This is kinda like that awkward dance that happens when you encounter someone walking toward you, and you both keep accidentally blocking each other's attempts to move past each other.
Excruciating.
Totally!
@@julienolke Use the plane rule and always go to the right side.
Julie has an excellent video on that very thing!
I just climb over thier shoulders and back down again.
@@eldorados_lost_searcher I said plane, not car.
It is a convention that planes that are face to face with another plane always go right.
This is the psychological deep dive into all challenging relationships.
I STRONGLY DISAGREE! Being as famous as I am on UA-cam, I know that it gets hard to read every comment I get. I try my best, but I am just so famous, that I can't do it much longer. Sorry, dear tony

This level of miscommunication and confusion summarises my life 😂
It's like three's company, missing the straight guy pretending to be not.
At some point you just gotta give up, reach over to the passenger side door, and just manually fiddle with with the physical lock over there.
My car doesn't have a physical lock 😂
never occurred to us...
@@Sheamu5 you should able to just open the actual door latch itself then from the inside
You can just open the door from inside
I came here to say this.
“Just not while I’m locking it” the facial expressions and sarcasm makes this so relatable. Good content. 😂😂
unlocking
This is what lockdown in Melbourne feels like. Strange, kinda funny, frustrating, anger inducing and then oddly comforting and familiar, then you start singing as the weirdness sets in....
this year did weird things to all of us...:P
@@julienolke So true; luckily we have you and your amazing talents and storytelling to help us through, as we hit another lockdown. Thanks you're a star!
hahahaha exactly my thought. Except in Canadien not Melbournien... wherever it is in not Canada
@@amyt3949 Very well put, as a fellow Melburnian - we know the drill but that doesn’t make it more pleasant. Also found the wonderful Julie to help during the past 18 months.
Yup... Another Melbournian here... Lockdown #6 got me back to the Nolke Therapy Institute on/at the University of UA-cam
"It happens all the time".
Yeah. Yeah, it really does. Once again, Julie manages to make a common scenario into a funny and entertaining skit.
Don’t worry, the LockPickingLawyer will get you in with all them car picking tutorials he’s been doing lately...
The way you turned that into a 3-minute video tho. So good.
"A round, where *you* go after!"
Julie teaching a masterclass on dramatic/tragic irony in a mere 30 seconds.
The whole time I’m thinking, “Ummm she’s clicking the window lock.” Expecting that to be the whole issue at the end. 😅
Me too!
i was starting to wonder if anyone else noticed that.
*Nobody:*
*Gina:* “wHy NoT tUrN iT iNtO a SoNg?”
*Julie:* “yEaH yEaH lIkE a RoUnD.”
*start singing row your boat in rounds to unlock a car*
I'm sorry you're not as good a problem solver as we are..
@@julienolke lol
It's a good thing there was not a passenger in the car too...a three part round probably would have doomed the strategy to failure.
"There was no way to know"
One of the best things about Julie Nolke videos, which is also indicative of her comedic brilliance, is the subtle lines like that.
I love that this is sponsored by much-needed therapist counseling. The symmetry couldn't be more perfect.
I tried signing up, but I'm too eff'd up for them to accept me as a client
Wasn't there something years ago about BetterHelp being a scam?
Yes, right?!
LMFAO “yeah I think we shouldn’t go together, at all.”
At the end, Gina forgets her car keys inside the house, goes to get them , comes back and this time Gina struggles to open the door as Julie is off rhythm unlocking the door. Fortunately, they remembered the Row Your Boat song. 😂
When they say you have to do a whole song and dance to get something done, and you take it litterally.
After watching this struggle, I'm now inspired to try learning a foreign language because I now feel anything is possible. Thanks Julie!!
Glad you both arrived at the simplest solution. We use Puff the Magic Dragon when we’re on opposite sides of a swinging door.
I just talk to the person and unlock it while they are distracted listening to me, it is called multitasking. You should try it.
@@toriless But then you don't get to be serenaded by the sweet sounds of Peter, Paul, and Mary.
How does smoking pot help you with the swinging door situation?! Oh, wait, you didn't mean... Uh, sorry, I just finished watching a video about subliminal messages in songs. ; )
I was totally hopping for Julie to climb through the window or the sunroof!
Weird Julie (my fav) would have for sure!
Thinking the same ha
At the beginning, this was legit maddening. I, out loud, said "Unlock it while Julie is talking!" Then, the singing started. The row row row your boat technique is much better than ninja-unlocking the door all secret-like.
I adore this video.
i thought that Gina was intentionally locking it and trying to make it as confusing as possible to stop Julie from getting in so that she could avoid her 😅😂
That what I thought even though it's Canada and not America
She was pushing the down part of the door lock key... meaning she was locking it not unlocking it...
Yep, same here. "Oh no, it's locked ... such a shame ... Well see you next time, I guess ... Bye!"
