have you 2 noticed that Eren covers his ears when talking to Zeke and has them uncovered when taking to his friends because of what his mom said in season 1
The scene where Grisha is yelling about Zeke is genuinely terrifying. It isn't something that couldn't happen in our world like someone having powers to shift into a Titan, it's a parent yelling about their child while the child is terrified of them and it's, unfortunately, something anyone in the real world could experience.
@FIGHTFANNERD10 When you reinforce your beliefs so heavily onto your kid it fucks them up. I always took that part, and the part where Grisha learns from his dad, as a metaphor for kids who grew up with religious trauma.
I think Grisha's biggest mistake is his failure at being a parent. Yes, the situation was dire. But he treated Zeke as more of a means to an end rather than an actual child. When he was born, he didn't say, "Thank Ymir for blessing me with this son", all he could think about was how his royal blood would help him fulfill his goal. Zeke didn't even seem to want to be a Titan. But he wanted his father to actually love him and spend time with him so much that he was willing to throw his life away. And even after he was trying his best, all he received was Grisha yelling and being disappointed at him. So when Tom actually seemed to care for him, it's no wonder that he bonded more with him than his parents. Udo's comment about Eldians being treated worse around the world also showcases why Zeke develops his mindset. Zeke is a hurting man who's tired of it all. A brilliant Monke.
In case you didn't notice Mr Xaver was there in the end credit scene in episode 19 of season 3 but just for a brief moment when he bumped into Grisha. He was also at the end of episode 20 of the same season hugging little Zeke when Grisha was being arrested.
@@rayanabbad6988 good question. I don't think it's known but Xaver could've been in his 30s when Grisha was little...? Maybe. He didn't seem that young. So he was probably in his late-ish 50s when Zeke inherited the Beast...?
Fun fact not a lot of people notice, the "Grice" that Grisha is talking to at 10:50 appears in the Season 3 basement arc, and is Falco's uncle I believe, which is part of why Falco and Colt had to become warriors, cuz they had Eldian restorationists in their family and had to, like Zeke, prove their loyalty.
I didn't even realize that was their uncle until i was watching grisha's backstory again recently and heard him say "grice, hang in there" and it immediately clicked in my head.

I really admire that this episode proves that there's no real "villain" in this story. Zeke amongst others has done some inexcusable things, but this is not about justifying his actions, more making us understand how he got to that point. Even Grisha who was revealed to be an awful father, isn't all evil and we know it. It's all about perspective. Like many other people, Zeke's a victim of the one true enemy of this show: war. Look no further than the intro: There are no villains, no heroes, just the neverending cycle of hate, violence and destruction.
I never really thought of Grisha as evil, I honestly thought he was just a loser. Later on we see that he failed to do something and something had to be done in order for him to do it, and that to me was the point I just realized "Wow Grisha is a loser".

I'm not sure if it's confirmed in the manga, but I think the Beast Titan's appearance and abilities depends on the shifter's inherited traits and their mindset. Zeke loved to play catch (and was good at it), so his titan incorporated that with an incredible throwing ability. As for why his titan resembles a monkey, maybe it's because that was his favorite animal? After all, he was seen playing with a monkey toy as a kid. Going back on inherited traits, this is shown with shifters who are closely related to one another. Marcel and Porco's Jaw Titans are very similar. Eren, Zeke, and Grisha all share pointed ears, but Zeke and Grisha have bulky upper bodies while Eren has two sets of teeth. Eren might've inherited that from Carla (so a hypothetical Carla titan would have that too).
There is nothing in the manga confirming or denying the theory, but every titans seems to vary from shifters to shifters, so it's fair to assume that it is tied to their personality, especially given how few changes there is in the Attack titan, in light of all the other ones. The beast and the jaws have been seen to be the most maleable.
Wasn't the reason eren wasn't hairy because he received the titan as a little baby, while grisha and zeke are as hairy as a siberian coat because they received the titans when they were grown up?

