This is the most ass kicking Queensrÿche track I have heard since anything off of Mindcrime. The lyrics & the vocals are simply amazing, the drums are off the hook, the riffage is stellar and the bass sounds exactly like it should. I mean wow! I'm blown away for real. I've been waiting for a QR song like this since 1989.
The more i hear the new Queensryche mayerial the more i love it. Forgetting about the quarrels between the band and former (great) singer; these songs really stand head and shoulders above everything post Empire and they are a really strong unit live too. I saw these guys way back supporting Dio and back then you knew they were special and Warning was that nod to great things to come with Rage being my favourite record.

One just does not sound like Geoff Tates and expect to come in with a record company fighting for him to get record deals. Sometimes, if you have a skill that can be used to substitute for something that's already been established isn't a bad deal. I'd say, being signed on by Queensryche is actually a good thing for Mr. Todd, otherwise, people won't even care to hear someone who sounds like Geoff Tates back in the 80s. "Opportunity" is something we constantly have to battle and when it's knocking at your door step, you'd be pretty stupid not to take it....otherwise, you may still be just jamming in your garage with your garage band. Heck, if I sound like Tates, I'd be forming a tribute band and I'd be gigging in Las Vegas right now...but if by chance, Queensryche decides to hire me, I'd be quitting my little tribute wanna-be band in a heart beat. lol.
As I mentioned before, like it or hate it, compare it or not, Qryche now sounds and looks like a band of MEN. They are the real deal if you ask me, and instead of focusing on who is better or who is an a$*?0&e and who is not, I'd like to focus on the sunny side of life and say that I'm sold. I've seen them live, I've heard what these guys can produce in the studio and I'm on board. BTW, Eddie Jackson is and has always been THE MAN!… one of the most low profile underrated bass players in heavy metal, and when he is performing live, he is a freaking bulldozer. Keep it up boys!

born in 88, went to hell 'n back, still kicking ass, one of those worth things about growing my way up throu 90's n 2000's was the chance to have know this band, n still live to see them once more on the top of their career, de La Torre is one of my favorite singers, and overall the music with new contra-tempos is just amazing, I'm so glad that you guys have got to open yourself to more complex composing and over kicked it by getting a great vocalist, thanks Queensrÿche for making music so special!!!
I don't care what anyone thinks, Todd has injected this band with a shot of pure badassery that it desperately needed. Geoff is gone. Nobody is bringing him back or his voice. What we do get is something I think is arguably better. It is Queensryche 2.0. Todd is not some meat puppet front man that they just push here to sing. He is a very involved member of the band. He is also accomplished on several instruments (most notably the drums) so he understands sounds and rhythms. This makes him a valuable song writer along with the rest of the guys. This chemistry with the rest of the band is working. I just checked for tickets on some of their upcoming shows and they are sold out. What is even more telling is the shows where they are solo with no opener or other headliner are also sold out. People want to see THIS Queensryche...
Queensryche...Welcome Home! OMG! The best song I've heard since the Promised Land album. And people tried to say Todd LaTorre was a GT clone? Listen to that tonality when he drops to his lower register...that is pure Todd LaTorre and it is magnificent. His upper register isn't quite as high but is just powerful and pure...signature Todd. The twin lead guitars are so back where they belong. It sounds like a "band" again. The drumming is classic Scott and he is playing like he really wants to be there. That bass line is classic Eddie, and again, he just sounds like he wants to be doing this. If you are a long time music fan (I'm a 60 year old fart) and if you know even a little bit about vocals and musicians, you can almost feel when bands are tight and when they are forcing it. This band sounds tight and in my humble opinion, Queensryche is here and now. Can not wait to get this album. Early reviews have been awesome.

