Personally i can see a lot of ways this can go on: 1) one of them becomes a vampire(aka heretc hybrid) 2) they are put in a position where they have to merge so that one of them can survive or to save someone they love 3) one dies so no need for a merge 4) the series ends before 22 so we never find out what happened 5)they find a way to break the gemini cyrse 6) one is trapped in an other dimension 7)both die
And there's always so much going on in their lives and she is busy looking for a way😅 I mean I can understand it maybe because of the actor but it doesn't make sense in the series.

Personally, for me, this show is too light hearted, like they always find solutions for everything which is not realistic, there is no tragedy, no deaths, I love all the characters but that is what makes the show interesting to watch, not everybody gets a happy ending, like in tvd they murderer too many people there was too much loss and tragedy but here in this show it lacks, I really really hope that they will use this whole merge thing wisely because it is one of the best storylines in this show, and they can do soo much with it, but how the show is going, they probably will make this whole years long drama about it and then ofcourse Hope will come and magically out of nowhere find a solution to save the day, and everybody gets a happy ending. I don't know but honestly, it's just anoying at this point, like I know that nothing will happen and everything will go back to normal

I can't find a way to watch the second season of legacies but I see short videos on UA-cam of the second season Josie is my favorite character but now I can see that she became a bad guy I knew she was bad and I liked that but now i can see she even dont have a problem to kill lizzie so plese tell me if the josie that i love is still there or the dark magic change her forever

It doesn’t need to happen the only reason it’s happening is because Caroline’s actress didn’t want to do it, or wanted to take a break.
