I also have autotuner since 2019, like u said earlier I have some friends that chip tune cars with cheap tools at that time They said like, you are crazy, so much money you will have to work a lot blablalbalba then after few days they always calling me, 90% of work that we did with cheap tools on boot autotuner can do them in obd was the best tool i have ever purchased
Hello! Thanks for this video it was really helpful. Can you clone ecu with autotuner? Example you have broken ecu and used one from scrap car can you clone OEM and write used one to make it work?
I’m starting out and many tell me the autotuner is limited to the vehicles it can do and I should start with the newly released (at time of writing) Kess3 for obd and bench, can you do a video explain best options
i cant buy all tools. kess3 and flex has the most coverage. The tool producers never gave me any product just for review or test. The only brand that actually answer me and allow me to use the tool and make a review was DFB Technology. Great tool and great coverage, but has subscription .
Did you find an answer? I’m in the exact same position. I wanted to start with kessv3 but the subscription is holding me back.. I don’t know if I can make a profitable business (or how many I’ll be tuning), in this case autotuner seems a safer option.. I also was looking what cars couldn’t (yet) be done with Autotuner, but the list of compatible cars is enormous, filtiring will be impossible..
@@Hfz9ly I use Autotuner. Some cars are not there, and some that are there sometimes still dont work. Last night I had 1 BMW edc17 that was not able to read on the bench. So it is always compromise. KESS 3 is great but super expensive for all of us. Also subscription is super expensive. For me the subscription must be around 300 euro per year. This is fair enough, but producers think differently.
@@nikinik7503 hope that they keep bringing updates short term to fix these ‘defects’ especially since it’s a relativly new tool. About the subscription fee of the kessv3, we have a consensus.. Also, what did you do after you couldn’t read the ecu? Do you have more tools (which you recommend when starting)?

Every tool has his own ofset. This means that one tool can read on row below or up and so on. SO if you read the file via bench you can use it with kess via obd. But usually you have to use one tool for reading and writing
@@nikinik7503 many thanks. this is a very strange tool. so if I bench , let say Mercedes EDC16CP31 will be not a full read? to get full read must upload/download the backup on their site? that`s a lot of time wasted and very awkward way to work. for example , I can bench EDC16CP31 with PCM flash in 2 minutes and have direct flash/micro/eeprom full read ... thank you for the infos
@@TTRVision There is no tool that read full files thru obd. Only for Honda maybe. But with Autotuner edc16 is read via bench and you have all files in 1 archive. a zip file. you unzip it and then you have the files.

it depends from the ecu, not all are clonable, some, yes
