I come for the information but stay for Steve roasting the current generation of kids lol.
Great podcast!
Love these podcasts and the emphasis on basics from Great Base. Y’all quickly mentioned a bunch of volley drills. I couldn’t follow most or many of them. Perhaps do a video showing all these volley drills?
Love it 👏🏼🎾😍 can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks, Lio!
What a great podcast on tennis... love the insights and anecdotes!
This is some good stuff.
Is the composite grip a continental grip that’s a bit more towards eastern forehand?
Yes
1:08:27 it's no more the problem with video games than with tennis. I can tell you from personal experience that I've had to put in just as much hard work and effort into drills to play csgo at a decently high level as I have to play tennis at a decently high level. The only difference between video games and tennis is that video games have much easier access to match play, and far more refined ranking and matchmaking system due to its online nature and their larger player base. So you can alternate much more frequently between drills and match play, but drills are an essential part of it.

And sure, there are plenty of people who don't drill and play video games. Just as there are plenty of people who don't drill and play tennis. Guess what? They both suck at what they do, but if they have fun who cares?
yes Andy muscles don't store memory. A few academic wrote to the ITF asking for corrections to a an article published by ITF and quoting ''muscle memory''. Maybe it's an embedded pattern ?
Hello Andy and Steve, the podcasts are the best sources of information for me. The information and story related experiences provide an interesting format.
Because I come from the same school of thought and have been influenced by some of the sources as the two of you. I hope that most listeners are following you in depth and aren’t getting lost in the sauce.
Keep up the high quality work.
so my dear friends Andy and Steve maybe continental grip is not perfect on FH volley ? tks
