Obedience is a cult goal. Give up your ability to think for yourself. Otherwise, they can't control you. It's sad that Stevenson tried to reinforce the First Vision account that not even Brigham Yyooung believed.

I notice this weekend they've focused quite a bit on death and the deceased, which is a huge draw towards religion in general for many as it serves as a comfort and answer for such an unknown. It's a rather fear oriented tactic.

I'm convinced that a lot of people stay in the church even though they don't necessarily enjoy it or like it, only because they want to be with their spouse/family. I saw plenty of people not paying attention in sacrament meeting.

Eyring: "But keep it simple!" (Just do what we say)

Talking about seeking truth is hypocritical when examining the church history and excommunication of individuals like Nemo. The concept of communicating with deceased individuals is spooky and more in line with ghost stories from popular culture than with Christianity.

OH MY GOSH. The Brad Wilcox one you shared here: "Does your birthright make you better than everyone else? No, but it does." hahah dying. The Eyring stuff is weird advice to me- I ignored the doctrine and that is why I left? Actually....I found the doctrine to be false based on the evidence. So....not sure how talking simply will help family relationships.

Which First Vision are you speaking of? There are many with the first being from 1832 but that's not the canonized version. It is the one referenced in the Saturday night session though so they can all be smashed together as a big hodge podge so everything is the correct version.

It would be easy to comment on your cynicism or such a lovely young woman so absorbed in such negative energy overtaking your young life, but as a parent my self, I am willing to bet you have living parents, and probably siblings, that have you in their prayers day and night. In fact I would bet everyone of your followers and comment posters can think of at least one person that sincerely has them in their prayers. An unconditional love kind of prayer for each of you. I am guessing each of you know who they are, that they easily come to mind and the love you know they have for you. I hope their prayers are heard and answered.

    • @lisagrace6471

Yes, I have had connections with the other side too, without seeking them out. I think there is a weird brand of it and sketch versions of it, but in general, there is a great big world out there and it is actually part of shaman training regarding spirits and death. And yes, many thousands of people throughout the world have had out of body experiences and near death experiences...or recall of reincarnations etc. there are a lot of spiritual paradigms out there widely accepted that do not make it freaky to have these experiences....I think mormonism just makes it weird likely because the origins of the religion were really strange. idk.

Why don’t you all In the comments just stop. What is wrong with you? Either you miss the church and you are too proud to go back or for some reason you need a echo chamber to make yourselves feel better for leaving. This girl in the video, has she been excommunicated yet?

People are put down by Mormons for leaving the church. This video validates that people were correct in leaving the church. I left the church because I got tired of hearing how feeling fear, anger, pride and jealousy are evil. I am an INFP personality type and my dominant trait is feelings. Now I feel fear, anger, jealousy and pride until they go away rather than trying to suppress these feelings all the time. (No one goes around saying Christ is so compassionate, Christ can't feel His feelings). Also, now I practice mantra meditation which benefited me 10x more than the Mormon church did. I had to learn mantra meditation from the book Meditation for Dummies by Stephan Bodian (I spent 16 years thinking I was meditating by just thinking of spiritual things because of Mormon church teachings.) because the church lies about what true meditation is. Mantra meditation made it 10x easier to be a loving person than prayer, scripture study and church attendance ever did. 10x easier.

@@arieljensen2617 unfortunately I was blessed with a personality trait that compels me to stand up for what I believe to be Right. I call people out for their behavior. I am not like the regular people. I love the temple and being in it. I’ve also grabbed stake presidents by their suit jacket and pushed them against the wall and warned them to knock it off, I’ve threatened bishops across the the desk, to knock it off. I’ve stood up to 5 police officers and told them to knock it off. These are all humans who are imperfect. I am imperfect by far. But I stand up for those who are bullied. Something has happened to you obviously, the bitterness and hurt can be seen, you can’t hide it. What I don’t understand is how can you hate the temple? Because of some egotistical jerks in a suit, you allowed them to take away your temple. This is why I’m so disturbed. The people in the comments are admitting they let the jerks win. They allowed the bullies to win. Instead of standing up to them and getting that recommend so they can be with their fathers spirits in the temple, they just gave up and left. This is the saddest thing left to explain for a daughter of God.