There are only two characters in fiction that I can relate to given the way my life went: Zuko and Zeke. Especially Zeke, we were both unwanted and demonized by the society even before we did anything at all, we came from nations others fear and discrimination against us was (and still is) completely normalized. I also grew up to be antinatalist and I also have parents who are hardcore patriots who's ideals only continue historical cycle of abuse. They also perceived me as an object and tool for their ambitions rather than my own person. Eventually, I figured that human nature is the source of all suffering in the world and the reason why history always repeats itself so I won't help it continue. If you look closely in the background as ksaver explains his past trauma, theres an example of symbolism being demonstrated. Like how zeke was first seen holding a monkey teddy, behind ksaver was a ram teddy. I didnt actually notice it until now. Perhaps that was tom ksavers beast titan form? A Ram?
I know Mr Xaver's backstory is really sad but he really shouldn't have had a child with a Marleyan if he knew how much pain and anguish he would have brought her.
He was young and foolish once just like Grisha was.In my opinion, he thought that his wife' love for him and their child would overweight hate and fear of Eldians.
Thinking about Reiner’s life. To him from a psychological standpoint. Only his mother really wanted him. So to watch him throughout the series struggle with wanting to be a hero and respected. Makes me believe that he just wants to belong and not be hated. Which leads me to believe since the episode about kid Reiner. That he acted differently and not like his true self because of not only the training and the team needing a leader like marcel. But because he thinks nobody wants me or cares so he will be someone else.
the bit about the beast titans manifesting differently for each shifter is true. in the sasageyo intro, the dinosaurs that run with zeke's beast titan are other beast titans.
Demon Slayer is a great, wholesome story with beutiful animation Death Note is a great, dark story story... which I should honestly watch myself Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a great, almost religious story that touched my heart as Attack On Titan did... (Also when "Avatar: Legend of Genji" comes out I think you will have a little bias towards that)
I like how in their conversation Eren never explicitly says he supports Zekes plan. Instead he says the he'll "Bring 2,000 years of titan domination to an end"
Fun Fact: Eren did meant every single words he said here about ending titan tragedies, however it's in a totally different context that rephrase like this to mislead Zeke and the audience at this point.
@@ashleypanzica1316In ther logic if Zeke doing bad things to save the world from the titans is not justified because it's against our main characters But if Eren and Armin killed thousands of innocents eldians in liberio or Kruger for turning thousands of eldians for years and send them to paradise to kill the walldians is fine because they've done it for the greater good "hypocrisy"
Obligatory recommendation for FMA. It has far more consistency of quality than death note(pt2 of DN isn’t that good) and is already finished, unlike Demon Slayer, so we know it’s going to be good all the way. FMA also has amazing character work and emotional depth, which makes it the best fit.
Zeke: So... couldn't we make it so Eldians can't have children anymore and end our suffering. Thomas: Um...why not just make Eldians body's normal again so we can't turn into Titans and no longer be weaponized? Zeke: Golly, thanks Mr. Tsaver. I didn't think about that. I'm so stupid; let's do that instead! *Written by Isayama* "But this just means the Eldians no longer have a trump card!" WW1 cannons alone have already rendered Titans obsolete. There's no strategic incentive for Paradis to keep the Titan abilities.
So don't you remember that EVERYONE in the world wants to attack the Island? that they also have much more advanced technology? and suppose they do what you say, and in a couple of months all the countries realize that the Eldians can no longer become titans... everyone would immediately turn their eyes to the Island both for hate and minerals, and my question is how would they protect themselves then? with a technology 100 years behind and with a minuscule military force compared to those who would attack... remember that the only thing that stops everyone from attacking Paradise is the fear of the titans and with your idea you would be removing that, What Zeke wants (although I don't agree) is a peaceful way for the Eldians to die, not in a massacre where they would kill men, women and children with bombs and guns.

No one in this series is truly the enemy...except the viewer XD @ 9:44 according to a couple sources the reason Tom Ksaver's titan wasn't good for war was because it will be easily overpowered in close-range combat. The reason I think Zeke was because of his royal blood.

