Derek, I am a warehouse coordinator at a brand new mega-warehouse that just opened in Fontana right by where you were just working. If you want to shoot me a message or contact me somehow and I can do my best to help you get in. Great pay. Warehouse picking, let down, loading, etc.
Every 6 months or so I come back to this channel to make sure Derek is alright love this dude. Some of my worst times in life in just used to lay in bed and listen to his videos 😂
Those old timers were already grandfathered in before the new policies took place. So they hire the new guys knowing they won't hit unrealistic targets so they don't have to pay them benefits, 401k, etc.
Yeah, out in the IE where there’s probably more warehouses per square mile than any other place in the US they do this constantly. Kick workers to the curb whenever it saves them a dollar. Then you just have this entire system of workers bouncing around from city to city, warehouse to warehouse, struggling to get any consistency going. I personally knew a guy who had been bouncing around like that for 9 years, all in the city of Redlands. Think he said he worked in 11 different warehouses in northwest redlands alone. Crazy
A lot of these warehouse places work you into the ground/replace you when you break or will let someone go just so management can say they're doing their job. Amazon/walmart also do this bs to employees.
I'm not surprised with Amazon. I work for an Amazon FC center. But for my particular site, you need to be PRETTY TERRIBLE to get terminated from performing poorly. I always have one of the highest numbers in my site....I'm also trained in many critical roles....so I have no fear of being let go. I would say for my warehouse people get fired more for consistently breaking general site rules like constantly getting written up for having ear buds in, being on your phone, or taking frequent, extended bathroom breaks, etc. Maybe no so much ear buds, that's more of a safety concern, but many of the rules are in place to maximize performance. But I personally haven't heard of anyone being fired for not hitting numbers.
My first big boy job in an office, I pulled out all the stops to get hired despite absolutely hating working for someone and a month later they announced myself and a bunch of others were getting laid off. Good news was despite my short time with them, I still got severance, but man does it suck to think you're being a responsible adult just for some executive to say you're not worth keeping around. But I've come to learn there's always something better. Things will be on the up and up. Thanks for all the years of entertainment, Derek.
Derek I worked at a warehouse for a while picking, and one thing you need to understand is that management doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter how fast you pick. They ALWAYS want you to pick faster. They will always have unrealistic numbers, and in the end it hurts them to fire you. Don’t get down on yourself, it happens to everyone. I’m all for leaving a 2 weeks notice before leaving a job, but I straight up walked out of that place because they didn’t deserve a notice before I left. You’ll find something that works for you, and that’s what matters most. Do what’s best for you. Your health matters
Sorry to hear that buddy. I recently resigned from my job due to the unrealistic expectations, I literally had allergic reactions due to stress. But these warehouses are looking for fresh meat that they can exploit for a buck 50. I promise you did nothing wrong.
Just recently got laid off by my job. It was a Friday and they called me two hours before my shift, so I answered because I thought I was going to get called in early. All she said was "we are letting you go" and hung up. But now I got an actually chill ass job so it totally worked out!! I guarantee the same will happen to you; just give 'er some time and it'll work out 100% :) Good seeing your vids again as always!

Bro I just rediscovered your channel. Been subbed forever!! You’re part of the reason why I ever wanted a bike! I got a 2021 zx6r and just moved from Fresno to Houston, TX! Glad to see you’re still around 👊
Stay positive, things could always be worst! Im watching this in a hospital bed with a broken leg, snapped ankle, broken foot and all my toes on my left foot broken after totaling my bike. Got a laceration on my shin so deep its halfway through my leg and was open about 4 inches tall across. Got a laceration in webbing between my big toe and toe next to it almost halfway down my foot. Luckily 6 hours of surgery they were able to save my foot with a bunch of hardware. I'll never walk the same again and im done riding but def looking on the positive side! Been watching ur channel for years, take care man and ride safe, you'll find a better job that you will enjoy more, in due time my friend.
Bro I definitely understand how that picking warehouse job is. It is for sure taxing. Working for people like that has been long off the list. I hope you get a solid job that you're pleased with man.
