I believe that the screaming is actually just to make the instruction a bit more fun, though he is also emphasizing the importance of the points he is making. I say this as a Japanese speaker. BTW, the guy doing the English translation does a great job!
@@aarnt09 I'm pretty sure he is there to make sure they learn more from Sakuraba. Bernardo and Craig hit the techniques on each other to make sure they understand it both. The whole instructional is kind of hilarious and very well made.
Just hit this yesterday in practice, I got the grip while in my partners half guard but this happens enough to where the people at the gym know how to defend the kimura/double wrist-lock. I slowly turned it into the straight arm lock and got the tap!
Kimura? Do you mean double wrist lock? Just messing with you. Sakuraba learned it as a catch wrestling technique so he would have heard it called a double wrist lock. It’s called a Kimura in BJJ after a man of the same named used it to tap out one of the Gracies.
Con Cahill tap out force to submit same concept. You are correct though Helio’s pride wouldn’t let him tap even though he was beaten. Same as Saku vs Renzo the ref had to call that one.
I wish I could ask him if he always uses the thumb in the grip. I’ve recently switched from the grip with the thumb to the monkey grip and I feel much stronger with it and it doesn’t kill my thumb joint. Any opinions? Is it just personal preference?
The monkey grip is rarely used in Catch Wrestling. Sakuraba learned the double wristlock (Kimura) from the late Billy Robinson. In catch you would usually grab lower on the lower wrist, almost at the hand.
Bro thumb on top is the true way do what is right not what is always . Thumb on top is the master way thumb on bottom is sure show ignorance with this technique
I have never seen the point in using a monkey grip but do what you want and I have never not finished a kimura either, if I lock the figure of four it’s a done deal. According to Danaher it doesn’t matter, it comes down to personal preference
Ironically, all this argument about what to call it, when it was named after Masahiko Kimura, who was most famously a judoka, but more importantly he was also a catch wrestler. The whole reason Kimura was in Brazil in the first place wasn't to fight any Gracies, it was as part of a pro wrestling tour of South America. And Jigoro Kano got the ude-garami from the Western grapplers anyway. Doesn't matter what it's called, the important thing is that the term you're using is recognised by the listener.
I do a version where I get double wrist lock when my back is taken, then I turtle, from there I shoulder roll, as I roll I extend the arm out of the opponent, like Sakuraba does in the video, the lock comes on quick and people tap fast, its quite the painful submission.
We have one it’s called give Renzo Gracie your back then break his arm with a double wrist lock or Kimura if you prefer. Though Kimura didn’t invent the lock he got it from catch wrestling.
IDK WHO this gimmick company pumping out all these web series instructionals is, with the same lame graphics for everyones course. This same video is in his other web series Kazushi Sakuraba - Submission Before Position Vol. 1.

why is he screaming? whats wrong with him? seems weird even by Japanese standards
NW Oista Are you not paying attention when the translator almost laughed, when Sakuraba said something to him, and Sakuraba laughing also? It is apparent Sakuraba is joking around.
The four downvotes are from the Gracies he humiliated.
5 months later there are still 4.

Already been two years....
😄😄😄 they will never admit defeat 3 years later
4v4
There's 4 people in this video.
vs those Gracies XD
I like it when sakuraba yells.
When he yelled in the middle of the video, the translator laughed hahahaha
kkkkkkkkkkk

@@henryscheyvens6931 I got that, and yes it really makes it more fun to watch
Those born in the 90's or later don't realize who Sakuraba is. He is a living Samurai. Priceless piece of video!
yes.. he fought a lot of fighter that far beyond his weight... ball of steel
a samurai who enjoys the finer things in life. i love this guy.
Born in the 90's?
Fuck outta here.
82.
I lived in Japan and fought.
Fuck you talkin about 90's?
The man single-handily took out the gracie family. Legend.
My mind is blown that I just got to watch this.
I came here to learn Double wrist lock from the master, and instead learned a new way to do a Straight Armbar. Good stuff.
I came to the comments just to see if there where some catch wrestlers calling it by the real name. The double wrist lock🤣🤣🤣☝️☝️☝️ my man
The double wrist lock is very very versatile and can be used in lots of different ways even just for simple control. It’s very good!
This is a really weird video. The yelling, some random masked translator, and Craig Jones.... really weirds set up lol
sakuraba is a funny dude...he likes to joke around and add a bit of comedy to his training!!!
Yeah, what is Craig Jones doing there lol