Somewhere, at some point in Canada's history, two Canadians actually did this in real life, and laughed about it afterwards.
Or it was really cold and one of them got frost bite
Or played hockey.
I can't even imagine how be how many times they accidentally opened the door during this video😭
magic of editing :-)
None, because she was pushing dawn on the button, she actually kept hitting lock - you could also see that the driver door never unlocked. But that ruins the magic of the skit
I can't believe you made a video just out of unlocking car doors.
That's talent ! Not lying haha
😁
Why is this so frustrating, and yet so relatable?
*Julie you’ve done it again*
Why is that relatable? I really don't get it. Why not to just open the car normally?
Julie, after getting in the car and looking closely: "Wait ... You're not Gina!"
After about 15 seconds into this video about a situation that should take any reasonable person 5 seconds to resolve, I checked and saw that this video was well over 4 minutes long, and was delighted
OMG turning this simple thing that literally happens all the time into a 3-minute long relatable funny skit takes a lot of talent, respect! You're amazing 🥲😆🤣🤣🤣
I always love it when Julie and Gina are together in the sketch. So funny! 🤣You make my day! Love you! 💓💓💓
Woke up this morning and chose WARRRRRRRRR
Just like how your son wakes up and chooses faihlya
Yeah, you raised a doughnut
Four minute comedy sketch on unlocking a car door. That takes talent!
Julie: “We can figure this out”
Americans: “Oat?”
Canadians are undercover Americans until they're "soory they have to go oat the hoase tomoorow"
Love the Spaghetti Western showdown! The Good, The Bad and The Locked.
usually a julie nolke skit has a the taste of celebration, an 'eat drink and be merry' flavor; this one felt more like hemlock
Julie Nolke and Ryan Reynolds. The only 2 people in the world that have me enjoying advertisements as well.
it looks to me like she was making sure the door was staying locked.
I love how the idea is so dumb and basic but the sketch itself is so entertaining and fun
As usual, Julie is genious
Phew!!! This felt like an instructional video on how to turn a non-thing into a tense big-thing.
So no one's gonna mention how well they can hear each other through the door/glass? It's remarkable how they can hear so well.
I have never had any issues with that. You have issues.
Back in my day we had to lean over to pull the lock up and it was even worse. And we all smoked so that exertion wiped us out. This is much easier though equally frustrating. Now the bigger problem is those damn kids on my lawn.
No, its those damn kids and their music that's the problem ;)
She confronted the Olympic Committee and said yr stressin me out. Simone Byles is a mental health hero.
My gosh, this is one of my favourite kind of comedy videos. You take the stupidest or simplest kind of idea and make it seem so much larger. Well done.
I just cracked up when Gina was speed pressing the lock button while Julie was speed pulling the door handle, while the western music was playing in the background.
The videos with Julie and Gina are always my favorite.
Why doesn’t she just open the door for Julie?
Oh so this scenario makes sense now? XD
Facepalm
Better yet, why doesn't Julie just take her hands off the door handle?
That would not be funny. Besides, if you have a seatbelt on then you may have problems reaching.
Because that would make a shitty video and Julie makes GREAT videos.
I can't believe she never even *tried* to use her turn signal. I'm like 80% sure that that's part of the process.
Thier friendship is so strong that they can hear each other clearly through a glass!!!!!!!
An easy way to avoid this dilemma is to have no friends - it's worked for me for years now lol
“We can figure this out.”
...even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut. lol
I kind of wish there's the same video on Louises channel, only Julie is trying to get out of the car.
As soon as they started singing row, row, row your boat all I could think of was imagining Spock and McCoy in this exact situation. Kirk sitting in the back seat, arms full of s’mores supplies, grinning the whole time
I just thought of washing my hands for 20 seconds, it takes 3 or 4 times not just 2.
I heard Canadians don’t lock their cars.
You know, because polite.
I recently revealed the genders of my two girlfriends. It got a lot of hate and now has 30 times more dislikes than likes. I am really sad that people can be so mean. Sorry for using your comment to talk about my problems, dear greg
Sadly, new cars lock automatically. Technology just assumes that you will or are forgetting to lock it so it does it for you.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stop you from achieving your dreams, Mr robber, please wait a minute, I'll open my car for you" "After you! "
@@AxxLAfriku that got weird gotta say
@@RobertsAdra not until you reach a certain speed for longer than a certain time. Older models do it when you shift gears.
Gina is adorable. 😍
Smiling so sweetly, all the while giving the eyes of death. 😡
Oh classic! I always stand outside the passenger door for way too long pretending I don't know how doors work because I'm terrified I'll have to sing the row your boat song. Inevitably they scream through the window, "IT'S OPEN!" and I'm like, "ooooh I have to open it manually?" and then I get in just fine.
