First Board Cut On The Frontier OS18 Sawmill

- New sawmill setup on the Homestead. The Frontier OS18 sawmill is an ultra-portable sawmill designed to be set up in minutes. My friend Tony brought this powerful little sawmill to the farm and after an hour or so of leveling the track we were ready to install the saw head. The Frontier Sawmill is very well thought out and built with durable materials. The 7hp and 212cc engine is built by Lifan and the pull start fired up on the first pull. It has been a goal for us to have a sawmill on our homestead and with the amount of downed trees on our farm we can now put them to good use milling our very own lumber. We have plenty of valuable trees on our property including black walnut trees and I intend to make some homemade cutting boards from the lumber provided. As they say, black gold grows in the Tennessee Hills. Some questions that I had were "How do you set up a sawmill", "how do you level a sawmill", "is a sawmill worth the money" and "does a sawmill save money on wood". Hopefully as I continue to learn to mill on this machine those questions will be answered.

Great Video Joe! We went to Indianapolis in 1995 to buy a wood mizer sawmill. Now most of the people in this area take their logs to the Amish in Ethridge Tn to get their lumber.
