Yeah you can play it for free. You still need to have a Nvidia account to use GeForce NOW but you don't have to pay for a membership. You'll have to wait in a queue to play (which will always take different amounts of time before it's ready) and you only get 1 hour each time. Of course paying would skip the queue and let you play for I think 6 hours without stopping.
You need an Epic Games account but you can make a new one if needed. The game isn't actually banned on Apple devices they're just not allowed to update it anymore. But because Geforce runs over the internet using Windows that means you're able to play Chapter 3 using a mac.

Nope, all you need is a web browser on the mac
so I can play for 1 hr a day or 1 hr is max time I can play
Once the hour is up you can queue again so you can play more each day. Just depends how long the queue is
