@@bogdanyiferenc9539 I bought the Purifier and I ended up liking it a lot. It's a weird poke build, but I went with 1x Heavy large laser, 1x heavy medium laser, 3x Er Medium lasers. Kfx C right arm with Ecm, Kfx Prime left arm for laser duration bonus. Kfx s leg for 2 jump jets. Everything else heat sinks. I'm a bad light brawler, but as a mid range poker this thing is good.

Its still my favorite light all kitted out with medium pulses and dhs. It can tear through other lights and most mediums in stand up fights and can hit and run the big boys pretty good. I love it!

In lore those arm mounted weapon kickass since you can do mostly w/e you wanted like a normal arm, one can only hope VR gets better and we can actually play Mechwarrior in VR with using arm mounted weapon as intended.
I've had a lot of success and fun with the Assassin Dark Death: 2 MRM10's, 2 Med Lasers, and a Machine Gun. If yer not an MRM fan than 2 SRM6's with Artemis, no Machine Gun, also works well. Rockets are the Periphery's go too weapon for explosive power... they aren't elegant, or pretty, but they work... and only once.
Nice overview dude :) One more advice before spending money, always make sure to check the reward program as well, because depending on how & what you buy there can be much more value for your money. Like for example, the coolest looking Atlas (the loyalty S variant) is only available when PGI adds it to that pool.
I've started running my Cypher with 3HMLs and 6MGs, surprisingly brutal. My Blood Kit totes around an LB20X and 4ERSLs for a surprise boom. The Bushwhacker P2 is better for laser+ballistic+missile builds.
Wow, I wish I had enough MC to buy all the "must buys." Ended up having just enough for the UM, Quickdraw, and Cyclops w/ bays plus one extra bay. Looking forward to building them out.
Few things I'll add to some of the heroes I didn't hear mentioned that I think is important, and some fun stuff you can do, fun builds, etc: -Urbie Streetcleaner - Has a higher engine cap and can mount more JJs than any other urbie. Has inferior weapon quirks and generic hardpoints for an Urbie, though. So if you run this, may as well make use of the mobility advantages. -Nova Breaker - You buy this one for the right torso 2 energy hardpoints that's about it. Then you can do max red lasers. -Vulcan Bloodlust - Basically a worse Assassin 21 but Vulcan is still good so it should be alright. -Ebon Jaguar Esprit De Corps - This one got a MEGA buff from Cauldron. You can mix and match omnipods on this to get like up to a 50% UAC Jam Chance reduction and do like 2 UAC10 or some other dakka. -Dragon Fang - Basically a 1C/1N with some hardpoints shifted around. Generally people just buy the 5N for dakka. -Dragon Flame - IMO you buy this for the high mount LT ballistic. This is something unique no other Dragon does. I do AC20+2 snubs on mine, can also do HGauss and some lasers. It's not a "definite" buy for me but I'd put it in like a perhaps second tier behind the must buys. -Cataphract IM - Re: the AC10 build - This and a couple of the Roughnecks are the only IS heavies that can run 3 AC10, but I think the Ilya is much more practical due to the extra tonnage. -Marauder BH2 - 3 snub nose, 1 AC20 dead side is my favorite build for this one. Only 75 ton MAD that can do SNAC deadside. -Rifleman Legend Killer - I think this one's very strong, though, you're somewhat shoehorned into LB10X build on it, as pretty much anything else can be done better on other variants. Cool paintjob though. -Sunspider Manul - Actually a lot of decent laser vomit builds that can use the So8. -Thanatos Hangover - Generally agree on RLs although I don't think they should be removed from the game entirely. They have a small niche. So does the hangover. It gets an RL15 HSL+2 which means you can fire 4 with no ghost heat. You could probably fire the 5th and eat the ghost heat. That is 150 damage out. Basically treat that arm like an insta-gib "I need one thing dead right now" arm. I wouldn't buy it just for this, though. Very niche to buy just one mech for.... -Thunderbolt Top Dog - This mech got its engine cap increased to 350 last patch! :) -Annihilator Mean Baby - I run mine with MRM140 and just eat the ghost heat. 140 point alpha chad build. Love it. -Blood Asp Rancor - Combining the pods from this one with the new Blood Asp from the Predator pack you will be able to run a SHITLOAD of ATMs on, more than the old standard Supernovas. -Dire Wolf UV - Actually the 8x2 Dakka builds are best on the -C or -Prime or -A, you just buy it for the pods generally, though it's a minor benefit, you can totally do it on the UV. The UV with some of the new -C pods and the missile head can run a shitload of LRMs and some LPLs for backups, totally dumb claglord build but fun as hell with tons of sustainability. -Highlander Heavy Metal - I do mine with 2 AC5 and 3 Light PPCs and a RL or two in the torso. The hardpoints kinda suck compared to other Highlanders but my GOD is it tanky. It gets extra structure over other HGNs. Super super super tanky.
To me Lights : Purifier, gives ECM+3AMS build extra hardpoints to utilize 5-6 lasers Med: Viper can have 11 micro pulses, which is like a piranha that is tankier. Sparky can do the 4 snub nose ppc build For assaults i think only Scorch is mandatory. That chassis has best silhouette, and scorch has one of if not the best brawler build.
I think the Marauder Bounty Hunter is my favorite mech in the game so far. I run it with three Snub Nosed PPCs, and an AC-20. I keep one whole side dead, and use a standard engine. It's great if you need to learn to twist (like I did when I got it). You've got a whole arm and a side torso to soak up a ton of damage, you have a decently potent alpha strike that is pinpoint. If you flank, you'll rip a shoulder off your foe before they've even turned to face you. With halfway decent twisting I've killed assault mechs that I really should have just shot once and hidden from.

