In my line of work I frequently have to install Saw-Cut Detection Loops in Drive Through lanes at the menu/speaker pedestal and sometimes at the pickup window. The installation is basically the same although the loop size is considerably smaller 18”X54” with an 18” offset from the curb and 6 loops of wire instead of three. We also use 3/8” foam backer rod over the loop and then Self Leveling Polyurethane Concrete Sealant or the appropriate sealant for Asphalt (it’s been years since I installed a loop in Asphalt) Our cut depth is 1 1/2” to 2” (more loops require deeper cuts) an I use a MAKITA XEC01 9”Powercutter (36 Volt Battery Powered Saw) with a ROC Abrasives “ROC Crusher Blade (concrete) which can be used wet or dry, my preference is wet cutting because breathing in the dust is pretty bad for you and the restaurant customers aren’t inconvenienced by the dust. I get my blades from bladesdirect.net and couldn’t be happier with them an they cut faster and more efficiently than other blades while lasting much longer. They also have specials where you get a “free saw” with a box of blades. I’ve been using an old 1/8” metal cutting wheel to “roll in” the wire and have found this method to be really easy and faster than other methods. Instead of brushing the dust over the sealant I use Baby Powder to keep the sealant from getting tracked all over the lot and it works just as well.
Thank you for sharing. Nice, well organized presentation. My only question is in laying the wires in the loop. The diagram shows the wire going around the loop cut into the concrete 3 times. But I only saw one loop in the video. So is there three or one loop in the driveway?
Greetings! I would like to know, (1) In a speed monitoring system, what system is used for calculating the speed of the detected car, by the inductive loop!? (2) How is the camera activated to capture the license plate of this car, if it is detected at a speed above the allowed speed, on that highway!?
I check my door like 4 times watching this.

👍👍👍
Where do you purchase that roll of safety loop wire…Thanks
Can you pls make a video in detail in how to connect the loop wire with panel board
