i’ve been using an ipad this semester for university, and while i agree it doesn’t really do anything that a phone or laptop can’t it still surprises me how capable it is. most of my editing projects are on my macbook so until i can get a mac mini i thought the ipad would be a good solution for school since i don’t want to risk something happening to my laptop. i do really like the multitasking on the ipad though and my artist friends say it’s amazing for drawing.
*Watching and commenting this from my iPad, I think the biggest benefit comes when you pair it with the Apple Pencil.* I recommend iPad if you are an artist because you can’t draw on your MacBook It’s also said that any ideas you just realised can be put down more easily on the iPad than the iPhone or the Mac because you treat it like paper and you write instead of type. And it’s also good for gaming with a larger screen -> more visibility of your game environment and enemies. And if you think you won’t use the benefits all that much you can try getting a refurbished iPad Air and put it with a Logitech Crayon (a cheaper Apple Pencil that doesn’t feel like a knockoff) and a Logitech or ESR keyboard
@@ahmedshakeel5112 another pilot here I am using an iPad Air 11in m2 it’s a tiny bit bulky but it’s great for me since I wanted to see the display a bit a bit better but if you do get an iPad make sure you get a cell plan for it
I’m mainly an android user as I have a Google phone and a Samsung laptop. But for someone who is in university and someone who also draws art digitally, the iPad is perfect for me because I can take it anywhere and draw or take notes. It’s also really great for watching media
I’m privileged enough to be able to use all three for school thanks to being provided an iPad by the school I attend a class at, it’s definitely useful , especially for maths, and annotating sheet music.
I thought so too but as a student it’s sooo helpful like it helps in reading due to the size and taking notes but it does not replace a Mac it’s just extra comfort you know
As a music student, I’ve seen so many people at Uni use an iPad to read sheet music from as instead of needing to bring stacks of pages and books they can just read from online sources. I too thought iPads weren’t too important until realising this was a possibility.
I had an iphone and a macbook for years, I recently got my first ipad, my screen usage on on iphone and mac has been reduced. I would say an ipad is a mix of iphone and mac especially for content consumption. but you will still need an iphone and a Mac.
Some people say iPad’s help with studying. And while I think is true for me, it’s only to read. I can’t take digital notes because I retain little information, whereas if I take and study in paper I retain and perform so much better. So I think the only thing that can do very well for students is for reading and taking notes while reading. Paired with a keyboard is very good. But I still think Macbooks are better and more useful for school. So in a limited budget I would rather spend in a Macbook than a new iPad + Pencil + Keyboard. It doesn’t make sense.
I use my mini for a multitude of things, since I’m in the ecosystem it’s really like a control panel for everything. And when it’s productivity or gaming time, it turns into more of a third screen/ second device to run certain apps that innately run better on iOS, another example it’s an awesome hub for Spotify and w the multi tasking you can measure whatever app you need w whatever you have open. It’s been useful, and it helped me a lot thru school too. I have a personal training business that I use it for to have as a separate machine just for my info on that. It’s very capable. Safe travels!
I’ve been using an iPad mini since 2016 (first and iPad Mini 4 from 2016-2021, then an iPad Mini 6 from 2021-present), and I’ve never bought any other device (no Apple Watch, no Mac, and yes, no iPhone). It’s perfect for my gaming, writing, travelling, streaming, and schooling needs. It’s like an iPhone but more practical, nearly just as portable, and has better speeds.
I don't think it's a replacement for either of them, but it's a good alternative that can do both things with a touchscreen. So I wouldn't say it's useless but also I wouldn't say it's the best thing apple ever did.
ipads have use, but they can be limited depending on the type. Iphones and macbooks have a variety of types that can do different things, making them better than the ipad. So yes, they have use, but like i said, it depends on the type.
I have a basic laptop and phone, not apple. However I love my IPad, I use the 9th gen and it is my go to device for notetaking/studying, e-books, and general browsing. I use my laptop for my things that require more storage and software and my phone for communication. My IPad is my catch all go to device.
it’s in between the iphone and macbook-you’d want a bigger screen but not have the keyboard, there’s also the apple pencil you can add to it that said, I love my ipad mini and wish more could be added to freeform
TWO things iPads are superior for: (1) cellular data + big screen and (2) drawing/ taking handwritten notes. I want to use cellular data for work, but my phone screen is too small to view big PDF files. Have you ever tried notetaking with an Apple Pencil?
I have an I pad mini that I think is 4th gen and it works great still I use a gen 8 (normal) to watch UA-cam at night and that iPad minis battery health is immaculate. It’s a little slow but you can still use it for just watching tv on the go or anything like that
Definitely worth it as a tech person. I can say if you ever need an extra screen for you MacBook use your iPad with sidecar in your Mac you want a more notepad feel buy a paper like screen protector and use your iPad as a notepad because it has the Apple Pencil and no other apple device has that. you can also use the iPad as a display photo frame nothing any other current apple product can do and there is just so much more with the iPad but then it also comes down to personal preference wether you like the iPad or not

I have an iPad Air 4th Gen and I LOVE it. When I’m home, I use it more than my iPhone 13 Pro. I really love the Apple Pencil and Screen. And my iPad is faster than my Lenovo Windows 12 laptop!
I’m considering buying an iPad for drawing with, because it’s bigger than a phone and therefore easier to draw on, and smaller than a Mac with touch screen abilities to be able to draw. I think a lot of the biggest draws for the iPad is from artists for these reasons personally
Usually I don't like any apple products since they offer less for the money but as an artist I have to agree that Ipads are great to use for making digital arts though for normal cases I wouldn't recommend it since you can do everything in your phone but as an artist? Yeah it's great