I'd say go work for big Brown delivery but honestly we are laying off 10 drivers a day in Orlando. They are still hiring inside guys but they are saying they are letting up to 50 people off on Thur/Fri for the rest of the Summer as volume is down. At least it's just a part time job in case you can get hired on evenings or even midnight shifts. Good luck man! I fear the next 2 or 3 years is going to be a financial collapse for many people and their families.
been watching you for like 10years bro. since getting the dr days. Really love your content ❤ I miss the enduro stuff up the mountains exploring and shit
You should really consider applying for an apprenticeship with a trade union. Electrician, sheet metal worker, sprinkler fitter, elevators (there are more but those are the best in my opinion in terms of staying employed and/or doing side work like electrical or residential HVAC.) Local 105 in your area, sheet metal workers -- you start at $22.78 and once you graduate, you're making $56.95 hourly with a 87.69 total package, which by the time you graduate it'd be more because of new union contract bargaining agreements only being 2-4 years usually. Plus, your apprenticeship is broken into years or periods, so every new period your total package and hourly wage increase until you hit journeyman.
@@kugangles9860 Hardest part for a lot of people is not smoking pot for like a month for the entry drug screening and not being a total lazy fuck. Trades around the country are hurting for workers. Trades like elevator constructors and operating engineers are difficult to get into without knowing someone because they're so small. Most others, if you put an application in to each one you're pretty much guaranteed at least one interview so long as you live in or near a decently sized city (which LA metro definitely is).

Right before your probation time is up... Typical 🙄That's just normal procedure for those companies. Thankfully I'm a forklift driver at a place where they don't care about how long it takes to load/unload a truck unless it takes crazy long. I absolutely hated order picking and the mentality of those employers... I hope you find something better soon!

Im sorry to hear about the lay off. I had a few similar situations here in Ohio. While between jobs, I decided to start motovlogging on my Honda Trail 125. Just posted my second video today! You have been a huge inspiration. I been watching you since 2012 I think. I actually got fired for "stunting the forklift" once... It was the same week that they flipped the robotic forklifts into service. Its rough out there!
Don’t take it personally. You provide a service and they pay you. That’s it. Better to sign up at a local college for a machining, electrical, plumbing, or 3d design. You won’t regret it!
Quotas. Welcome to the Soviet Union circa 2024. Anyway, i love the sound of that thing. A neighbour has one and every time he's warming it up it's like somebody's massaging my brain. There's something about that sound that relaxes my brain. No other bike does it. Just this. It's weird. Good luck with the job man. Oh by the way, that place looks a lot like Greece.
I worked at the same warehouse for 6 years. During covid they decided to double the production rates and made your pay based on your rates, but the rates were so high that no one could consistently hit them daily so they could keep everyone's pay at the very low end of the scale. They also bragged all through covid about record breaking profits, but they couldn't afford to give out raises. Best decision ever to finally quit that job. Good luck brother I did it at s Michele's warehouse and they had me working 18eens and then asking for more over time. Wish you all the luck hopefully you can get to do youtube full time.
I moved from southern Cali to Nebraska and there are jobs everywhere here and they pay good. I ride about 9 months out of the year. Winter not bad on the south west part of the state. Love you man.
Made me laugh as usual. I’m about to head to my second shift job, plus it’s my turn to be on-call after hours for the next 7 days. So thanks for the ride along.
Get your CDL. Become a local trucker. Haul dirt. That’s what I do during the week. 🤙🏻 Keep your head up bruh. You were an inspiration for me to get a bike finally. ITS A HAWG GOBLESS
Great video! I bought a Z125 two years ago after watching your Alley Crawling video! I do have an R1, but the 125 is a blast! I always watch for the mattress of the day! Sorry to hear you got laid off. My nephew and his girlfriend always told me about being pickers. 😲😎
Bro I remember watching you in highschool . You were riding your enduro I think it was? You had the troll face and everything. I had a 1970s Suzuki savage at the time as a kid and now I joined the army. Been in for 7 years and got a Harley Electra glide. Can’t believe how I found your channel and the memories ran back of me eating dinner and watching your videos. Good times man. Keep up the great content as always. And sorry to hear about the job.
Congratulations on moving on from warehousing. Keep on going; I hope you find something better in the future. I know it sucks now and it might suck some more in the future, but sometimes the next chapter is even better. I've been fired and quit jobs that were unbearable for various reasons, and then the next one that comes a long is actually better.
