This informational film titled “Manned Space Flight: Quarterly Report No. 12 January, February, March 1966” was made by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sometime in 1966. The film chronicles NASA’s work regarding the Gemini Program, specifically Gemini VIII, and Apollo spacecraft flight operations with a focus on Apollo-Saturn V, Apollo-Saturn Ib, and launch vehicle The Little Joe II. The film is split into distinct sections that chronicle the different stages that lead to the eventual launch of these spacecrafts from development, to manufacturing, to launch and recovery and how the Apollo program used knowledge from the Gemini program to advance.

Thanks from Russia, I am 62 years old and at my home in St.Petersburg there is a piece of the history of that great time of the beginning
of space exploration - these are letters to me from the first astronauts: John Glenn, John Young and Neil Armstrong.
It is always interesting to learn and see something new. Good luck to everyone.

Glad to hear it! So did you get to watch the Apollo 11 Moon landing in the USSR when it happened?

@@nicholasmaude6906 Unfortunately, in the USSR, the astronauts' walk to the moon was not shown live. Only the leaders of the Soviet Union, scientists of the rocket and space industry and cosmonauts could watch. And it's sad. Thus, the entire Soviet people were not given the opportunity to be involved in a great event in the history of mankind, then they showed it in the recording. But I want to say that despite the Cold War between the USSR and the USA and the moon race, Soviet newspapers of the 60s and 70s always wrote in a respectful tone about all NASA programs. I have a large archive of articles from Soviet newspapers about all the flights under the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. Newspaper articles about the Apollo 11 flight can be viewed on my channel, as well as Neil Armstrong's autograph. Happy New Year holidays!

Neil Armstrong's successful handling of the emergency is what led to him being chosen to command Apollo 11.

The AS-201 flight, the first flight of the Saturn IB and the Block I Apollo CSM should've been called Apollo 1.
