edit: just want to add that I do like the fact that Thab does his best to beat endless levels on his own merit, without the level viewer, and it is completely reasonable to not want to spend an excessive amount of time just to beat some random obscure level. I always appreciate you taking the time to give us Mario Maker content, Thab, especially these weekend vids!

100% agree skipping levels like that make for better videos. I feel the same about leeto levels. Boring levels are boring
I agree he shouldn't play levels he doesn't like, but I would rather he start a new run instead of skipping, the "this run is invalid" feeling is weird
The fact he didn't just bring the spring to the flagpole in that Use The Course level, & literally did it the unneccessary way....
It would have worked that way but the Blaargg would still be there trying to take Thab out.

34:20 I think you need to quickly kill all the cannonballs to lower the amount of sprites.
The ability to choose wind speed and direction would have been pretty sweet. Imagine the kaizo levels with wind coming down from above, or the low grav levels with wind coming up from below?
On the first stage it looks like @0:41 you can drop down where the 2nd wiggler is and get into the dev door to beat the 20 second timer (you might need to put on the spiny as a helmet that's shortly past that part and go back to drop below the wiggler if you have to take damage)

I must admit, MM2 feels much more alive & joyful than MM1, but I also understand that THAB wants to play some MM1 before they shut down the game, so appreciate whatever content he produce.

00:26 Actually there is no force death or dev route. All you had to do is to be fast enough and enter door at 0:52 to get to the end. I have no idea how to get 20 sec timer though, I don't see any shortcut available. It had to be some insance cheese through hidden blocks that were blocking the path. Maybe some1 smarter than me can tell me how :). Level code XYY-R1N-4MF. Fair level (I will change mind if there is actually something I had missed).
2:20 A lot of hidden blocks pretending to block the player. Thab found the only path that was possible to beat the level at 6:07 but there were more hidden blocks at the left side that allowed to climb - there was no need to make any coin bridge or take the spring. Not a fair level.

10:58 Oh geez, I wrote a long paragraph describing it but Thab at the end of the video showed/explayed everything that I wrote :). I remember some1 explained in details how to beat the level but I can't find this comment after that much time. NOT A FAIR LEVEL.

Note: I don't judge if level is hard or well made. I simply check if creator added or used something not necessarily hidden that was meant to make the level easier for him or harder for the player. This is the only factor I check when rating if level is fair or not.

on the first speedrun at the very beginning, he went in the intuitive S shape but to me that platform on the right was hanging down suspiciously low. If you could jump up there without going all the way left that would make enough time to get in the door and win: anot sure though, not good enough to test it myself
@@EdenPorterMusic The problem is - this path was entirely blocked by hidden blocks. I don't think bypassing it is possible.

I’m guessing that you’re close with the cannon ball speculation. It’s probably that you need to kill the cannonballs at specific times and maybe off screen the top one so there’s a brief split second period where none are on screen. Then you land on the note block. It’s not worth the effort in my opinion.

Definitely skip off-screen-stuff levels. They are fundamentally the same as password levels, with the password being the stuff off screen.

I think the noteblock in the level that you skipped had something inside that couldn't spawn because of entity limit stuff. So I think you were supposed to get the flower, jump on the bullet to get up to the plant (without touching the noteblock to not trigger it) and kill the plant. I assume after that the noteblock can spawn whatever is inside. Probably a shell I would assume to hit the on off switch and then maybe a bomb falls down and destroys the block or something like that. Idk if I am right but that's what would make sense to me
Edit: okay. Watched the end of the video now. I was right with most of it but I guess just killing the piranha isn't the solution. My bad.
The only thing I can imagine is that you have to hit the noteblock while no bullets are on screen
he tried exacty this at the end of the video.
@@pl7537 I tested it later and the solution was to hit the noteblock after killing the piranha and then two bullets at once (the red one and the right shooting one) and while the left one is not on screen anymore and before they shoot again. That way the drybone shell can spawn
