Geodesic Dome Construction for a 2v Geodesic Silo Dome

This is a standard 2v Geodesic Dome with a vertical support structure for the foundation that is made of 30 blue hubs and 10 blue struts. The Silo section uses standard struts and hubs, but adds several feet of head room to the dome, giving more usable space.

Very interesting and so simple. Questions; 1) Have you tried to build from the top down? 2) The plastic exterior cover - what is the technique for draping with more that one sheet of plastic to cover a large dome?

It is easier to build from the bottom up,. as you don't need a crane or lift to raise the dome.
You can attach two sheets of plastic together using clear greenhouse tape - but it is better to buy a single large sheet.

if i ever get land - I'm going 2 make this. I'll cluster a few 2gether w/some sort of doorway between them.
Somehow have the tops as large windows. put it all on a cement slab ... coat it all w/stucko. yaa! ... maybe a horseshoe configuration open 2wards south ? or: a complete circle of them.
