Plain old rock pooling for peeler shore crabs in March.. quite likely a bit early for them but check out the video. it may help you find a few :)
At some point me and Curtis will do a in depth video on how and where to find them. as I'm not massively knowledgeable when it comes to finding them I feel I'm getting the hang of it... pretty much a raw upload guys.. hopefully you all enjoy it

Always put the rocks back in the same position if you can.

Nice videos I used to find more up the Ouse estuary, are you still allowed to collect peelers up there?

I went on the search for peeler the last two tides and there’s not a lot of peelers about compared to 2 weeks ago, I got quite a few large crab just starting to molt there shell,I’m keeping them alive until they pop as I live beside the sea n I can change the water daily.
Has anyone any idea how long they take to molt from start to finish?

After watching your stream today I noticed that when you moved the rock you never replaced them back and just left them the object is to replace the rock as you found them please remember this.

Later that month, I also went rockpooling at Seaford (the west side of the cliffs, not deep into the bay) during a low spring tide. I only found and caught a handful of crabs, generally smaller than the ones in this video. My highlight was the big bullhead I caught though. If anyone else decides to go there, be careful because of the big rocks separating the pier from the bay, and the seagulls crapping everywhere near the cliffs.

Yeah it's best to put your turned rocks back mate.
Peelers Bury themselves aswell so it's a good idea to have a root around in the mud near rocks and so on

You need to learn a better way of ascertaining if it's a peeler than pulling the leg off, as you are in danger of just being a crab dismemberer! Ha ha, keep it up 😀

Mate if your not sure best bet is to watch a UA-cam video on now to find out the best way to identify peelers I would only try and put the last bit off on there last leg. And please always put rocks back where you found them

Get yourself a pair of cut rated 5 gloves or maybe cut rated 3. They will still allow you to feel around and grab but if you do get a nip it won’t break your skin.. they are about 3 quid a pair

My father used to catch bass on hardbacks, try cutting a large one in half works really well for hounds

Big cock crab in a pot is all you need .lay dwn on the reef come back next tide and will certainly have plenty of peelers in it looking for protection from the male

Mate that’s a really bad example of how to collect peeler and soft crabs. I have been doing it thirty five years and one of the first rules is to turn the rocks back the way you find them. If you don’t then it kills the weed and ruins the eco system.
Please please put the rocks back the right way up!!!

For peeler best place is estuary’s as it’s far warmer 👍

You are not any good at give anglers a good name. Put rock's back as you found them. Don't pull the leg's off you can fell if they are ready to peel. Every rock push over is killing other sea life. Apart from that it was informative for younger angler's leaning how to find bait.

Your leaving yourself open to criticism mate by A) not putting the rocks back after turning them over b) randomly ripping legs off looking for the peelers(back leg last part is enough)
Thing is rightly so moaning to the kids about throwing rubbish in the ocean but your not exactly doing things correctly for the environment
I really enjoy your content mate but starting to get a bit annoyed with the lack of care tbh
Sorry for the moan but its a comments page for constructive comments

Hiya mate I was trying to get just the tip of the back legs off. but they seem to just drop the whole leg every time. im waiting on a friend to take me out and teach me abit more about spotting them. next time ill make sure to leave rocks as I found them.. I always appreciate feedback good or bad as shows how I can improve