Been saving MC for a while from events, went for the 6 Large Pulse Boar's Head... OH GOD AMAZING: XL 375 for 60kph, near full armor (had to shave legs a bit), 9 double heat sinks (5 engine, 4 torsos), and it just melts everything. Thank you TTB for growing my ePeen a solid several inches!
The Roc is the ONLY Phoenix Hawk with missile hard points that's needed for the Macross Missile Massacre™️. Why get a VF-1 if you can't do that, right. With the recent MRM10 buffs this is deadly with 2XMRM10. Gotta try a 2xMRM20 build later, let's see how that works out.
I don't understand why people crap on the spider. If you like running locust and fleas, but wish they had jump jets, then spiders are for you. I have more fun harassing the enemy in my hero spider then I do in any other light. Just slap on a srm 4 and 2 medium pulse lasers. Ignore the ballistic and ams mounts and focus on the hit and run.
The Viper looks like a nosy parker or has Viagra bad reaction. One problem I have is I haven't meched since Mek Tek and MW4/Mercs days. I had a few nasty builds that I think are no longer buildable. The Adder with a big engine and every machine gun one could leverage into him. Or the Cauldron Born LRM missle volcano. (That many times would fall over from the recoil of a full alpha. LOL.) I will have to look into MWO I think, if I can afford it.
Did you mention that the Highlander warhorn was currently still available? I did not see the warhorn listed as an equipped item from in game store. I searched for the warhorn under cockpit/mounted/all and could not find it. I searched the online store under bundles etc and did not see the warhorn as included. Did I misunderstand about the Highlander (HGN-HM) warhorn?

In my opinion, the things you can buy for MC are way too expensive, some mechs come to ~35€ each if you convert it. For 2 mechs you get a full price game. The sales don't come often enough, normally like other games it should have something different on sale every week. And you still can't get the boost as a subscription, €5 a month would be enough, Sony and Xbox don't charge more and you get more for your money. MWO should finally adapt to today.
just got the sleipner cyclopes and very dissapointed how quickly it dies, max armor, max survival tree, not much helps, no XL engine, but it drops faster than any other assault chassis, and most heavy chassis, what a waste of MC
It's a killer, not a tank. It combines DPS, alpha, one-touch firing, and low facetime. Watch TTB's video that's called ALMOST 1000 MATCH SCORE...he uses a Fafnir with 4 LB-10X. I learned from it and operate my Sleipnir similarly when I can. Have one button fire all four, and have a second button with chain fire. You'll seldom want to use chain fire, but it's nice to have it ready for those times. Stick with it...it really is good, and it's more valuable the better your opposition is.

I dont get why they put rocket launchers in the game but none of the cool weapons from mw5. This game needs some short burst lasers imo and maybe even make them IS only.
Rocket Launchers are Canon to Battletech, Short Burst Lasers not so much, they're just weaker Pulse Lasers really. Now Rifles however, are Canon, and would be very interesting in MWO.
@@steelshanks1265 I liked them a lot too. SB lasers where good for me because they where nice alternate weapons that wouldn't shoot your heat through the roof. The current IS lasers are just bad compared to clan and imo short burst would help give IS some more build variety. I really wouldn't mind more option for weapons in shape or form tbh. I know clan has better tech in lore but in a video game that dont make good balance.
@@etherd Yeah, I wouldn't mind them, even if they say they're like a technological back step etc. The Chem Laser is another option they could go with too.
The chat is very distracting as it draws away from what you are saying, get rid of it or shrink it it's often don't know which one you are speaking on with all the choices.

Black Lanner gets ECM from the head, main reason to get the hero is for the head E hardpoint. More useful in, say, comp play
I bought the Quickdraw 44 off this recommendation and it's one of my favorites now. It's a total brawler and thats my fav.

Zeus hero is my favorite. Mrm 40, 2 light ppcs and TTB's favorite, 2 rocket launcher 20s in the arm.

@@steelshanks1265 I liked them a lot too. SB lasers where good for me because they where nice alternate weapons that wouldn't shoot your heat through the roof. The current IS lasers are just bad compared to clan and imo short burst would help give IS some more build variety. I really wouldn't mind more option for weapons in shape or form tbh. I know clan has better tech in lore but in a video game that dont make good balance.
@@etherd Yeah, I wouldn't mind them, even if they say they're like a technological back step etc. The Chem Laser is another option they could go with too.
The chat is very distracting as it draws away from what you are saying, get rid of it or shrink it it's often don't know which one you are speaking on with all the choices.
