Great question and explanation, but I solved it quicker in this way: After getting 2x^2-2x=4, with a little bit of simple math, we get (x-2)(x+1)=0. For lhs to be 0, x either needs to be 2 as (2-2)(2+1)=0, or x needs to be -1, as (-1-2)(-1+1)=0. Anyway, good video.
The quadratic formula part could've been simplified and sped up if you factored it out instead of solving using the quadratic equation. Otherwise, nice video.
I started with doing both sides of the equation as powers of 4 instead of 2. Not sure if it's easier mentally than dividing the extra 2 out later, though.
Why you are solving it through quadratic formula? Instead of using it you can use splitting middle term or factorization. I think it is less time consuming By the way "Nice problem"
We know it doesn’t. The only more useful math are statistics areas, which are often used in the areas of investments and financial calculations. Such math are only for academic purposes, and of course if you’re in academic.
По теореме обратной теореме Виета: х=-1; х=2. УСТНО! Или по утверждению: сумма крайних коэф-ов равна среднему , следовательно, х=-1, а второй корень =свободное слагаемое деленное на старший коэф-т с противополодным знаком!
@@j5tp I agree with OP, he basically treats the viewers like idiots. If you even need to be told and shown workings that 2/2=1 or double negative is positive, this person shouldn’t even be studying middle school (grade 8/9) math. Obviously people that will even view such videos knows basic math, otherwise one should consider seriously his/her suitability in this level of math.
No wonder I hated math. In what field of study or career would you EVER need to figure out equations like this? The only numerical values in my life that matter to me is the balance in my checking account ffs.

From JPN, Thank you for your
brilliant video. Good Flow of
maths calculation.
Thanks and welcome
okay its a nice explanation
Thanks! Glad it helped
As a South Asian I solve this entire problem in my brain.
Same but im from an african household
Same but i come from an African household😂👑
Not only you bro. We, from other continents, can also solve it mentally. We ain't dumb.
@@_Magic_Mike_ Chill. We didn't say u dumb
@@_Magic_Mike_ lol agreed
very patient and pedagogical explanation. your students (if you are a teacher) must be very happy.

We can do middle term splitting as well 🙂

X^2-X-2=(X-2)(X+1)=0
therefore, X=2 and -1
Yup
Right you
I got it! Thanks!
Great! You're welcome!
Good video, nice explanation!
Good vids. I’d say you could cut some of the number crunching steps out, especially when checking the answers.

thank you very match
Thanks 🙏👍
Isn't it easier to sub 2^2x with a.
Then (a^2)/a = 2⁴
a = 2⁴
2^2x = 2^4
2x = 4
x = 2
I know I missed the case for -2. Depend to thinky where I lost it
Why don't you solve Viet's theorem? It's much easier and faster!
Brilliant!
You can solve the problem without using the quadratic formula. Much easier to see the base as powers of 2 and using the rules of exponents to solve.
2x^2-2x=4
x^2-x=2
x=2 or -1
The answer can know in X^2-X-2 = 0
That (X-2)(X+1)=0
And then X = 2 or -1
Dont to use the a b c solution to lost the time.
I have no issue solving math equations. My challenge is how does solving complex math problems translates into real-life usability.

x^2 - x = 4

The one in the thumbnail has two solutions: x=-1 or x=2.

x=2

마지막에 인수분해로 해도 2,-1나오는데...어렵게 푸네...
You don’t need to write 1 as numerical coefficient. Use your common sense!
This gentleman likes complicating his solutions...
So that beginners could understand

Too many unnecessary steps.
