I used to think the same...but then I heard Mew as Tharn singing the ost acoustically tov Type (Tharntype) and then Sun singing at the camp to Sky in Golden Blood and its just beautiful and necessary to the plot...much like this scene.
what i love about this episode, kuea(nunew) is actually singing, his voice is so beautiful and the lyrics match the situation so well. you can feel his sadness and pain through his voice and micro expressions, the swelling of tears in his eyes, his lip quivering slightly and the swipe of that tear drop. its small actions like this that makes this scene so realistic and relatable, no need for screaming and shouting in tears in public to show heartache, just calm acceptance that he isnt loved and wanting to break away while still being held back by his own emotions
Cutie pie has got the best plot so far. Like they aren't dragging anything, things being cleared turnwise, this is just amazing. Edit: once a genius man, choi beomgyu said, "you can win against a genius but never against a stupid."
I hope Hia will start understanding Kuea more after listening to that song , since he put all his heart, feelings , emotions in it , i could of feel it all like it was about me , he's a very good performer since he delivered all his emotions to us , i even cried a bit (🥲🥲🥲) I'm touched by the efforts of this serie .I just love it , waiting for more as always .

Guilt and understanding... I think because his fiancé was a good deal younger than him prehaps he didn't take the feelings the other had for him so strongly, and since kuea usually portrayed happy go lucky or either just pouted a bit. Seeing him sing and really let out all he thought and felt forced Lian to truly see his man.
The acting is good that It doesn't feel cliche and forced at all, the cinematography, the music choice, the chemistry, the comedy is on point, everything is A+.

Honestly if I was in that position I would question too whether Kuea really loves me. Yet...we can totally understand the pain of Kuea as well. All through the song we can clearly see that Hia Lian's eyes are shining....like he's on the verge of tears but holding back. I feel like it was through this song that, for the first time, Hia Lian actually felt that Kuea genuinely loves him. we could all feel Kuea's heartbreak and tears. I usually skip scenes where a character is singing. I feel like they are usually slow and take away from the plot. But I sat and watched Kuea's whole performance. I'm impressed with NuNew's singing, and his ability to really convey Kuea's emotions through the performance. I really liked that scene.

One of the best songs I've heard in a BL series with lyrics that, as always, reflect the singer's personal circumstances... and he sang it beautifully too. It was also a revelation for Hia Lian who was sitting inconspicuously in the audience.
So NuNew is so talented for real? He's not just a handsome guy who can act for the first time but also can sing? 😍 Love this scene, you can see their emotion for whatever reason they are in a complicated relationship.
I like this scene the most tbh. I feel like hia lian wanted to see the real kuea and he knew he is kirin but at the same time, he feels the sadness because kuea is now serious of disengaging from him. I honestly think he loves Kuea but he chose not to care or nurture that love since he became so confident of kuea's love to him and that he will never leave him.

Nunew's vocals are absolutely beautiful. I love that this production is allowing the cast to be involved in soundtracks for the series. The painful glances from both Kuea and Hia tells a story of love and longing. I'm also so curious about Hia Yi and Diao's story
See, I don't think it's that Hia Lian doesn't love him. He just doesn't want Kuea to put on a false self in front of him. He wants to have all of him. Not just one side of him. This is such a good series so far, and we are only on the second episode.
I 100% agree. When Hia Lian saw kuea listening to music he seemed more interested and intrigued by his actions but then felt disappointed when kuea went back to acting normal. I think the real issue is that Hia Lian doesn’t want to marry someone who acts like a humble servant with the “anything for you” mentality. I hope that now that kuea and kirin are slowly starting to mix, everything will start to be resolved.

As a closeted gay who's afraid of coming out, I can genuinely relate to Kuea. It's like his character was made to represent my life and my struggles. Like him, I also wear a mask every single day to hide my true self because of the fear of judgment from other people. And the song's lyrics are so meaningful and emotional that I didn't realize that I'm actually crying with Kuea the whole time. I know it's just acting but NuNew nailed the song so perfectly like as if it was something personal. I felt like I was invading someone else's private life because of how raw and personal the emotions are, that he incorporated into the song. I have never felt this strong connection with a character before, and I'm literally so invested with the show already.

I don't think he is controlling tho maybe a bit over protective. But Diao himself said that he never scolds him which makes him scarier. That's why he cried when he scolded him for lying. Diao loves Yi very much and gets easily affected by him.

Gosh...both of them are hurting cuz of their lack of proper communication. All through the song we can clearly see that Hia Lian's eyes are shining....like he's on the verge of tears but holding back.
I feel like it was through this song that, for the first time, Hia Lian actually felt that Kuea genuinely loves him. we could all feel Kuea's heartbreak and tears.
All this while Hia Lian has been a regular to all of Kuea's shows, knew his identity as Kirin. I believe he was just waiting for Kuea to open up that side of himself, instead of Hia Lian questioning it and forcing it out.
Exactly, Lian wanted Kuea to voluntarily be transparent with him so he didn’t confront him about his latent lifestyle.

I usually skip scenes where a character is singing. I feel like they are usually slow and take away from the plot. But I sat and watched Kuea's whole performance. I'm impressed with NuNew's singing, and his ability to really convey Kuea's emotions through the performance. I really liked that scene.

NuNew played the whole song...and it was so touching. The song conveys his feelings. There's deep meaning...how he has to change himself to suit his better half...but he doesnt want to change anymore and give his love to the one who accepts him wholeheartedly...and his acting...Hats off Nunew, you did a great job being a rookie.
We can see how guilty and broken Lian feels after hearing Kirin sing the song...he understands all those pain behind the song.

One of the best songs I've heard in a BL series with lyrics that, as always, reflect the singer's personal circumstances... and he sang it beautifully too. It was also a revelation for Hia Lian who was sitting inconspicuously in the audience.

I like this scene the most tbh. I feel like hia lian wanted to see the real kuea and he knew he is kirin but at the same time, he feels the sadness because kuea is now serious of disengaging from him. I honestly think he loves Kuea but he chose not to care or nurture that love since he became so confident of kuea's love to him and that he will never leave him.

See, I don't think it's that Hia Lian doesn't love him. He just doesn't want Kuea to put on a false self in front of him. He wants to have all of him. Not just one side of him. This is such a good series so far, and we are only on the second episode.
I 100% agree. When Hia Lian saw kuea listening to music he seemed more interested and intrigued by his actions but then felt disappointed when kuea went back to acting normal. I think the real issue is that Hia Lian doesn’t want to marry someone who acts like a humble servant with the “anything for you” mentality. I hope that now that kuea and kirin are slowly starting to mix, everything will start to be resolved.

I have cried so much when kuea was singing,The song is so...powerful and touching,The voice is amazing.I can relate to it.
As a closeted gay who's afraid of coming out, I can genuinely relate to Kuea. It's like his character was made to represent my life and my struggles. Like him, I also wear a mask every single day to hide my true self because of the fear of judgment from other people. And the song's lyrics are so meaningful and emotional that I didn't realize that I'm actually crying with Kuea the whole time. I know it's just acting but NuNew nailed the song so perfectly like as if it was something personal. I felt like I was invading someone else's private life because of how raw and personal the emotions are, that he incorporated into the song. I have never felt this strong connection with a character before, and I'm literally so invested with the show already.

I don't think he is controlling tho maybe a bit over protective. But Diao himself said that he never scolds him which makes him scarier. That's why he cried when he scolded him for lying. Diao loves Yi very much and gets easily affected by him.
