Designing your own home can be daunting. Many who do so would be afraid of playing around with too many materials or styles, but Jolene and Yi Peng has managed to pull it off with different materials and styles around the home! We especially like the snug reading nook, it's a great use of that corner of space. Which part of your home is your favourite? Share your thoughts in the comments below! This is my favourite one thus far - the kitchen, reading nook and office space did it for me. I loved how they decorated it and the colours they chose - PERFECT! Thanks Stacked Homes again for another beautiful home :)
Finally a house that really feels like a home we all wanted to see. No cookie cutter design that only ends up looking like everybody else house. Just nice and simple especially with plants too.
They couldn’t even if they wanted to. The HS cannot be knocked down cos it’s structural and the bathrooms can’t be hacked cos of the piping too. Did you see the floor plan? Lol. 0:35
Relax dear! I’m just saying it’s refreshing. I haven’t seen a traditional closed kitchen being featured online for some time now. If you’re concern that I didn’t see the 0:31 floor plan, don’t worry, I studied it well to say it is similar to what I live in. Lol. 5rm point blk owners deserve some inspiration too. Especially from this unique home. I love how they dedicate a reading nook in their living rm space n the glass window peeking through the common room 😊
This house is a perfect reflection of who they are, their interests, experiences and their relationship. You can tell from the way the look at each other and how they talk about their space, their home has cultivated their love for each other more.
Nicely put Sarah. I'm happy you brought out that connection between them. It's one thing to have a nice home, and another to have someone you can really cherish it with 😀
You did a superb job decorating your home. It is really chilled, really peaceful & relaxing! Really great job! Congratulations! And it is great to see you both so loving & affirming to one another! All the Best to both of you!!
It's a beautiful house. honestly one can tell if the owner been places, those very cosy bookshops overseas can be quite inspiring when planning for home designs. and all those artworks added character to their place. I love that huge painting, good choice. definitely doesn't look like a typical theme-perfect showroom within a magazine spread, I can imagine myself living in there.
Hi Stacked Homes, thank you for another good show of unique homes. I think every home owner featured in this channel have a very personal view of how they want to live thus how they design their home. Home is a very special place so the saying goes, "There's no place like home". Good for them!! Right, on another note. I have a question, how did they manage to have so many beautiful potted plants in their house? Yes, I gather that they are indoor plants. And plants need light. I want to know how I can also KEEP indoor plants. By the way, I live on the HDB ground floor. Would appreciate any advice. Best wishes. : D
Guys, how do you search all the homes u featured in your videos? All of them has it's own unique vibe. I cld see a touch of bohemian here. The plants around the house added some freshness. As always, thumbs up 👍👍👍
I tend to think that mid-century designs in Asia are quite different from those in the West. It's a term that ambiguous. Here, it looks like a throwback to the mid-60s and 70s - a clean retro feel.
It just show tat it’s not necessary to hire a interior designer for your home especially when you already know what want. Lovely beautiful home. Very different from the usual cookie cutter.
Great point! It's much easier these days when you can take inspiration from both your travels and online, with access to materials, furniture, appliances and inspiration at your fingertips 😃
Like 9/10 of these couple homes are indicative that Singaporeans have generally given up on having kids and are wholly thinking of their own lives and comforts. Not that it's a bad thing, just that its an interesting view into the actual mentality of young couples here, going against the grain of population growth.
To be fair, we do keep a lookout for nice homes. They generally tend to be less accommodative to children, but perhaps things would change along the way for these owners. Maybe in 4-5 years when a little one comes along, they would have to make compromises or renovate differently.
Hey! The nomenclature is quite a strange one indeed! It's really more about the size, rather than the number of bedrooms. That being said, a 3-room flat has 2 bedrooms, and 4/5-room has 3 bedrooms each, with the 5-room flat having more space than the 4-room flat in general that goes to the living area 👌
How about a Career Option ? With such good taste ...Can help to design n decorate for those who cherish "home" environment rather than those cookie cutter churned out nowadays .
*They have high paying jobs why not a executive condominium? I was surprised it was HDB. Nevertheless I love the simplicity of the house. It’s curated and beautiful. Not too cluttered. It was artsy too*
Beautiful tropical yet classy, moody, bougie home by a cool couple. Don't think they plan on having children though. Otherwise it won't be lookin like that.
Thank you for your feedback! This is quite the preferred trend right now, as it has one of the more calming vibes compared to many other interior designs. We also wanted to showcase how this homeowner managed to achieve this on their own without engaging an ID - a sort of inspiration for others 😀

Nice but definitely not simple...there's lots of mood and character with all the things they've put in and renovated. Very beaut!
well said - home is more than just the place. it's the people that makes it a home. Love the self designed vibes of the home.
Home is more than just a place 😀 We're glad that the homeowners here managed to carry that through the home!
looks lived-in, not too polished, and plenty of plants - love it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Duncan!! Glad you love it!
some people have good taste and it shows. well done on this design without any ID
Glad you like it!
Finally a home that doesn’t have the same open kitchen concept like everyone else’s. This looks so homely. I love it!

ID only if you wanna overpay
Hi may I ask if the floor is marble? If so, what type?
Damn they have smeg toaster and kettle. Those cost a bomb
Hopefully - buy once and never have to buy for a long time to come!
Hdb kitchens r generally pretty decently sized. Kitchens in condos are small in comparison ...
It's pretty decent indeed! Older HDBs tend to be bigger in all aspects 👌
❤❤❤
🥰
Where can we get more pictures of this gorgeous home?
Hey! You can check out their profile - their profile is in the description above 👌

Why is it called 5 rooms HDB flats? are they really 5 rooms.....just wondering.....thank you

interior designers are not necessary if the owners know what they like and are willing to do the legwork!
Well said! Thanks for watching!
Totally agree. I may redesign my existing house without a ID in the near future.

Why would anyone want to live in the city? I prefer living off city areas
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes city areas can be too crowded for some! And not to mention expensive!
So I guess they're not planning on having kids
We aren't too sure about the owner's personal preferences in that regard 👀
NOT ANOTHER HOUSE OF NEUTRAL.......ugh
