Himawari is an also a service apartment. About 20 years ago, many USA (amongst others) embassy staff lived there. It’s tailored to long term residents, not just short term hotel guests. The rooms are pretty large and many are suite type rooms. In the day, many local people, especially ministers, used to come to the pool and use the gym. The pool was a popular place 20 years ago for the rich and government ministers, it was the largest pool in town. Now, there are lots of pools so I don’t know if it’s as popular as before. When I first came to Cambodia, I used to stay at Himawari before the river walk extended to the ferry. Himawari property used to extend to the river. Himawari also had a big conference room for local businesses to hold meetings, like AMCHAM etc. Many expats use Himawari for functions.