I really wanna see a "Levi/Annie" cosplay someday! You both could totally pull them off! :)
The season 3 intro at end of all those animals walking in a line were former beast titans
@30:31 I can't lie, while I LOVED your edits of the "Mouse" and "Whale" Titan haha, I never saw the "Ram/Lamb" stuffed toy in all my AoT delving! Considering the obvious parallels with Zeke having a monkey/ape stuffed animal...Nice catch! :)
I'm always in awe of how smart these two are
So yeah, Zeke's in my top 5. The original sadboy.
I feel bad whenever I see young children, they don't know yet...
Where are you from bro
My thoughts exactly….. like they’re so happy… if only they knew
@@jakemorgan7242 Born in one of the Russian republics assimilated into the empire at some point but I grew up in Poland which was abused by Russia A LOT. Russia uses these republics to occasionally stir small-scale wars that Putin can win to boost up his ratings and convince everyone that he is some sort of great genius protector who can't be replaced. Sadly, this propaganda works because Russians don't have proper access to information in a country where information has been controlled by KGB agents ever since the 90s... One of these wars made me a refugee and I ended up in Poland. But all Poles know is that I'm Russian citizen so they just see me as an enemy and persecute. :/
30:34 OMG !!! I didn't pay attention to that detail at all 😱😱😱😱😱
06:38 Thank you for sharing that insightful quote.
"If we could read the secret history of our enemies we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility"
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Now you know how I felt after watching this episode and having to wait and eternity to see the next episode! IT WAS TORTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Grisha acts exactly like Eren it's crazy. They look the exact same and their unbreakable will to fight and rebel is the same too.
@@БауыржанБайтьяков completely agree
child zeke should have protected at all cost
The mouse and whale titan edits actually got a chuckle out of me, good work on those!
12:10 that part felt too real
spiler alert
actually tom's titan is a bighorn sheep
grishas japanse rant voice is out of his world!
Demon Slayer is a great, wholesome story with beutiful animation
Death Note is a great, dark story story... which I should honestly watch myself
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a great, almost religious story that touched my heart as Attack On Titan did... Then again Fullmetal Alchemist auther and Isayama (AoT author) are good friends!
It does not matter which one you pick first... But I do recommend you to watch them all!
(Also when "Avatar: Legend of Genji" comes out I think you will have a little bias towards that)
I don’t care which comes first so long as they review all of them
The Legend of Genji is just a fan-made project, none of it is canon to the avatar universe
@@Lorem_64 When you wish Nickelodeon would pick up that instead of milking ATLA...
*Levi underestimated the MONKE POWER*
Basically everyone in this show has a good reason to keep fighting.
I love how smart these you guys are! You guys catch on quick! 😊
I like how in their conversation Eren never explicitly says he supports Zekes plan. Instead he says the he'll "Bring 2,000 years of titan domination to an end"
grisha yelling at zeke haunts especially in sub
Fun Fact: Eren did meant every single words he said here about ending titan tragedies, however it's in a totally different context that rephrase like this to mislead Zeke and the audience at this point.
Great reaction. It's easy to tell you're enthralled what's going on.
16:30 I just noticed it…he has the same “look” as he had when it happened 😱🤯
4:45 "seems supportive"
Ah yes "we know you can do it, you are our son" on the contrary tho...
At this point my philosophy with this show is “alive until proven dead”.
Can't wait for ep 20 & 21 reactions !
RIP Levi. You were awesome.
"Don't make me feel bad for Zeke"
I appreciate your sympathy, but I will never really feel bad for the dude who had so much fun throwing those rocks.
Zeke is one of my most hated characters in AoT. He perceived killing Eldians as mercy but to Levi's perspective, he's an irredeemable monster.
Wasn't it just a coping mechanism?
@@wb6012 that's some thick copium if it is
He killed Erwin, so I could never forgive him.😂
@@ashleypanzica1316In ther logic if Zeke doing bad things to save the world from the titans is not justified because it's against our main characters But if Eren and Armin killed thousands of innocents eldians in liberio or Kruger for turning thousands of eldians for years and send them to paradise to kill the walldians is fine because they've done it for the greater good "hypocrisy"
Fun fact, it was thought that Sava's Titan was a whale but later on, as seen in the episode via foreshadowing, we find out his beast titan is a Ram.
spoilie
Correct, Beast Titan manifest differently depending on the inheritors.
That's why it's called Beast Titan, not Ape Titan or Monkey Titan 😁.
You're weak if you don't like 2nd part of death note

Zeke: So... couldn't we make it so Eldians can't have children anymore and end our suffering.
Thomas: Um...why not just make Eldians body's normal again so we can't turn into Titans and no longer be weaponized?
Zeke: Golly, thanks Mr. Tsaver. I didn't think about that. I'm so stupid; let's do that instead!
*Written by Isayama*
"But this just means the Eldians no longer have a trump card!"
WW1 cannons alone have already rendered Titans obsolete. There's no strategic incentive for Paradis to keep the Titan abilities.
Wow why that's what really should have happened
Did u finish the manga ? If u did u wouldnt ask this question

You're right about Titan's looking different for each person. It's not just carbon copies of the same Titan with sommeone new at the helm. Ksaver's Beast looked like a Ram.
Attack on Titan is a show about many things, but one of them, as UA-cam essayist KaiAfterKai has said, is it's a show about un-othering the Other.
that's deep
No one in this series is truly the enemy...except the viewer XD
@ 9:44 according to a couple sources the reason Tom Ksaver's titan wasn't good for war was because it will be easily overpowered in close-range combat. The reason I think Zeke was because of his royal blood.
12:37 Hell, this yelling and the dinner yelling are too...heh
FMAB is a show that you both would like in my opinion
Fun fact: as of today, Part 2 has been fully dubbed.
It's funny Ksaver says that Beast Titan is weak in battles but in the hand of someone with royal blood like Zeke it gets very strong
Full metal alchemist is one of the best
