I love the little aurora borealis. Also I remember on og MW3 I had a Moab but someone called their emp in immediately and it canceled my animation. The final killcam was hilarious
B2s have shielding as someone else said, A10s can fly by wire so it would make sense that they aren't destroyed but i dont know if the gun trigger is analog. Mortars also wouldn't be stopped by emp
Pretty sure most of the A-10 is analog. They didn't even have proper magnification when they were first rolled out, and pilots had to use binos to see targets
It is probably not stopping care package choppers, the carpet bomb plane and the airstrike, because these vehicles are not coded as vehicles. They are probably just a entity in the code where the vehicle flag is missing. That is probably also the reason SAM and Lock On Rocket Launchers can't target these.
EMP feels kinda underwhelming in MW3 as opposed to the original EMP. It used to disable basically everything including HUDs and optics, even between lives for about two minutes. Now it feels like a one-and-done thing you use simply just to disable a currently-active killstreak and nothing more. However, it's fun that it absolutely nukes a Swarm. Between lives, you'll immediately get a swarm if you use it to counter another swarm lol, but only if the EMP detonates after all the drones are airborne.
Yeah, that's a real fundamental flaw with the EMP. It seems like they want it to function like a counter to the Advanced UAV, but if your opponent has an AUAV, it's very unlikely that you have an EMP on hand lol. The main thing I use the EMP for is just to laugh at the enemy team's complete confusion as to who is friend or foe. On Shipment it's hilarious because you'll see enemy players all scrambling to shoot each other or get away from each other, or you'll find enemies who don't even notice that you're hostile and will walk right past you. It's a good laugh.
I feel like the Air Patrol was a more balanced version of this streak. Was way easier to get but could be countered by another Air Patrol and only destroyed air steaks.
I have a realistic reason as to why the emergency airdrop doesn’t get effected by the emp like the regular care packages, it’s probably because the chopper is carrying multiple packages via a physical cargo rope, whereas the regular packages are carried directly under the chopper via a magnetic pad/plate. Obviously it could also just be screwy code but hey it’s good to speculate.
Weird, I have definitely destroyed a Swarm with an EMP & it gave me like +5500 score for my streaks (as I had died before calling in the EMP). unsure if the swarm dive bombed my teammates like in the video & I just didn’t notice or what.
Remember in modern warfare 2(The original) when the EMP goes off in the campaign and your radio and all your red dots stop working and all the lights go off and it really makes it feel like the world is going to hell. That was a good Time. I kinda wish the EMP in multiplayer did similar stuff, so turn of the hud and kill electronic sights and turn of all the lights so indoor maps become much darker.

Ope, 5:12 I guess you can use it to steal care packages & jugs? Takes a while to call in but if you were listening to the announcer that might be worth trying for the top-tier jug.
In the game Insurgency Sandstorm when you call in a chopper, the crew of the chopper stays in constant communication on the radio and calls out targets and everything they see happening. Like if someone shoots an RPG or machine gun at them they will point them out. And when they get shot down you hear them freaking out as they fight to crash land it and survive. Its really cool and I wish CoD would do that.
B-2 Spirits (the carpet bomber) are resistant to EMPs, but so are a good number of other aircraft. I suspect its a little bit of balance combined with favoritism for the B-2 that makes it impervious to interference in-game
The Issue I always had with the EMP was if you or someone on your team is doing well enough to get one. Chances are the enemy team doesn't have anything useful for you to knock out. Unless of course you got in a care package, or they got something good in a care package.
Do i need to point out that the stealth bomber is fully capable of transporting and dropping nuclear bombs... it would have to be able to survive the EMP from that nuclear weapon.
emp is definitely a nuke aid. enemy has a gunship and your abt to get a nuke, easy way to counter it to finish out your nuke. a lot of the inconsistencies can be explained away tbh. precision: first plane can go but second one can’t communicate due to emp and hence cannot align for the strafe run. guns are mechanical so the first plane can still use it care package: deployed electronically, same with SAE bomb-bay doors, while the other one is a mechanical hook. stealth bomber: bomb bay doors already open, bombs are then deployed mechanically(?)
A fun thing is if an enemy calls in an EMP in hardcore mode, it takes away all nameplates and killfeeds meaning there is no way AT ALL to be able to identify who is a teammate or enemy, resulting in many team kills, and eventually ricochet damage self kills! (unless you somehow know every skin for every character and what team they relate to)

I think it's the same animation that plays if the chopper gunner is shot down via the rear rotor instead of the front of it, I remember it having multiple death animations similar to how the AC-130 Gunship does based on if it was destroyed by explosives or bullets EDIT: Went and checked, explosives cause the second animation (identical the the EMP one), bullets cause the one where the pilot is shot.

When the swarm runs out of the battery or gets EMPed all the drones remaining in the sky just dive bomb the ground me and my friend were messing around with the warm a few times and Every time The swarm was about todie and the one was outside they just dropped
They should let the mgb be destroyed and have there be some kind of reward for doing its kinda of annoying to start a match and within 2 minutes someone calls in a mgb

The nuke is so oped it cannot be negated by the enemy Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) unless kill the player who is planning to call the nuke because its unaffected by everything. 😊
I’m annoyed that the EMP turns off the mortar strike. Like that is literally the most analog thing we use! There is no electronics in the mortars, so once the coordinates are locked in thats it. They will keep sending hate till told to stop. Literally it is just a tube with a striker, that hits the primer in the mortar shell to launch it out of the tube, then the nose of the mortar is pretty much the same thing. Upon the nose hitting a hard surface it strikes a primer that then sets off the main explosive charge. It’s all just shit smacking into other shit for a mortar to work. SO WHY DOES AN EMP WORK ON IT?!
Modern mortars use electronic fuzes with built in radar in order to detect proximity to the target. This way they can be used as air burst munitions or penetrating munitions as needed, instead of always blowing up on impact. It's been the NATO standard for mortar since sometime in the 80's. So there is some electronics in there that an EMP could potentially fry.
@@bioforce5 even so, I would assume the military forces of NATO would have the regular kinetic firing as a backup in the mortar incase of EMP situations, that way they don’t have just a bunch of duds laying around waiting to be repurposed into the kinetic versions. Granted, the only way EMP’s are able to be made is via a nuclear blast above a target. Which we all know how the world would respond to such a device being launched in the first place.

Here's a fun Myth: The VTOL can kill with with impact during it's death animation.