This is so flipping wonderful… Like a Haiku or a short, short story … a distillation of life’s struggles into a teacup.
When these two do a video, it instantly becomes “must watch.” Gina should’ve just rolled down the window and had Julie crawl through “Dukes of Hazzard” style.
Daisy Duke style. 😉
This is where true relationships are tested: See if someone is willing to let someone else into their life and if you're mentally in sync with that other person.
This joke will be used to the end of days.
And it will always crack a smile.
It’s impressive that you could mine this much funny out of one situation.
Big Canadian energy when you’re just trying to hard to be accommodating it escalates into a near conflict 😅
Everyone should answer this question:
who is going to be the main villain of the Julie Cinematic Universe?
Mirror Julie
@@something5683 second that. Like a Wizard of Oz kind of villain.
It's clearly Ryan George, he's the ally for the first two series and then turns over a bad pun and develops into the comic megalomaniac we know he has brewing inside.

Its rare that the Julia is not the cutest person in her videos. She still is but both ladies are talented and cute
Julie's face of absolute joy when she Finally gets in the car Is priceless.
I just did this with my roommate at the grocery store yesterday. We weren't as nice about it though XD

I love the way they make something so simple so complicated. Like life really...
If Uncut gems were about getting into a car instead of a jewelry store, it would be this
bahahahaha so true.
I feel like only people who are coordinated don't have this problem... Because I have this problem all the time and have bad coordination.
I also lock my friends in my car all the time!
Not really, Julie was being impulsive and not waiting. It takes NO coordination.
Julie's back! That couple weeks felt like forever. Just shows how much we've come to love you I guess :)
I was getting close to needing therapy.
That parody scene from the War of the Worlds spoof: *"This is sus"*
Ha ha ha.... I was just in a meeting and used ' this is great, I like this... let's keep it loose so we can change it up in the moment, but for now this is a good structure'. ha ha ha Gold!
There's evidently such a thing as two people being TOO much in sync.
After the third try I’d decide my friend was too dumb to keep being my friend. People need standards.
This exact thing happened to me once. I thought the same thing and nearly just drove off.
They are impulsive not dumb.
This is gonna be a car commercial soon. "Could you unlock the car? Come and try it yourself!"
“Did you go?...Ok so now I go 🙄”
😂
Not so fun fact: my kids and i went through this exact scenario so many times with my car that eventually one of them broke the door handle clean off the car. 😐
I wish we had thought about singing a song. 🤷♂️
Your kids have impulse control issues.
The way this wouldn’t have worked with the more recent vehicles that automatically unlock by putting your hand in the door XD I absolutely love there’s 3mins of this. Genius!
That ONLY works IF that person has a key which she did not, so you are wrong.
@@toriless this.
@@toriless I also meant that if you did it with (most) cars that do have the automatic unlocking feature the car would be going berserk with the alarm from all the locking and unlocking even without the key. I know from experience lmao.
@julienolke missed ya so much! It looked like you had a very productive break from here. You've come back with a bang! I hope these breaks are far and few between. Thursdays are just not the same without you!
Oh my gosh... the stuff you two come up with. So ridiculously awesome!
This is too stressful. If this is what returning to society looks like imma keep social distancing 😆 try again in 2022?
She's done a plant mom sketch I'm just wondering if she'll ever do hypnosis goes wrong thing. Basically while at a costume party where she's dressed up like a chicken and someone accidentally hypnotised her. She then escapes from the apartment or wherever she is and lives out the rest of the video being a chicken that is until someone releases her. Really weird idea I know sorry my little brother wanted me to ask this sorry *bows* your channel is awesome and funny
word is they had to replace 10 door handles to complete this skit because they kept ruining them! So worth it though! So funny!
Julie continues to make our days!
Clint Eastwood in his spaghetti westerns was a milk-sop by comparison with you two!
I remember this in Scary movie 4. Julie's version is better
She's making me question my existence
You were never here.
"we had to get it wrong in order to find the solution" 😂
This never happened with manual locks. Just sayin'
One of the oldest tropes on the internet.
C'mon, Julie, you can do better.
There's a reason why it is old.
When Gina said they shouldn't go together and that she'd just go, I half expected her to drive away.
After all the build up, at the exact moment she was opening the door, my cat stepped into the 1 key on the keyboard and started the video all over..... good addition to the experience cat.
Car successfully unlocked.

Vivid, tense and troubling... LOVE IT! 👏👏👏
well, as someone who has witnessed this up to try 3 IRL, im absolutely delighted to find out what the rest would have looked like. thnx ;)
When this happens I usually just park (if not already in park), reach over to the door, and unlock it there so we stop arguing.
"Something comes first, then something comes after..."
My girlfriend and I had a similar conversation last week....
Oh.my.gosh….51 seconds in I was like….”how are they making a skit out of this?! This is 4 minutes?!”
