Thanks Ian. Great review, this was the wheel I ordered. I ended up changing to Sherman, as long distance is my thing to, 100 km days are not uncommon. Nice hardware, Kingsong has listened. Kingsong is more dedicated to safety as a ride for sure. This will be brilliant for those commuting short distances to work. Part of my still wants one as a "toy". Great reviews as always. I think it is safe to say a lot of UA-camrs, should take note of this, doing legit reviews and rides without scaring half of New York winding through all traffic, great job brother! Keep it up.
Nice review thx Ian.This wheel is easily the best looking at the moment but i think let down a bit by its battery capacity.Your review has helped me decide this is not the wheel for me .Sherman,Msuperpro or Monster pro ,Gotway ex are on the shopping list.
I have to be incredibly careful with my speech now a days, people have nothing better to do. Usually I get criticized for incorrectly saying 'specifically' due to having some issues with certain words. Also get criticized for saying a word *right* (or a sequence of words right), because the right words are said to often. Also I get criticised if I put km in KM in the title because this is not correct either. It always amazes me peeps have the time to even stop and write a comment on something such as this.....I mean its an EUC channel not a English lesson channel.

Merci for the answer , with the wheel on if you plug the charger does the wheel turn off ? If not then an external battery pack would adress the limited battery capacity of the wheel
Yes and no, it depends if you can charge at work / where-ever you are going. Also depends on how fast you are going. If going 25mph, it will do 20-25 miles per charge as per the videos. (be sure to checkout all 4!) PS: Also checkout www.ElectricPeople.org and join the community!
@@Speedyfeetuk How can we know if an external battery is possible or rather feasible to use? Because if it's feasible it solves my only problem for the wheel and makes it perfect for me. Btw thanks for the videos I am new to your channel and loving it so far. And will get my first wheel soon.
Yeah, mentioned in one of the previous videos, supposed to be fixed in the final release. (But I think the port is IP rated anyhow, not 100% sure on that as would need to ask the producer of said port for a data sheet).
Buses should be fine, its not massive in size, its quite tall though. It will not fit in a locker or anything like that, but it will fit under my desk in the office for example. Not sure if that helps? Pop on over to www.ElectricPeople.org as well and join the community we setup!
Glad you liked it. Wont be doing the latest version no (to costly and time consuming to do reviews this indepth, but with the adjustments it can only be better!)
Thinking really hard about upgrading my KS 16s (2000+ miles) to the KS-S18. Love your reviews! As an aside, which you may have answered elsewhere and if so I apologize, do you use a Skydio for the drone camera work in your vidoes?
Hi, could I ask you to compare the range of the S18 to the range of say an inmotion V8? (thought that might be better than just giving a figure that would depend on terrain and rider weight etc)
It will be similar to the V8F, although not a fair comparison as the KS-S18 of course goes faster, so when both are at top speeds the range is pretty much similar - only the KS-S18 will accomplish that at a higher avg speed. Pop on over to www.ElectricPeople.org as well and join the community we setup!
Roughly double the range. v8 gets about 14-17miles tops, whereas my tesla (similar spec to s18) I can get like 26-35ish :) this is riding both together with a friend. His ran out of battery where tesla still has 60% left.
As of now if i was to buy one from speedy feet would all of the changes that kingsong has made apply to the wheel if i ordered it? Or would i have to wait for current stock to sell out and for you to order new stock
Be interesting to see you do a facility tour. Why on earth do you have such a huge location? The heating costs seem prohibitive even if the rent is a deal....maybe there is something I am missing. Government subsidy?
When you say this wheel is good for 20 miles, do you mean a out and return journey of 40 miles from 1 charge or 20 miles total between charges for your bodyweight and riding style?
See video 1 for range test - video starts at the exact time here with this link I got for you: ua-cam.com/video/b-zvrMqhtqY/v-deo.html (26 miles with 10% remaining).
Many thanks Ian. I dont understand why in such an exciting time for EUC riders, rather than being grateful that someone out there is willing to literally do the miles to provide a series of insightful reviews they would focus on something as petty as letter casing in the title. (Sorry rant over). Q: did you play around with the suspension setting at all? I recall you initially went with a setting Kuji recommended but noticed in this video that the sag appears to be lower, and possibly why your blue rubber ring is right at the end of the travel? Ta.
Lol, agree, crazy people everywhere :) Left the suspension with original setup, I quite like the softer feel especially as I ride a lot of forest trails, it aided with the sudden bumps massively.
@@mehmetkaran998 may be brand, may be the way the suspension is delivered. V11 is more like a moving part attached to a conventional EUC whereas the S18 is more integrated. Are you in contact with Kingsong? Whats the actual socket size. Many people said that it has a standard socket size but 165 x 35 is not standard. Its 165 x 38. Most good shocks come with a bigger stroke... I wonder if its just gonna be a fail and you cant even put a good shock on this thing. :(
@@eveoff have you seen the "How to set up the S18 Suspension". Posted by Future Transportation on UA-cam. The guy looks to be a Kingsong employee and he says the max travel is 50mm. Also somewhere I've read that the shock is DNM 38RC and the only 50 they do seems to be 190 x 50. Edit. The DNM 36RC with the double chamber on the pre production came in 3 sizes, 165, 190 and 200. Also it is the eye to eye measure that dictates if the shock will fit. So EVEN if it is 165x35 it will still fit. The 3mm travel difference can easily be sorted by the pressure in the chamber
Short answer: can you get 'fish tailing' yeah (in kind of the same way as the 'tank slap' on heavy braking discussed in this video and in depth in video 1). More indepth answer: Yeah you for sure can get that, but its kind of rare, with the rear cam shots offroad (close ups) my upper body is twisted whilst holding the cam equipment and also viewing a screen/phone to ensure the wheel is correctly framed; this certainly doesn't help the ride. (For an example, a test to show what I am on about: ride along normally then bed over to turn on the light / any light on a wheel, and that change of posture causes a tank slap.....not in every single case..but you get the point, in a lot of cases it does due to your body being all out of sorts).
