Some good advise i got when i first started shooting film was to always meter for the shadows. Film holds on to the highlights quite well, even if overexposed, so getting your settings from the darker areas in your frame leads to a well exposed image overall :)
Ahh that’s a good tip, thanks! :)
TIP: if you can still get them try some rolls with different light sensitivities and do some black and white films, would be great to take a picture of the same object, say mountain with snow, during the day and night with long shutter timer during the night. Use a standard to make sure the camera doesn't move at all.
Great job Ottilie!! Would love to shoot some film with you in the future when I come to Norway, haha
Awesome photos, I especially liked the one with the boat with the mountains in the background and the ones you took in the town!
Thank you very much! :)
Awesome doing analog photo's. Brings back memories, we had 21 rolls of 36 photo's each, some even 37 🙂from our honeymoon. toke a week to get them developed and printed. The old days, when things wen slower 😀
Hi! from London. Having started my photography interest in the darkroom, the first tip I still use is the employment of an analogue light meter, not a digital model for my analogue cameras because digital gived false readings where as analogue do not.
Once the settings on the analogue light meter is achieved, than you can get the right result.
I’ve watched all of your videos and I love all of them. With that said I’ve subscribed into your channel. I am a very minimalistic person and even in my digital world I’m also like that. Only have 15 channels that I subscribed… Go forward and keep posting your adventures… Cheers from Portugal
Wow! Thanks a lot 🤗
What’s more surprising is not how you learned to shoot film in 14 days but rather your impressive progression of the video quality since the last one in all aspects!!!!! WAY TO GO!!! (Still watching this one now)
thank you so much!! 😄
Wow! Those are stunning photos! Your video is a beautiful record (narrative) of the journey - please consider making more of these! Also, your surroundings are stunning! I have a beautiful old Canon Canonette QL17 rangefinder film camera that I love using. But, I also own a Leica M9 digital rangefinder - while it is digital, it is also completely manual (no auto settings)! It has the same manual process that slows down my photography, making me much more mindful and attentive to light, exposure, shutter speed, aperture etc. but, I don’t have to wait to see the photos or be restricted to only 36 exposures - that being said, there is something very special to the ‘finality’ of 36 film shots! Thanks for the video!
Thank you :) I’ve wanted to get a digital one as well, they just tend to be more pricey!
Very inspiring message here. I will be giving myself two weeks to figure out how to make a sourdough starter and attempt to use it. Or at least learn what steps I need to do to make my own bread with it. Thanks for the idea! Thanks!!
Amazing! I’ve tried it myself recently, hope it works out for you :)
Too good 🔥🔥🔥
appreciate it!!
I still need to take my first roll in for development. The anxiety is crazy!
How exciting!!
I'm old enough to remember taking photos on film because digital cameras didn't exist. There was alot more pressure to get it right and you had to WAIT for it to get developed. lol. Alot of your photos turned out good! So I'd say it was a success.
Thanks! :)
Please tell me which camera do you shoot vlogs on? How to achieve such a fantastic picture?
I like your videos a lot they are so inspiring and they have such a good telling. Your pictures turned out really great, not that I have any clue about taking pictures with fim, but can you tell me which app you used to know the right lightning setting. 😊
And sorry about my bad English.😅
Thanks! :) the app is called ‘Lghtmtr’
Thank you
That Kodak Ektar 100 is a nice film, but kinda expensive nowadays.
which app did you use on the phone to see the settings? And well done! :-)
It's called 'Lghtmtr' :)
