"This is a biased review". Honestly, mad respect for you admitting this at the beginning of the video! I understand some beauty gurus are friends and/or have brand affiliations so I know some reviews will be biased but it's so refreshing to hear someone be honest about that from the get-go!!

Yes. I appreciated that when James first put out the video about his palette and being honest about the different types of shadows in the palette. Honesty is much appreciated
Agree! Other beauty gurus that are friends with the creator of the pallet they are reviewing typically say "she/he is my friend but im still going to give my honest opinion" or they say nothing at all...like Jaclyn did. Tati has integrity and I trust her reviews the most. She gives zero shits and I love that.

@@anablazevic4706 Biased meaning like favorable to. Tati is friends with James and she admitted that her review would be biased so she's admitting that she already will like it and be less harsh about the palette even before she tried it just because it was made by a friend.

I have an interesting video idea for you Tati, since you mentioned in the video that you can tell if an eyeshadow performs well just from touching the shadow, what about buy some new makeup, blindfold yourself and touch the shadows and give a prediction if you’ll like them or not, and then use the palettes on your eyes, give your opinion again and then see if you predicted correctly

I just want to say that I thought it was SUPER REFRESHING to finally see a beauty guru/influenster upfront admit their review is going to be biased because of their connections to the person/product. KUDOS!

TyLynn I find that very wrong. If this wasn’t her job and considering how much impact she has on the sales or beauty community. She builds her channel base on honest and no bias. Now she just disregard her own standpoint. And again. I only say this because this is her job.

Chonlada W. On the other hand, it is great to know that Tati knows when she is being biased or not, which to me boosts her credibility. This video is clearly an exception to her hundreds of videos and I applaud her honesty.
Hannah M I see your point. Thank you for replying in such a productive way. I do understand being close and wanting to support them. But Tati herself has been so proud of herself (I’m so proud of this too)that she doesn’t care who you are or what company it is. She will review the product with honesty always! But doing this (with or without disclosing that this is biased) still disregard the her honesty. She herself said giving a negative review doesn’t mean you are saying bad things about the person who created it. Now it kinda proof that she is and will be biased if a product is from her peer groups. Hope you get my point.
nature.mallow Agree on being honest with it. I respect her for stating clearly. It says a lot about her. Though it doesn’t change the fact that she disregards her slogan for herself and her channel of being honest that she seems to have been praising.

When you are talking about how you can feel whether a shadow is good or not just by texture, you should make a challenge out of that! Take palettes that you do and do not perform well and blindfold yourself to try and determine whether it is a good shadow or not. I think that would be fun 💕

Actual Trash LITERALLY SAME!
For everyone confused about how some of the shadows are patchy. Watch James video about his palette. He explained in his video about the palette, that a few of the shadows are pressed pigments. They don’t swatch well because they have a different formula. He also said they need to be built up a lot to get the best look. James explained the specific way to use the shades in the video as well.
Also he said that the colors he had to swatch more than once weren't as pigmented because they're transition colors. Totally makes sense!
@@crisscrossapplesauc Exactly I don't understand how some people who I'm sure have had a decent amount of time with make-up by now still comment on these issues. Why would I want an intensely pigmented transition? Patchy is one thing, and pale or understated is another

I love that the name of the white is Flashback. James Charles has been through a lot of ups and downs and his career, and this is his first palette! He does not discredit how he got there, he puts his whole story into this palette. Even referring back to flashback Mary. I think it's very Noble and beautiful. It's his story, The Good The Bad and the sister snatched!
