Nice! Thanks for the videos. When training head horses do you steer stop anymore. And if so, what does it do for your horse and if not what other method would have the same effect. I hear steer stopping is not good for the cattle as far as keeping them honest and ropeable.
Steer stopping is harder on your steers if you plan on team ropin’ ‘em too. They tend to get heavy in the corner... most of the time, a horse gets strong because they anticipate the turn, so I’ll rope and down stream a steer while being tight to the horse to keep a horse from getting strong. Plus it’s not as hard on your cattle... does teach some heelers patience, though. Lol
