Squirrel Flower - Field Recording (Full Session)

- Squirrel Flower performs live at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA, for a Front Row Boston socially-distant session. Ella O'Connor Williams discovered the Boston DIY and folk music scenes when she was a teenager. Last year, she released her debut I Was Born Swimming, a poetically-charged album that landscapes change and the shift within relationships. "There's so much in the record about movement and stagnation," Williams said. "Feeling stuck, needing to move, needing to stay still, swimming, falling, running, growing, etc etc. The album's lyrics feel like effortless expression of exactly the way it feels to change - abstract, sad and hopeful." Williams took home the award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2020 Boston Music Awards.
This performance was recorded on January 13, 2021

The recording sounds better than many studio albums.
I was watching a TV program and at the end this session came on playing "I don't use a trash can" I had to save it and listen over and over again it, to me, brought me back to how I felt when listening to Julee Cruise and Mazzy Star. I can get list.in it. Beautiful
Omg same here !!!!!!!!! That’s so crazy I over heard it on my daughters tv and was drawn to it and felt so many emotions !!!! 😭
I agree, its a gorgeous track, one of my faves by her. so raw. i wish she would release an official video for it
This came on after a program on PBS just now. I cannot recall ever recall a song moving me like this. "Magical" & "Spellbound" fall short! A sacred moment being shared here. I just "Closed my eyes and ...let my body sway" while listening. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift and talent with us! 🎵☮️🙏🕶
oh my heart
This is wonderful. PBS should feature it or at least provide a more prominent link to it on their website.