I personally don't think Todd's upper register is quite as high as GT's was in his early years but I think Todd's upper is still powerful and I think his lower register and mid range are powerful and full of emotion. He has gained much more confidence fronting this band and after that first "Queensryche" album, Todd really came into his own on this one. After my first "listen" to this album, I liked it. But now, after listening to it several times, I honestly believe it ranks right up there with anything they did around the "Empire" period. I am just blown away by this, I really am. +hypnometal Ya, his smoking and drinking attributed to the loss of his higher register but mostly, I think it was just natural age and the number of years and concerts he put those vocal chords through. I remember that screaming voice back on "Queen of the Reich" and those early records and his upper register was incredible, especially his ability to sustain those peak notes. Just my humble opinion, but I think there is a certain bitterness he felt losing that wonderful ability, which changed his attitude toward performing the earlier material in concert and driving the band in a direction he was comfortable with. I suspect, someday, the same thing could happen to Todd LaTorre, but hopefully, he will take better care of his instrument. Take care my friend. Didn't mean to ramble. I'm old...lol.
I am just glad that one of my favorite bands could get back together and do this project. People please stop cutting bands that break up down. This is good material. Before you cut them down I'd like to see you get up and perform and play.
There are bands you grow up loving who stray so far off the path they were on when you fell in love with their music. Every album you hope for just a glimmer of that sound to come back, only to be met with disappointment. Queensryche hit critical mass with Dedicated to Chaos, an album that was so far away from the sound that I fell in love with that I was ready to throw my hands up and call it a day with this band. Thank goodness for Todd LaTorre entering the fray, this band sounds reenergized and has found that sound that I fell in love with here!

Love the song! Todd does a good job and the band rocks. I am really looking forward to this release, as well as Operation Mindcrime The Key. This whole childish name calling because someone likes Tate's music, or someone likes the current Queensryche, is idiotic. I like both, and do enjoy Tate's artist vision more in most cases. This is good however! Can we simply like what we like? I'm going to guess that the average age here is over 35, why are so many acting like 12. Can't we all just get along?

This is rock music for the most part, if we reject music based on someone perceived character, there is many artists we can no longer enjoy. I still remember riding my bike to the mall to buy The Warning after a friends older brother played it for me way back in early 1985. I wore that, and every other QR album for the next 15 years or so out. QR has new life, and it shows. Looking forward to this album and seeing them live every chance I get.

Actually if one really listened Todd does not SOUND like JWT, 2 different singers with different styles. I for one am grateful this band has found a means to move on and having fun at it! JWT is doing his own thing, doing it his way, and if that is what one is into who is to say otherwise, it's all about what stimulates the cranial cavity and everyone is different.
After the excellent effort they made with the previous record, I have really high expectations for the new one. And I like what I'm listening to so far! Can't wait.

Solid song, solid video. Loved everyone in this clip too -- both musically and their demeanor in the video. The video editing was badass as well. That blood effect was great, and the quick camera cuts and effects were fantastic. JD Power and Associates should rate this 5 stars.

I followed the Tate split very closely and 99% of the problems that existed were because of him and his ego. Just shut up already with the spamming posts of ignorance junior before you hurt yourself.

born in 88, went to hell 'n back, still kicking ass, one of those worth things about growing my way up throu 90's n 2000's was the chance to have know this band, n still live to see them once more on the top of their career, de La Torre is one of my favorite singers, and overall the music with new contra-tempos is just amazing, I'm so glad that you guys have got to open yourself to more complex composing and over kicked it by getting a great vocalist, thanks Queensrÿche for making music so special!!!
I don't care what anyone thinks, Todd has injected this band with a shot of pure badassery that it desperately needed. Geoff is gone. Nobody is bringing him back or his voice. What we do get is something I think is arguably better. It is Queensryche 2.0. Todd is not some meat puppet front man that they just push here to sing. He is a very involved member of the band. He is also accomplished on several instruments (most notably the drums) so he understands sounds and rhythms. This makes him a valuable song writer along with the rest of the guys. This chemistry with the rest of the band is working. I just checked for tickets on some of their upcoming shows and they are sold out. What is even more telling is the shows where they are solo with no opener or other headliner are also sold out. People want to see THIS Queensryche...

This is great. It has that progressive element found on Rage, the energy of Mindcrime, yet sounds bang up to date. Love it. The band sound amazing.

Queensryche...Welcome Home! OMG! The best song I've heard since the Promised Land album. And people tried to say Todd LaTorre was a GT clone? Listen to that tonality when he drops to his lower register...that is pure Todd LaTorre and it is magnificent. His upper register isn't quite as high but is just powerful and pure...signature Todd. The twin lead guitars are so back where they belong. It sounds like a "band" again. The drumming is classic Scott and he is playing like he really wants to be there. That bass line is classic Eddie, and again, he just sounds like he wants to be doing this. If you are a long time music fan (I'm a 60 year old fart) and if you know even a little bit about vocals and musicians, you can almost feel when bands are tight and when they are forcing it. This band sounds tight and in my humble opinion, Queensryche is here and now. Can not wait to get this album. Early reviews have been awesome.

