What a wonderful song. I have come to love essentially all songs including the word Hallelujah (except that hideous one by Leonard Cohen), because the word means GOD BE PRAISED! Modern Christianity seems to preach and think, that God is created for our pleasure. According to the Bible, it is of course the other way around: God created mankind for His pleasure! Assured in our salvation for our faith in Him alone, we should ask ourselves, if we live to be a pleasure to Him!
The GREATEST BLESSING WITHIN OUR ABILITY TO COMPREHEND !!! And the PEACE we know and feel as a result of this incredible gift to each of us from our GOD ALMIGHTY !!!
It’s the best Easter hymn, and one of the greatest hymns of all time. I went to an Easter service a few years ago at a church with “contemporary” music and they didn’t even sing it! I was so disappointed! But now I’ve found a church with traditional hymns! ❤
