Great review of the Dent Guard. I have seen it popping up everywhere on Facebook and was wondering how well it works. They look super easy to apply on the right vehicle, like my Kona. I have seen other inferior-looking products (probably from China) that seem to cover the size of one car door which clearly would not be any good. From what I can see, the magnets appear fairly well protected by the fabric/material which would probably minimise scratching, and at the end of the day, a few very minor scratches is still much better than a whopping big ugly dent. Looks like I might have to get myself a set of these! thanks for the review!
Hey Chris - I should get all my mates to jump on board and write bias reviews for me too 🤣🤣🤣 The people should know, you're mates with the bloke and its soooo obvious...lol What's more, I take note of your comment how the product will "probably minimise" scratching to your own car... WHAT?? . Dude - does anyone want "ANY" probable scratches???? I dare say NOT!!! Does anyone want to take the risk ? And, you should also get your facts right. Making unintelligent assumptions makes everything about this all the more silly 😉😉
What you haven't addressed, is that ; If your car is dirty and you apply the product onto a dusty car, a hard-attached magnet will scratch your car. As you apply this product on your vehicle time and time again, you WILL scratch the car. Moreover, I watched as you slid the product a little here and there, to kinda get it right. With a "not-so-clean" car, you WILL scratch your own car, thus doing more damage than good. Secondly, given that it doesn't look like its hard attached at the bottom, I can tell you, if it becomes a windy day, that will fall off and probably do more damage to your car. I'm not sure if you really looked into those situations where they are real life scenarios that consumers would want to know. To apply a hard attached magnet-based product, the car needs to be clean all the time. And who wants suction cups on their car? Really? In your next reviews, I feel you probably need to be more transparent, not so bias and transparent to your viewers. 🤔🤔
Thanks for watching and for your feedback. In fairness I used a car that wouldn’t be suited to the magnet application because I was filming a review on the Polestar 2 at the same to save on my costs when reviewing products I don’t get paid to review. I have since filmed a review of Dent Guard on a Jeep Grand Cherokee and on a MG4 XPower, no issues on either car with it holding, and had both parked in high wind car parks at the airport for several days. Having tried this product now on several coloured cars (none of the cars are washed prior) I haven’t had any scratching. If you lived in an area where there is more iron-rich sand, I definitely could see the concern as valid. That being said, I have just looked up your product (no doubt you feel yours is superior and are “review jacking” dent protection reviews to try and get exposure for your product) With it being strapped around the window and door, you also risk scratching the body work (except instead of small 5 cent piece sized magnet spots, you’d potentially scratch the full contact pad area and you’d risk having an adverse impact on the integrity of the door seals that your straps go over after multiple uses, it also seems quite a process to use the product. If you feel these observations are incorrect, I’m happy for you to send us a test unit to review (happy to send it back to you once finished at my cost for shipping) and I can share my review and insights on my channels. Just a warning, the review would be filmed with whatever car I am reviewing that week. Thanks again for sharing your insights and watching.
@@roadtrip_reviews G'day mate.. If it's okay - let us reply to each part of your response, so that we can follow the flow of each other's feedback. At the same time, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. You say that you used a car that wouldn't be suited to the vehicle you were testing. My response to that would be; Why and how does a customer know that their car would or would not be suited to the product when they buy it? If your Polestar wasn't suited then does that mean the product would exclude any or all Polestar type vehicles? Which means, the product has its limitations with the type/ style of vehicle in a sense. That to me, is probably not a great start to be honest for the product. So, in other words, the product is limited to what cars would suit - correct? Addressing the scratching part - Are you suggesting that, if you were to apply this product on a dirty car almost on the daily (seeing that you would use it at work let's say where you park in an active location which requires you to apply the device daily) - are you suggesting the product would not eventually invoke significant hairline scratches to your car? Cause I can bet you a million bucks it would. So, let's do this! On those same (coloured) cars that you tested; I'd like for you to place the product on there on the daily. I'd like for you to take images of the before and after and let's see how you go. I'm pretty confident that if I used that on my own car, and as sensitive the paintwork is, I'm almost certain it would scratch my car, as the material is too firm to accommodate dust on a car without scratching, given it's a "hard-attached" to a vehicle. As you may or may not know, there are quite a few companies that do sell "magnet-based" product and all of them have a disclaimer that vehicles need to be clean before applying the product. Let's address your comment about "review jacking". We are all for free enterprise and the way we see it, the more competition the better, as it helps everyone maximising the exposure of the product/ concept, thus increasing the market proposition for all to enjoy. We have been in a competitive landscape forever - it's a fact of business, right? So, no issues there. We deem only relevant to offer a consumer both real facts and options for their own consideration. We are not in the business of fabricating lies to the common Australian customer like "some" have been doing. Some people, (they'll shall not speak thier name) had announced publicly to the world that they have invented the first in the world this product/ concept, where in fact it was derived from America - did you know that? This is not their invention, and we have material from their product of its historical location from a company in the US. Additionally, did you know they are the "best seller" (as per their website) in the country after just being in the market for 2 months? - all I can say is WOW - these people are amazing hahahaha.. (sorry, had to throw that in) I just wanted to share the integrity of the fabrication of truth that comes out of this company and what's more, their marketing team have been busted trolling our socials to capture ideas and have mimicked our marketing and almost our entire business model onto their own, so, yeah, that's how that's goes. In terms of your comment relating to our product and your commentary, I'm glad you pointed those areas out for us. Here's my response. Have you seen/ watched our videos? We have been testing our product for over 5 years and we can promise you, our product does not scratch the car with the straps the way they are. I personally own a very expensive car and I can assure you; it has been used for the purpose of our testing and it does not scratch the cars at all, even with ongoing use. What's more, it takes seconds to install comparison. Plus, our videos are not edited, meaning, when we demonstrate the banging of a car door onto our product, you can actually see how hard and massive the hits are, to the point where you can see the frame of the car-door shuddering, it's that hard, yet, there are no dents - nothing. Sir, with regards to your product review invitation, we fear there may be some bias. In another time and place, we would jump to the invitation, though we are more inclined to pass for the time being. We apologise for waffling on, as you can tell, we are also equally passionate about what we believe in 😊😊🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@NoDingCarDoorProtector I made it clear in the video that the product would in fact require the suction cup version for shaped cars like the Polestar 2 and that the team at Dent Guard could advise. I don’t know the Dent Guard people from a bar of soap (couldn’t even tell you who owns them), we simply reviewed the product that was sent to us, so not sure why you feel there’s a bias from our offer to review your product and are scared to have us review your product if your product is as fantastic as you claim. Yes, anything being applied to paintwork over time if there’s small amounts of dust or debris would in fact cause scratching, but would protect from dings. Wish you the best with your business
@@NoDingCarDoorProtector also I chose to still post this video because it shows the product and still demonstrates what is it capable of helping with, but at the same time pointed out that it wouldn’t be suitable for all cars. Can’t be more transparent than that. Other reviewers would have chosen only to show it on cars that it is compatible with.
