"Initially when I wrote “In Circles,” it was an acoustic song. It was a lovely, very sad, acoustic lament. And when I brought it to the band, when William got ahold of it, it became this powerful rock song. At first, I was like, “No, no, this isn’t what this is.” But everything that I write, no matter what it is, it seems like that band - with William, Dan [Hoerner], and Nate [Mendel] - just make it better." - Jeremy Enigk
"Not to be confused for the studio demo thats been online for years." MAYBE THIS IS THE ONE I'M THINKING OF??? CAN ANYONE UPLOAD IT??? IT IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND ONLINE.
@@ciozara I think chorus is better but not as catchy. I like how he goes from normal sing/talking voice to a wolf howl falsetto. The lead is forced into the background and is more complex, and it adds a twangy flavor instead of being the main driving force besides the base, which isn't in this version. I think if Radiohead made or covered this song, it'd sound more like this. At this stage, this song sort of sounds like it really wants to be a Radiohead song.
I need help, i found a demo version of this in 2009 on here. It wasn't acoustic just more lo-fi demo quality, but the way Jeremy sings "in CIIIIIIIIRRRCLLLLESSS" or at points just kinda melodizes it is very similar. It's been bothering me for so long. No doubt it has been off youtube for well over a decade, I just want to hear it again so bad.

Beautiful. Needs more views. Jeremy may not have bin as good of a singer back then. But still. That "I go" was just so damn moving...
kenny mccormick hits you hard every time
damn this is better than the album version
Simon B. How? Hahah
I like both versions, but this one has some quirks that make it stand out a lot more and the hairs on the back of my neck raise up.

@@_e-e More personal, good harsh vocals, not as commercial sounding. Both still good. Personally, I may like this one better.
@@Dylan90210 as if sunny day real estate could ever be "commercial sounding"
He should have kept that yodel! This gives me chills all over again from the first listen of the diary version....
😢
sad song.....good band ..midwest emo
In violent frustration he cries out to God or just no one
Is there a point to this madness, and all that he was is just a tragedy