@@aarnt09 learning from the legend
Greatest MMA fighter of all time. Sakuraba is a legend!
Sakuraba is a living god.
You know that sir
Wow, instructions from the man himself! Thanks 🙏
Three great grapplers and Craig Jones
Just hit this yesterday in practice, I got the grip while in my partners half guard but this happens enough to where the people at the gym know how to defend the kimura/double wrist-lock. I slowly turned it into the straight arm lock and got the tap!
Wonderful to see this legend still having fun!
Video should be called "Graig jones watches masked translator explain Kimura.
Sakuraba the 🐐
Jeez Saku take it easy! So intense! Haha awesome video though. Three legends and a masked translator!
Can't believe this only has 30k views, gold
Hello I would like to know where to rake courses from Kazushi Sakuraba? Which city, which club? If you have any answer I would be glad.
Thank you.
Thank you!
The masked transler is just wearing sak's t-shirt on his face
Catch as catch can! Gracie Killer!
I see Saku I hit Like
So funny how this samurai yells out his instructions. Love it boss
When he locks onto your arm and screams something in Japanese, you know you're about to have a bad day.
Saku is the best love how he'd always let people get his back and the he kimura'd them for a takedown or finish
Kimura? Do you mean double wrist lock? Just messing with you. Sakuraba learned it as a catch wrestling technique so he would have heard it called a double wrist lock. It’s called a Kimura in BJJ after a man of the same named used it to tap out one of the Gracies.
Helio didn't tap so Kimura broke his arm twice and almost a 3rd but Helios corner threw in the towel.
Con Cahill tap out force to submit same concept. You are correct though Helio’s pride wouldn’t let him tap even though he was beaten. Same as Saku vs Renzo the ref had to call that one.
The legend!
@2:51 Hahaha bet Bernardo thought he was about to lose his elbow there
Hahahahaha man I laughed when he did that 🤣
Double wrist lock

Sakuraba is a catch wrestler. Therefore, don´t call it a Kimura, it´s a double wrist lock.
Even sakuraba calls it the kimura, so...? Same same

Even more ironically is that it's real name is like gyaku ude gurami.
Absolutely a no. Including Sakuraba himself and Fujiwara, this move is simply called “armlock” in the Japanese pro wrestling circles.
Schooled the Gracies!
I do a version where I get double wrist lock when my back is taken, then I turtle, from there I shoulder roll, as I roll I extend the arm out of the opponent, like Sakuraba does in the video, the lock comes on quick and people tap fast, its quite the painful submission.
I wanted this in a physical dvd and apparently it doesn't exist. Some people want a physical dvd not a dumb digital download. Collectors still exist.
that's catch wreastling for ya
SAKURABA 🔥🤼♂️🥋❤
What a fucking legend
Bro I can’t help but think of Danny McBride saying “I call him Channing taint yum” with the mask on lol
If I was Craig Jones sitting there, I’d be secretly fanboying in my head being that close to the Gracie Killer ngl
SAKURABA SAMA!!!!
He is translate what kazushi is saying
Sakuraba is the lock engineer!, He's true follower of Bruce Lee because he combine everything...
Of all people to have a huge honour for, this man is one of them.. I'm a little disappointed Bernardo
in the meantime saku is still on top of bernardo in the same position.
true samurai 2:50
It'd scare the shit outta me if he started screaming like that while he had the arm-bar on.
We need a SAKURABA move
We have one it’s called give Renzo Gracie your back then break his arm with a double wrist lock or Kimura if you prefer. Though Kimura didn’t invent the lock he got it from catch wrestling.
ude garami
LOL wtf! This video is as legendary and weird as Sakuraba himself...welll...almost...
Really like bernardo farias though he sometimes sounds like that muppet osss

Too much punches in the head... No disrespect I love Sakuraba but he is kinda crazy
He's frustrated with the poor translation
He's angry coz Bernando called it a Kimura instead of it's real name: Double wrist lock.
He’s just having fun
