I have this exact DVD player and still use it to this day. Nice to know there's an easy failure point though, will maybe pop it open at some point and see if it's about to suffer the same problem. Thanks for the demonstration!
_"I'm a sucker for punishment."_ Eh, I'd say it's probably because you like a challenge and you don't like things to be discarded as waste if you can help it. When it works, it's going to give value to someone who needs it. And shooting in ProRes. Very cool. Of course, your final cut exported from your timeline is likely to be H.264, but you wouldn't want to edit assets encoded in MP4 if you can help it. That's what formats like ProRes are meant for. Of course, that also means dealing with assets of very large file sizes.
It's a 50m/bit version and yes the files are quite large. I doubt I will shoot everything in this format as it burns up hard drive space. Not as much as 4k but close.
Not to be confused with Suncon, which is actually good. It's a Japanese company that was spun off of Sanyo. But then there's Su'scon. Cheap Chinese crap. Very sus, as you said.
My parents got two Sony 2011 1080p LCD TVs. They would sometimes just crash and reboot. And connecting external HDDs sometimes doesn't work. Not even ones with their own power supply. So I got the PSU PCB from my dad and replaced some secondary side capacitors. Works good as new now. This Sunday it's the second one's turn.
I need to get out of storage my very first DVD player Toshiba 3107U. It was a first generation DVD player that I paid 500 bucks for. I am going to guess that it will not play new recent DVD's. If I am correct, why is that Dave? What is the difference between a DVD from 1997 to a DVD film bought today? Aside from the face that now DVD menus for movies have animation and video where as back when they first came out it was usually just a still image.
I haven't played a store bought DVD in years but all my old players play the ones I have. The old single laser units didn't play cdr media at all but were ok with dvdr (but struggled with DVD+r) Some of the old high end players had more issues like that expensive north of 1000 es Sony with the 2 seperate discrete laser pickups.
There is no difference. That old player will play any standard dvd made today. The animation and video in menus has always been there. Menus on DVD are always videos, that is not optional. The earliest Dvds that didn't have a video in the menu just had a video of nothing that lasted a second or so. So every dvd ever made had a video in the menu, even is it is just 1 second of nothing!
Good thing we have powerlines under ground, other than those high power lines, like 100kV lines, but if a bird goes to grill it self there, i doub't it would couse power failure at homes
We have underground lines here too on all the new builds but stuff that was put in 100 years ago nope. Government owned power so if everyone wants them hurried it will put up everyone's rates and nobody wants to pay for that. So old neighbourhoods have Ariel power. If they build a new road power goes underground. Everything new here since the 79s has been all underground but the areas built before that nope.
Have a microwave samsung that won't heat up all the thermal switches check but do to respect of high voltage i need a professional advice i can compensate
The best advice I can give you is undertake an extensive reading program educate yourself to a higher degree - study the English language and most importantly pay attention to detail. Make sure your brain sees what your eyes are actually looking at. Get those things into perspective first before attempting something more difficult. And don't stand too close to the Microwave oven - The microwaves cause brain damage
Another one. Right when i was shooting the video the power went off for about 2 minutes. I was actually on the phone when all the lights went out. Only the camera and my computer were still running as they have battery backup.
@@12voltvids That sucks. I am living in this apartment here in Germany since almost 10 years and I only had one 20 Minute power outage because an excavator damaged the wire. Usually they can redirect power from another place but it was deemed unsafe so we had to wait until a repair team got through the rush hour traffic.
I can understand why your wife enjoys the bad weather channel, I enjoy watching things like that and find it relaxing
Yup she had me put it on an endless DVD that just repeats over and over.

Suscon, the most unfortunately named capacitor brand

Teapo is a close second. They’re still better than Su’scon.
It is actually quite appropriate
That is why it is critically important to pay attention to detail
I am interested in that clock. I am into time pieces whether mechanical or electronic.
Great DVD player video! I like watching those too.

Was it another power outage or the same one that killed the other DVD player?
