Strength to Strength welcomed Shawn Miller to discuss how the Gospel’s central tenant has been shaken, and how we can rebuild with a better understanding.
To be a “kingdom person” means to be under the reign of God. Like earthly nations, Jesus’ kingdom has four components including a leader, constitution, domain, and citizens. However, in contrast to the nations of the world, Jesus’ kingdom is international. He came as a King with all the intended consequences of that terminology. His citizens are dispersed among all nations of the world.
While this is the most common and important theme of Jesus’s teaching, it has been largely lost and forgotten. It is of utmost importance to return these foundational concepts and show the whole world what it would look like if we truly lived under the kingship of Jesus. Understanding the emphasis on the kingdom of God will change the way we think, live, and evangelize.

I would disagree that you need a relationship with the person you are sharing the kingdom with. There are too many examples of just the opposite in the bible. In addition, you can make your own tracts of kingdom principles and use them aside conversation with those you hand them to. If you need to get to know everyone you preach to, you will be less fruitful with that as a condition. I heard a complete stranger when they preached to me and accepted it with fear and joy. Besides that, thanks for the teaching.

      Good morning,
Thanks for that push back. I completely agree that you do not always need a relationship with the person. There are many examples of this when something beautiful happened without having a relationship first. However, I do think building relationships is one really great way of opening the door to deeper conversations. God can work in many ways, whether the relationship has been built already or not.
