This video is essential viewing for the construction of the Flinders Play Set, but does inherit some of the deficiencies of the instruction manual.
    TIPS & CORRECTIONS
First, don't be fooled by the quick insertion of the screws indicated in the video -- there are a lot of pilot holes you will need to drill.
Second, to avoid splitting the wood or breaking screws, pay close attention to potential clashes between screws going into beams from different sides.
0:30 - The manual's list of playset fixings bears little resemblance to (a) the parts referenced later in the manual, (b) the parts indicated in the video, or (c) the parts you actually need. I've appended an updated list of playset fixings at the end of this comment.
1:04 - They mean PCH-BTD55, not PCH-BPD55 (also misprinted in the manual on pages 9 and 10).
1:13 - When he flips the first assembly, the cross-beams at both ends have clearly been attached, but ten seconds later, they've disappeared. You'll be instructed to attach the second end cross-beam at 1:53, and I suggest you do wait until then, as you have a bit more freedom with the screws for that board than with the bolts for the middle board (040012). Also, note that the predrilled holes in board 040011 are slightly asymmetric and that the holes further from the long edge of the board should be on the outside (as indicated in the manual).
1:20 - Make sure you've got board 040012 oriented correctly, with the (larger) bolt hole on the side closest to the cross-beam you've already attached (040009).
    3:09 - Again, they mean PCH-BTD55, not PCH-BPD55.
3:45 - Make sure you've got board 040012 oriented correctly, with the (larger) bolt hole on the side away from the long cross-beam (040014).
4:03 - And also use one PCH-WRC01 washer for each PCH-SWA08 screw.
4:15 - Note the measurements in the manual for the placement of boards 040004 and 040009.
5:15 - As anybody actually constructing this would know, PCH-WRC01 is a washer, not a screw. They've clearly misread the manual here, and both holes should have the standard PCH-SWA08 screw plus PCH-WRC01 washer combination.
5:25 - Before securing with any screws, I recommend checking that the assembly is square by placing boards 040010 or 040002 at the mid-level (see at 5:50) and by checking that boards 040007 span the distances between the upper cross-beams at each end (see at 10:00).
5:30 - Again, they mean PCH-SWA08 screw plus PCH-WRC01 washer, not a PCH-WRC01 screw. And beware of clashes between the screws coming from each direction.
6:20 - I suggest securing board 040006 at one end and then at the other end, to assure the desired alignment.
6:49 - Again, beware of clashes between the screws you're inserting and the bolts already in the beam.
7:22 - I recommend not attaching the top 040013 board (the one closest to the angled end of the 040015 beams) until after the climbing wall is secured to the main structure, as having the board there can make access to the brackets (PC-BRC15) very difficult. Also, pay attention to the placement of the holes for the climbing wall holds, as they should alternate left and right from board to board. Note, the manual indicates using six 040003 boards, when it should be six 040013 boards, and it mistakenly points to the climbing wall holds as being part 040013 when they are really PC-RE01.
7:53 - You're not going to secure anything with just the bolt and washer indicated in both the manual and the video. Use a PCH-NTA03 nut on the other side.
8:21 - You'll also need a PCH-NTA03 nut, which the manual remembered (for one side) but the video did not.
9:02 - They're really not paying attention at this point. What you actually need is (just like on the other side) a PCH-BTD39 bolt, a PCH-WRC03 washer, and a PCH-NTA03 nut.
9:49 - Again, beware of clashes between the screws you're inserting and the bolts already in the beam. Note that the manual (on page 14) lists PCH-WRC0 but means PCH-WRC01, and omits the two 040008 boards from the parts list for this step.
10:28 - Or, you know, just walk to the other side.
10:34 - Note that the manual (on page 15) omits the swing beam 040018 and the four swing hangers PC-HG02 from the parts list for this step.
11:18 - Note that the manual (on page 16) lists PCH-NTC023 but means PCH-NTC02.
12:00 - You may want to level the main playset structure in its final position before attaching the swing beam to the A-frame bracket (or at least do so before attaching the swing beam to the main structure), especially if you need to dig the structure into the ground.
12:20 - The bottom hole should be secured with the same set of components as the top hole (PCH-BTC43, PCH-WRD01, PCH-WRC03, PCH-WRE03, PCH-NTC02, and PCH-NTB02). It is the *middle* hole that should be secured with a PCH-SWA14 screw and PCH-WRC03 washer.
12:30 - This is where things get a bit worrisome. The square shank of the carriage bolts PCH-BTC02 supplied to attach bracket PC-BRA01 to the playset do not fit through the round holes in the bracket, and the square part of the shank is taller than washer PCH-WRC06. So this makes the washer basically useless and puts additional stress on the bracket. You should also probably add a PCH-WRE04 lock washer between the PCH-WRC04 washer and the PCH-NTC03 nut on the bottom side of the beam when securing each side of bracket PC-BRA01.
12:40 - The A-frame bracket (PC-BRA02) can bend if the swing beam is not supported, so pay close attention to how the people in the video do it.
12:45 - As with the comment at 12:30 about issues with the carriage bolts and washers, the primary bolt for the swing beam, PCH-BTC13, does not work with the washer PCH-WRC06, as the square part of the shank doesn't pass through the washer. To get the best support for the swing beam from the carriage bolt, we opted to leave the washer off.
12:48 - You'll want to ensure the swing beam is level (and, if necessary, dig the leg beams into the ground) before tightening bolt PCH-BTC13.
13:30 - Like me, you might decide to omit the washers when securing the slide.
13:45 - Thank goodness the video explained this step in more detail than the manual.
14:15 - Obviously, make sure you don't try to drive the screw for the Pirate Steering Wheel through the bolts supporting the swing beam. The box for the playset (and the video at 16:00) shows the wheel in the middle, opposite the swing beam, but that position clashes with a screw that's been placed already. Instead, placing it off-centre and on the swing beam side (as in the video) seems preferable.
14:45 - The carabiners were labelled PC-BH04 in my set, not PCH-MSC01.
15:45 - I was not supplied with any parts TFH-8 (or TH-8, as they're given in the parts list on page 18 of the manual) to secure the spiral ground anchors to the playset. The manual also indicates six TFH-17 parts being used, but does not specify where, nor were they supplied or even included in the main list of playset fixings.

So, so, soooooo many obvious mistakes it's an embarrassment. When he said to fix the bolt with just a washer and no nut on the other side I couldn't believe it. No measurements for anything, no explanation just a terrible video matched with an aweful instruction manual and twisted timbers.... I could go on.... just woeful 😡😡😡

Whoever wrote this instruction manual and whoever wrote the steps on this video need to be drawn and quartered on this very playset.

Hey guys at 4:35 you need to give a measurement off that thicker square beam on where that beam next to it goes. I'm way down the track and it's not aiming up. Screwed me royally

On the "Swing slide climb" website it says this kit takes 2 hours for 2 people to put together. Maybe if you do it for a living - but for the rest of us, the instruction manual states that it takes more like 6-8h, and that was about how long it took us. The manual is mostly OK, but it does lack some key information, has a few misprinted part numbers, and is entirely lacking in instruction for a couple of key parts. This meant we ended up undoing and redoing a few joins, but annoyances aside I've certainly seen worse instruction manuals. Our kit came together fine, I'm still married etc, despite building it with my wife (words were exchanged but we survived the experience). The pieces are mostly well constructed and they did fit together well. The slide is solid. The rock wall could do with a second stabilising beam connecting it to the base and I think we will probably make one. An impact driver would be very handy, but it wasn't essential, we didn't use one. Now let's see how it weathers.