+hypnometal That's ok. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's what music is about. I personally don't think Todd's upper register is quite as high as GT's was in his early years but I think Todd's upper is still powerful and I think his lower register and mid range are powerful and full of emotion. He has gained much more confidence fronting this band and after that first "Queensryche" album, Todd really came into his own on this one. After my first "listen" to this album, I liked it. But now, after listening to it several times, I honestly believe it ranks right up there with anything they did around the "Empire" period. I am just blown away by this, I really am. +hypnometal Ya, his smoking and drinking attributed to the loss of his higher register but mostly, I think it was just natural age and the number of years and concerts he put those vocal chords through. I remember that screaming voice back on "Queen of the Reich" and those early records and his upper register was incredible, especially his ability to sustain those peak notes. Just my humble opinion, but I think there is a certain bitterness he felt losing that wonderful ability, which changed his attitude toward performing the earlier material in concert and driving the band in a direction he was comfortable with. I suspect, someday, the same thing could happen to Todd LaTorre, but hopefully, he will take better care of his instrument. Take care my friend. Didn't mean to ramble. I'm old...lol.

I am just glad that one of my favorite bands could get back together and do this project. People please stop cutting bands that break up down. This is good material. Before you cut them down I'd like to see you get up and perform and play.

There are bands you grow up loving who stray so far off the path they were on when you fell in love with their music. Every album you hope for just a glimmer of that sound to come back, only to be met with disappointment. Queensryche hit critical mass with Dedicated to Chaos, an album that was so far away from the sound that I fell in love with that I was ready to throw my hands up and call it a day with this band. Thank goodness for Todd LaTorre entering the fray, this band sounds reenergized and has found that sound that I fell in love with here!

Love the song! Todd does a good job and the band rocks. I am really looking forward to this release, as well as Operation Mindcrime The Key. This whole childish name calling because someone likes Tate's music, or someone likes the current Queensryche, is idiotic. I like both, and do enjoy Tate's artist vision more in most cases. This is good however! Can we simply like what we like? I'm going to guess that the average age here is over 35, why are so many acting like 12. Can't we all just get along?
Other than the trolling issue, which both sides are fully engaged in and is a waste of time, just as my post's are. I think we are getting a little thin skinned. This is rock music for the most part, if we reject music based on someone perceived character, there is many artists we can no longer enjoy. In my opinion, the telling a crowd that they suck is not a big deal, that is done all of the time at shows in different ways to elicit a response. The spiting incident was anger. Not saying he was right, but anger makes people do stupid things. I enjoy what I enjoy because it sounds good to me. I don't need the artist to be an amazing person. I still like Tate's voice, and most of his music. This new Queensryche song is my favorite of this line so far.

As far as Tate goes, well for me he was responsible for destroying the band I love. He went from rock god to a lying, hypocritical, arrogant douche bag. Your logic of ignoring a performer's negative character when it comes to their music I can't agree with. I base a lot on what I listen to and watch on who created the media. I'm not going to support a performer who is lacking decency.
One more thing, you in way condoned the spitting incident as something done in anger. Well that happened midway through their set. I highly doubt he was still seething mad at that point. Seems to me it was a calculated move and wasn't done out of pure anger but out him being a total pompous idiot.

I still remember riding my bike to the mall to buy The Warning after a friends older brother played it for me way back in early 1985. I wore that, and every other QR album for the next 15 years or so out. QR has new life, and it shows. Looking forward to this album and seeing them live every chance I get.

Actually if one really listened Todd does not SOUND like JWT, 2 different singers with different styles. I for one am grateful this band has found a means to move on and having fun at it! JWT is doing his own thing, doing it his way, and if that is what one is into who is to say otherwise, it's all about what stimulates the cranial cavity and everyone is different.
After the excellent effort they made with the previous record, I have really high expectations for the new one. And I like what I'm listening to so far! Can't wait.

Solid song, solid video. Loved everyone in this clip too -- both musically and their demeanor in the video. The video editing was badass as well. That blood effect was great, and the quick camera cuts and effects were fantastic. JD Power and Associates should rate this 5 stars.
