Generally, when someone refers to an interpretation of something, they are implying that the person in question is expressing it differently....maybe even making it their own. "Je suis Melade" is a good example. It is not Lara's song but she interprets in a way that is different from the original in a way, I believe, makes it her own! That is an interpretation! Whitney Houston interprets Dolly Parton's song " I will always love you" differently and made it her own. If Dolly were to sing that song now, I wouldn't consider it an interpretation of the song because she's singing it in it's original form...
