David Da silva absolutely! Snappy has its perks but those perks come with a hefty price tag and even then it won’t do everything like the launch or autel
2001 Ram 1500 5.2 2wd base model. No Bus problem. I eliminated all sensors and such. Disconnected the junction where all the com bus wires come into under the driver side left knee panel. When all com is isolated I only get a pulsing .7 to .9 volts coming out of the Instrument Cluster. So do you feel thats a 100% bad instrument cluster on my truck? After days of reading and watching vids, that's where im leaning but have nobody to verify. Hopefully you're still reading the comments. Thanks!
It was still there but the Zeus was acting up and still wasn’t communicating so thought I mis diag the pcm but hook up drew tech to learn vin and that and the autel was communicating. After filming I ran codes with Zeus again and was able to communicate and put piñon factor in for abs but I didn’t think about going back in to see if I could do it at that time since I started getting slammed. It did have the function but kept saying n write failed. This new update isn’t spot on yet imo.
On a 2007 suburban. I fond. A used ecm with the same number. And iput it in first wont crank I bypass the security system no cranks but not starting. Should i need to do this. To rewrite the vin. To get it running. Thank you
Exmotorsports it had the option but wouldn’t write it. I tried twice and then grabbed the laptop. Wasn’t going to waste more time messing with it. Zeus is weird like that lol.
phil holbrook that’s where it should be right there. Should be able to read it then should give you options to write it. I would have to look, when you read it does it give you the option to write it?
Question? I'm working on the same vehicle in your video, 2001 dodge Durango 5.9L. The issue I'm having is a crank no start, code P0601 was coming up several times after clearing 3X immediately would come back. Internal failure within the pcm is the code definition, recommendation replace the pcm. I had it REBUILT, I was told after rebuild its a plug & play deal no need to reprogram. After plug in, it cranks & immediately cuts off, I'm not sure is reprogramming essential is this case. What's your thoughts on it ? I need help in the right direction, Thank you for the video.
So it’s a start and stall situation now? I would check to see if you can find the vin located somewhere in the pcm scan data. If this vehicle has a skim module then it possibly may need a skim reset. Have you called the company who rebuilt it and asked them the same question?
Got an 03 dakota 5.9 that had stall issues and would go into no bus . Truck would be fully operational even the gauges but when it stalled it would go into no bus. Had a computer from a junkyard put in. Now it runs and drives perfect but now the dash shows no bus with the cluster not working all the time. Could there be a program issue? I bought an obd2 heads up display that displays tach, water temp, and speed and it works accurately and the bus line appeared to have voltage when i tested with a probe. Have you ever experienced this? Im confused as to why the 2 computers aren't talking
Awesome vids man! I need to replace the pcm in my dodge truck but don't know where to get one, I've been looking online and see that a lot of websites that can supposedly rebuild/program them turn out to be scams. Do you have a recommendation where I could order a new pcm?
Any good auto parts jobber would be able to get that for you. Napa, autozone, etc. If you are a Canadian living in the Toronto area I can give you very specific information. Hope it works out for you!
I have a 1998 ram 3500 5.9 cummins that I bought with a bad PCM. I purchased another on Ebay with correct number, age and transmission. 5 speed manual. Everything works but ABS light and brake light is on. I took it into a shop and was told that the Vin was the not the one for my truck so they couldn't change the vin number to fix the problem. Can you help? Jim
Unfortunately the Cummins engine platform needs to be done with a drb3 which is a tool I don’t have. I would be able to perform this programming if it wasn’t a diesel. The j2534 software doesn’t allow the vin to be wrote which will cause the vehicle to be a no start.
Sure made you comment lol. Thanks for helping my UA-cam algorithm. If you think this is showing a lot of scanners you obviously haven’t seen my other videos lol.
Cody, I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota that the computer needed to be replaced, i pulled a computer from another Dodge Dakota and the truck runs fine, but Odometer dose not show how fast you are going, the temp, gas, oil pressure every thing is dead. would setting the Vin in the computer fix this?
It sounds like the vent needs to be reset and the pinion factor needs to be set with the scan tool. As far as for the gas temperature issues that sounds like separate issues or a problem with the PCM
Super Mario Diagnostics is sure it’s in there just like it was in the Zeus but the Zeus wouldn’t accept it. It was before we opened and my laptop was already running so grabbed that instead. I’m sure autel would do it because I’ve done it before. I’ve done it with the snappy as well but not sure if it was due to the year or software issue lol.
zack mcclain if you get one make sure it’s the 3 that way your completely up to date on the latest van systems if I were you. No complaints at with drew tech. I have the first model as well and still working like a champ
Cody’s Auto diagnostics I’ve played with the snap on rebranded one and it was great. We have a mongoose cable that has been flawless as well. I just want the cardaq as a one stop shop solution.
Can this also be done on a used PCM for a 2014 Ram 1500. Dealership told me I had bought the wrong pcm the first time so they couldn’t “program it” not i went and bought the same one with the same number and all of that. I guess my question is even if it was in another truck before can it be reprogrammed to work for my truck?
This pcm from Chrysler comes with the latest calibration in the pcm but doesn’t have the vin inside it which you have to add to be able to start the vehicle. Some pcm don’t come programmed and will need to be “flashed” in order for the vehicle to start or to tell the pcm which vehicle this pcm is Installed in. Hope this answers your question?
Cody’s Auto Diagnostics so if I was told I need to recalibrate my car to the 2005 specs Im getting it flashed or reprogramed sir? I don’t want dodge beating over the head for this i wanna be able to get my car smogged correctly
Jeqwan Williams I’m not sure what exactly your asking. If you own a 2005 vehicle then that means your getting a “flash” for that 2005 not another year vehicle. Think of it like your smart phone, software changes to fix bugs. That’s exactly what a flash or program is.
Cody’s Auto Diagnostics you helped. I figured reprograming is just that but wanted to be sure when it came down to the Magnums PCM. I just need my car updated or reset to the 05 factory specs to bring up the current IM readiness. I also found out its needed after you have any type of major work done to the car as the flash acts as the tune up for the cars Computer or Cars Brain! Thank you for you time your answer. As A Untied States Disabled Navy Veteran Thank You for your amazing work and channel. You didn’t have to help but you did!! God Bless
As I was driving, my 2002 dodge ram 1500 5.9 shut off with the gauges going to the left. I changed the crankshaft sensor and the key ignition switch and Nothing. I cleaned the wire harnesses that were connected to the fuse box. Nothing! I switched the pcm that was plug and play...Nothing! I sent the pcm back.
Let me back up a little. I have 2 02 Durango. Identical even the same color. I was having trans issues and thought it to be the ecm, (turned out to be simply a blown fuse.) While trying to fix it I switched the ecm's out and both of them started doing the same thing with the abs light flashing. I do not own a drb 3 they are very expensive.my local dodge dealership doesn't want to cooperate," they are to busy for a 20 year old vehicle " as I was told. And as far as I know thats the only way to get into the abs module to delete the code.

Andrew K haha seriously for the price of that thing it should install the pcm itself 😂

Some newer Chrysler vehicles the vin can not be changed and some module are a one time vin programming, so answer isn’t that cut abs dry.