Ehh good morning happy Saturday from the New Zealand lands. Those are some sweet as hills, I'm always like that Ute driver if bikes are behind me especially if I know I'm holding them up I just move over and let em go,. Bit of common curtesy goes a long way. Dam that was quite the homeless tent world going on. Rip the job and good pay. Have an amazing weekend bro
Sorry to hear about your job man. It was quite the hours and expect a lot from you and all others. But you did gain some valuable intel, loss of weight even and an extra pay too. On to better pastures! 💯
I know exactly what you are saying. I work a distribution center as well and they have a crazy expectation too. They want us to have 99.88% accuracy. You definitely avoided a lot of stress and anger.
What up bro welcome back😮😂 Yeah bro the warehouse business can be pretty sketchy man you know these analysts they come up with these stupid numbers that they can't even accomplish if they went out there and did the work themselves.😂 yeah what do these managers know about picking they give you these unrealistic numbers😂 but yeah not all warehouses are bad where you have to worry about picking that's only for warehouses that they carry inventory I try to find a warehouse that cases come in and out like FedEx or UPS😂 Sanbernardino ❤
i work in warehousing but my job doesnt measure you with picking. I work in a medical warehouse and what i do is production sends us a message about what they need and we go and grab it for them. Then if they finish a job they send it out and we put it in storage on site or we set it to get shipped to our other warehouse, where then it gets sent to customers or storage. Its a fairly easy job , pays okay, just sometimes can get busy for a few months. But other then that its not bad only gripe is short staffed and they hire people who dont really have computer knowledge or aren't reliable employees.
That sucks dude, but I guess try to look at it like better to be booted out now than run yourself into the ground for these idiots. At least it put some cash in your pocket for a couple months, and helped inform the jobs you aim for next. Onwards and upwards mate.
I drive that same Crown Electric Pallet Jack you drive for Costco. Forklift will unload the truck and I will just deliver in the warehouse & no pick times. We actually have all our forklifts governed for pedestrian safety. You can drive and chill dude I think you would like it.
yooo, glad you back. Sorry about the job situations though. Collect that check though homie. Have you ever thought about getting a hospital related job. There are many and majority are Indoor and people are professional. Right off the bad, there is Arrow, Loma Linda and Redlands near you (I used to live close to Pharoes... Good memories. )
Damn mane, sorry to hear that. I'm looking again as well, the job market is crazy out here. lemme know if you're down for some San Bernarghetto grom adventures, tryna get more people to ride around with on my Z125 in the area. p.s.... My buddy has been working at the Estes warehouse in Moreno Valley for awhile, if you're interested they're always hiring.
You know, it was probably just a matter of time since these operations are pursuing robotics to take over many positions. I'd apply for unemployment while your looking.
Man sorry to hear that. One would thing some sort of organization would look into the type of stuff going on in these companies. Unfortunately, i live in the DFW area of Texas but the company i work for is expanding and might need employees if it gets bigger later on in the future. From what my boss told me, we are still relatively small so theres a ton of opportunity coming in the next decade. Best of luck man💯
Hey OG 🤟🏼 you Mann still the best Moto Vlogger ! We’ll catch a 40 oz Mickey’s at the last drop liquor in San Bernardino one day much love from Pasadena Texas
Hey Derek, sorry to hear about your job. I do Amazon delivery and while it kinda sucks its pays okay for unskilled labor, and Prime Week is coming up so all the companies are hiring like crazy; all you need is a license. Plenty of OT will be available from the 14/15th of july until the end of the month. It may be worth looking into in your area, even if you only do it for a short period of time until you land another gig. Secondly, I'm going to california on vacation next week and will most likely be in the LA area at some point. Are there any places you know of in the San Bernardino/LA area (even if they're regular spots in your vids) that you'd say you should visit at least once in your lifetime? We'll have our own camper van so getting almost anywhere shouldn't be an issue at all. Thanks!
