTok or ig there aren’t many that pop up oddly enough

Thank you!! ☺️ Yes, I went to study graphic design at university, specifically advertising and branding though. It was hard finding a job at first but once you get into the industry, all is good!

I am also a graphic designer and I always had this question, are tattoos a problem when you look for a job as a graphic designer in Japan? In western countries, tattoos are irrelevants when it comes to these kind of work such as graphic design.
I have some tattoos that can be hidden but I wanted to have my hands and neck tattooed. I don't know if it would be a problem to find a design job here in Japan even if it's for an international agency. Could you tell me what is your opinion on that?

I’ve never applied for a job in Japan but I think it will largely depend on what kind of company it is. International and newer companies might be more loose with tattoos but in general, tattoos are unfortunately still seen as taboo things in Japan so most people cover them up :(

I'm 22 and working as a freelance graphic designer right now. Hopefully I can work hard enough to afford to live in Japan as a graphic designer as well ☺ Seeing your videos kinda inspires me to keep working so i can reach that dream

Thinking of changing career-paths is always so scary… even in graphic design, there are a lot of different types of work so if you aren’t picky, then it shouldn’t be too hard to find, as long as you have the skills! For me, I was quite picky so it took a lot more work and patience to find my ideal workplace 😅 I’d also love to study/work in Japan too…

omg how much do you make to live in a home like this in japan? i heard the designers in japan earn so little that they can barely pay for very tiny one room apartments. i'm not sure most of the graphic designers in japan can live like you do.
Thank you for your comment! 💗 I’m just a Japanese designer (not based in Japan haha) hence why everything doesn’t look like Japan😂 but yes, I’ve heard it’s quite tough to live as a graphic designer in Japan - so much work, not much money or lifestyle.

I too, had a hard time finding jobs as a graphic designer… for me, it was about not being scared of putting work out there and naturally growing my network (through friends, family, colleagues or even getting to know a stranger). It’s a lot of hard work and patience, since I’m not a talkative type of person, but it eventually paid out for me and I am still practicing and exploring my social and design skills.
