Man, I still vividly remember this race. Trevor Bayne's crash, the Edwards wreck, the big one, Ragan trying to knock the wall down, and the battle at the end. I was bouncing off the walls when Jeff knocked Kyle out of the way.
When you realize this was almost 10 years ago
@@DavidJameson89 Bill Elliott in the 09 car and Dave Blaney racing together. Now their sons race together.
Jeff, my favorite driver, albeit late into his career as i was young. This was the first win of his I'd ever seen
My favorite nascar driver of all time. My sister got to meet Gordon (she won a contest that sent her to the Superbowl, and she was invited to this party (with celebs) and Gordon was there). She got me a signed autograph of his. Absolutely jealous, a Superbowl and meeting Jeff
The driver's no longer racing.
Wow.
Thirty of the forty three no longer race in Cup and three more won't be racing next year. WOW again.
Oh and sure do miss Steve Byrnes.
2011 was my second year of being a NASCAR fan and a jeff Gordon fan. This was the first time I watched him win. Glad they’re showing this race again
Dang I remember watching this race live. I was only 7 at the time.
This brings Back memories. It's crazy to see how many different drivers were racing back then. I have been a diehard fan of the sport since 93 i was 3 years old. Still love it to this day. At this time I was fan of Gordon since his rookie year. Now that he has moved on I'm a chase elliott fan. I basically took the drivers who took over the 24 car. I'm excited to see him win the championship this year with 5 wins at 24 years old. I guess I'm lucky with who I pick. Love conversating with other fans. I'm one of the few that don't get discouraged by change in the sport. You learn to adapt, it makes it more fun than always complaining.
9 years of this race
Damn.. I'm old
This was the start of Jeff Gordon’s small resurgence... he should have won the title in 2014... but you know... BS Playoffs
And 2007 with 6 wins and 30 top 10 finishes he should have been the champion he entered the last 10 races with about a 270 point lead to have all of them taken away. He would have rapped up the championship with one race left just like he did in 1998 when won 13 races.
I was a huge Gordon fan as a kid, but drifted away from NASCAR for a long time. Him doing a burnout in the grass in a COT was the only thing I remembered from watching him race. This video fills me with so much nostalgia.
I have aged with a sport; it feels weird.
I will say this, I am absolutely hopeful for the future of this great sport. I think this next decade is gunna be great.
For NASCAR at least lol
I miss it when stages werent a thing. I want to go back to racing without stages.
I wish nascar would go back to this car instead of the crap cars they have now
As a Rowdy fan, I can't say I was happy about Kyle not winning that day, Yet of all the people Gordon is the one driver I'd prefer if Busch couldn't win.
I remember that one for sure. 4x Champ Jeff Gordon: " Man We Just Beat Kyle Busch ". You could hear the emotion. That was saying something back then. Jeff knew how good Kyle was.
JEFF GORDON IS THE BEST OF ALL TIME NO DOUBT ABOUT IT !!!!
I remember this race on Tv...salutes From Argentina🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Those 3 standing in the sun in suits is something different for a change
Oh boy, this will be a good race (hint hint: "AROUND GOES _______!")
@Damar Fadlan why tf are there always people in the comments of nascar races spewing random anime bullshit names, like clearly these aren’t the people racing, why are they even brought up?
This version of Phoenix was so good. I don't really understand the reconfiguration.
everyone in nascar has a saying. 'If it ain't broke, fix the shit out of it.'
I miss the old Phoenix International Raceway, the name itself, the old Turns (before they switched)
I like both configurations of the track I think did a great job with the new configuration the only thing is the old configuration where the starting line is was defenly at a better place as it saved Jeff from going a lap down he was able to keep his position in the lead in 2007 .
No, the REAL reason this race is a classic is The Big One. Very rarely do big wrecks happen at Phoenix.
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
I miss this version of Phoenix so bad
I like "Gordon muscles his way around Busch" better. Not much of a door slam to me.
what's crazy is how well kyle busch took getting beat in this race
I always had a feeling Kyle was secretly pulling for Jeff when they raced against each other. Probably watched him growing up.
Sounds like it was partially because much of Jeff Gordon’s pit crew were on his team when he raced the #5 for HMS. One thing I have picked up from hearing many of the drivers on podcasts, as much as they want to win, they want wins for their crews.
This Was on My Dad's 35th Birthday So Glad Gordon Won
well thats my favourite what i see on gen5 cars it has a prtty good shape also did just mixing up with gen 4 cars than previous crappie Brace blade splitters and rear spoiler wings
I forgot all about this vicious crash for David Ragan. Otherwise, I’m loving this race.
Nice race to watch thanks
This race was cool! 👍
That Was Jeff Gordon 83rd Career Win

Anybody else watching this to get ready for the final race?
Great upload! : D
"There was only one car that could beat me this week and there it is" Kyle Busch after loosing to Jeff Gordon
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET’S GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last race with the grass... :(
53:57 - THE BIG ONE
Aww man I thought Kyle was going to win
I miss the COT era.
9 year old me was hyped
My boy Jeff Gordon
Same
🐐
ah yes the days of where people wouldn't bitch about everything nascar does
1990
2020
nascar started they are advancing Y.Y*in the pandemic
*
they change the point system because of Jeff I don't see any driver beating his 93 wins or or Jimmy's 83
"Door slam", are you kidding me. Clickbait shit, this wasn't even close to a door slam.
Wish it was the other way around
🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Before NASCAR ruined Phoenix Raceway
well thats my favourite what i see on gen5 cars it has a prtty good shape also did just mixing up with gen 4 cars than previous crappie Brace blade splitters and rear spoiler wings
I was at this race. Only Nascar race I've been too (Canadian). My dad brought me here to cheer me up after my divorce when I was 25. Gordon was my hero growing up. Seeing him win as I sat there with my dad was the greatest feeling I think I've ever had. It was a huge win!
Sorry to hear about your divorce
