- Some directors mellow as they get older, but not Spike Lee. After 40 years in the business, he is, if anything, angrier than ever and still determined to do the right thing.
Much of his rage is directed against President Trump, who he won't mention by name but will call plenty of names.
Lee's latest film, Black Klansman, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes, is a searing portrait of the toxic legacy of racism in America. It tells the true story of Ron Stallworth, a black Colorado Springs police officer who went undercover in the late 1970s to infiltrate the Klan.

Under Trump African Americans are currently seeing record low unemployment. In addition to that because of the deregulation already passed and the new tax structures for companies making America the most competitive country in the world for trade. Their economy is growing at 2% later in the year that could grow to 4% which hasn't been seen since Regan, and wasn't seen under Obama.

The most embarrassing part about the comments here is that there are so many accusations against Spike Lee suggesting that he is promoting hate. Anyone who is saying that either didn't watch his movie or has no ability to read film language. The film he made is about infiltrating hate, sharing a belief that hate on either side of race does no good. It is promoting the view that we are all human, and that anyone who segregates others due to their skin tone needs a reality check. Anyone who finds that offensive is obviously guilty. There is nothing wrong with reflecting on the past and reminding people of what has happened, after all it is history and no matter how much you want to, you can't change the fact that America (which is the country in question, it's not saying this hasn't happened elsewhere) is built on the lives of those who were deemed inferior to the white races. And people complaining because he's privileged due to his success, what's that about? He's used his fame to promote real issues that continue in our world today. He has a platform to promote the oppression of so many, so it seems idiotic to suggest that he's doing it for personal attention.
