"Soo I'm outa flat bar"....Proceeds to make his own. Tim you are the king of custom work, stand looks killer! Great to see the evolution of the shop. Would like to see a bit more real time work on the power hammer instead of all sped up. Your mastery of the power hammer is fascinating.
I think you need a big steel work table with a couple vises for angle grinding in your grinding room. You also need some kind of ventilation/extraction. Thanks for sharing, Tim!! Love these vids!! Best regards from the deep forests of Norway.
That stand looks so good, and the rust level is perfect, and yes, you need to make matching stands for EVERYTHING!!! 👌👌👌 Your work shop looks like it's destined to become one of the coolest places to work in this solar system. I find myself wishing that I was your neighbour 🤣🤣🤣
I'm so used to seeing "Made in China" when I saw "Made in Canada" on your hatchet boxes I thought you'd made a typo and spelt it wrong, so refreshing to see local manufacturing
If you do make the interior walls, you can always use the inside face of those for more storage for belts and things. I like the rustic look, but the flash rusting looks a little bright. Maybe you could darken it a bit to look a bit older with a little bit of oil. It might help protect it from the bad rust, too
Love the train rail stand! I've got a bit of rail on my shop just collecting dust. Plus I've got an unending supply of pieces from a guy who works in the rail yard. Knives coming up!
Very nice. Keep the theme going. I am not a big fan of the rust finish in general but this is your shop and you get to make it exactly the way you want it. Ha ha, I would powdercoat it to match the rest of my shop. That is my ridiculous obsession.
I was really shocked to see that first reveal of the rust on the top plate. Oh, and yes, it would look super cool to have all the stands in the "grinding room" to be the same style... but you should give each tool it's own unique stands, but all in the same style (eg, three holes/ one hole/ tons of little holes)
Timothy great videos man. Awesome job. Hopefully it last for many years to come my friend. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab on. Weld on. Keep forge lit. Keep making. God bless.
I would love an axe. They are too expensive for my ability to own one. But when I can afford one, I want a hatchet and axe pair. But I am a broke butt and will be for a minute. So I hope you keep making them for a while.
I'm not 100% on the red oxidation patina, I prefer a black oiled finish on my tool steel, but it's not my shop. I totally dig the look of the stand! Make one for me! Please? Ha ha. I like your presentation. Keep these videos comin'...
It looks good.... and you made it with what you had 👍👍. I do dislike the rust finish, though. I wonder, if the foot of the stand is big enough to keep it from tilting over, since you cannot bolt it down?
You can just put mustard on it too.. and it will make it rust fairly quickly with a neat pattern. Wipe on some apple cider vinegar or any other vinegar/ pickle juice.. whatever is around the house.
That Vashti pilot already has a 90° tip function included. (Although I have to rotate the motor on mine because the starting capacitor gets in the way, I didn't realize it when I set it up.....)
Hey Tim, if you are trying to speed up the rusting on steel using muratic acid. Apply some hydrogen peroxide after the acid, and you will get instant results.
Railroad rail is classified by its weight. So if that's 115/119 lbs rail every 3 feet is 115/119 pounds. That way we do the math when lifting with pettibone/crane when replacing rail or panels (rail connected to ties)
@@Bobs-Wrigles5555 no, i saw the video, I was being sarcastic & laughing when Tim muttered "Where is Martin when you need him?" just reminded me that we're due for an update on how he's doing
Vertical circuit breakers/fuse panels are an American thing, Canada, Uk and Australia use horizontal mounting, similar thing to which way you turn a light switch on/off, USA is up for on, most other places are down for on.

Loved the plea for Marten! Hahahaha!🤣 Great job on the stand, Tim!

That stand is so good, you should do some more architectural blacksmithing. I really love your channel 💜

Ventilation and light required.

Cool stand! I’d suggest keeping the buffer away from the grinders, last thing you need is grit in the buffing wheels
Only thing I think it’s missing is a bucket stand for cooling off material. The stand came up so good.
Excellent job, Tim....but i would be afraid the grinder falling to the side....danger ahead.

Too bad the pricing is in USD.

I doubt there are many people equipped with the tools and skills to make plate steel out of train rail in their home shop! 😂😂😂
Really nice stand!
Thats a really cool stand. It sounds crazy, but I’m pulling for you to have that shop how you want it one day. I think your whole channel will grow.
Tim. I like the goggles for your "look" or character. You pull it off well.
I always found the best way to get something to rust is to stand next to it and say, "Gee, I sure hope this doesn't rust..."
Sweet looking!
Man your editing has gotten nice.

A work of art, well done!
Really nice use of what you had. Looks dynamite as well. Great job Tim.

Looks grand!
Hey Tim, you can get the same rust affect by using vinegar or salt water 😊
I love torch cutting!
Oh yea , we have industrial in the house !!!
Thats using the ole noggin. Great video
Fantastic! Very impressive repurposing. :)
Yep you win, your stand is cooler than mine 👍
Man do u need a concrete floor. If I win the powerball tomorrow you’re getting a finished shop before the snow melts 👍
Hey! I saw those safety squints 7:38 :)

Tim you need to make some framing 🔨.
Timothy Dyck Blacksmith Extraordinaire 👊🦊👍
You could do two rows of belts.. One low and one high.
Ok now hear me out! An axe or hatchet, that looks rusty, dirty and old, but is not. A work of art. Your masterpiece, maybe!
Love the content always be safe
Muy buena y original idea 👏👏
Nice!
Made in America. Good job 😊. As usual.
Well, Made in Canada....
BAD ASS!
I thought lemon juice for the rust but whatever works. However, thoughts on putting a hinge on the top plate so you can swing the grinder 90 degrees?

Yeah cob. You’re missing a concrete floor for your grinding room!
Gun bluing followed by bleach will give a rust/aged patina as well
I've never seen a horizontal fuse panel

Something fucked up happens when your maker farms the work out.
You chould used hydrochloric acid to make a even brown rust on it
muriatic acid Is the American name for hydrochloric acid diluted with about 30%water
Has anyone from Australia successfully brought in a Axe with out issues?
Yep! You bet.
Don’t you get lonely in there Tim?
Where is Martin?
Tim moved 7 months ago, 1500 miles/Klm?
@@Bobs-Wrigles5555 So they broke up?
@@MrNeverseeme That would be one way to phrase it, the other would be that it's hard to maintain a long distance relationship😉😁