Yea I was skeptical when you said you were excited about warehouse work as I know it is a brutal game even though the pay, sometimes, is really decent. Usually it doesn't come with benefits or anything else unless it's required by the state. It's amazing what these corporations get away with cause they have lobbyists that bribe politicians to screw the workers over. I'm glad you're out of that hellscape my dude but I know the job hunt situation is just as miserable. Job hunting has always been one of my real weaknesses, I don't know what the hell I wanna be, I just know I want to make a living wage. Currently I work as a E-vehicle mechanic for a tech startup company. I hope you fond something that you don't dread waking up and going to every day.

I was let go also. Yikez! Lots of job postings but no call backs….yet. Good luck!
Made me laugh as usual. I’m about to head to my second shift job, plus it’s my turn to be on-call after hours for the next 7 days. So thanks for the ride along.
Get your CDL. Become a local trucker.
Haul dirt. That’s what I do during the week.
🤙🏻
Keep your head up bruh.
That was very interesting, especially at the end. I left over 20 years ago, and it truly has turned into a dystopian hellhole.
Sorry to hear it brother, but such is life! Love you Baker.
I have been following you for over ten years.
Hope everything turns out fine for you bro, stay safe👌
Sucks about the job, bro. Still, nice to see you back with us more. Summer's here. Great SoCal content coming😎👍
Sorry about the job brother, another door will open!!
What up bro welcome back😮😂
Yeah bro the warehouse business can be pretty sketchy man you know these analysts they come up with these stupid numbers that they can't even accomplish if they went out there and did the work themselves.😂 yeah what do these managers know about picking they give you these unrealistic numbers😂 but yeah not all warehouses are bad where you have to worry about picking that's only for warehouses that they carry inventory I try to find a warehouse that cases come in and out like FedEx or UPS😂
Sanbernardino ❤
That blows. It's tough out here man.
We had a dam fine fall, winter, and spring this year! I miss it sooo much.2 years of good rain too, 😢 Oh well, better than the low desert.
Hey, Derek. As others have said here there are better opportunties coming. There's always more.
Would love to see you as a producer/ editor on a productive podcast
I’d like to see management or whoever set that goal to try to get 90% or better themselves.
10:12 cheek beating cove and awesome adventure music with BxD CHEAH
Try take time to upskill. Truck driving, start a trade, do some volunteering in an area you’re interested in to get experience for new jobs
Youll find somethin D. Keep ya your head up!
Sorry to hear about you loosing your job, that sucks, Whisky Chaser recently lost his job to, it's going around!
I’m a part owner of poke boat in Ontario I’d hire you way easier than picking that’s Fs ac n all
Sorry to hear that. Its rough out here, warehouse work feels like the only thing to do out here in the I.E.
i work in warehousing but my job doesnt measure you with picking.
That macaroni in the pot is STR8 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 MATE
I think its a sign to expand the UA-cam
Go and drive plant, no stress, good money (at least it is here in England) I’ve been driving Dozers 14 years now… love every minute.
metal detect that creek under ballslap bridge
Man sorry to hear that. One would thing some sort of organization would look into the type of stuff going on in these companies. Unfortunately, i live in the DFW area of Texas but the company i work for is expanding and might need employees if it gets bigger later on in the future. From what my boss told me, we are still relatively small so theres a ton of opportunity coming in the next decade. Best of luck man💯
sounds like its time for a class action lawsuit
That’s warehouse for you that’s why I do local truck driving now way easier let me know I’ll get you in
I'm down let us know!
the fact they have someone monitoring your "production percentages" numbers tells you all you need to know . be real, is it amazon?
Hey OG 🤟🏼 you Mann still the best Moto Vlogger ! We’ll catch a 40 oz Mickey’s at the last drop liquor in San Bernardino one day much love from Pasadena Texas
Trying to eat my pizza and my roommate hears this 9:26
4:32 missed opportunity for a rim job joke
@13:37 What a beautiful shot ~
When you said "Unioned" I knew you were gonna be aight. Just a bump in the road, bro.
I feel ya bxd , old picker here . Another thing to is when the product isn't in the location listed . I put in 11 years at Reebok in Indianapolis In.
Dude, you should apply at Costco. Great benefits and realistic work schedules.
Baker, stop working for the man, cheeeeeaaaah. 💪
Too bad youre not in Swamp Wizard country. Id have ya handled out with a good job. Good luck on youre search brotha and we are always here with ya. See ya on twitch Capt Mushroom tip.
