Have you finished the track set up? If so, what else did you do to your suspension for the new wheels and tires?

Geoff Lockley Set up isn't finished, but the car ATM is on some 35mm APEX springs all round, struts are a couple years old, so still ok. OE front arms have been bushed with power flex, and so has the gearbox mount. Using the car a couple days a week at the moment to try and see if there is any bits that need smoothing out before the rest of the car's set up is done in the spring ready for track days.
Only just realised, that I haven't done an update video on the TT, as visually, a few things have changed. Ill do one next week.

@@Mexicanfab Mex, the reason I ask is because I am restoring a 2001 Audi Quattro 8N 225bhp 6 speed with a stock K04 turbo too! I am in the process of installing a LuK 6 speed clutch, pressure plate and friction disk, timing belt, water pump, hitachi coil packs, NGK plugs, FORGE 008 diverter, wastegate actuator, and every new silicone hose FORGE makes plus a whole lot more... I rescued the car from the 2nd owner with 154,000 miles thinking that this would be a cool project for my son and I as a car he can drive to school and be one of the coolest kids at his high school prom this year.
The car came with a matching set of MB Wheels ICON model and completely worn IRONMAN iMOVE 235/40 ZR18's, Since the tires were so bad I planned on replacing all 4 tires once we installed a Raceland coil over suspension kit. Here's where things went wrong for me. The ICON wheels are a .45 offset and at 235 width that didn't allow the front wheels to fit and not rub without 15mm wheel spacers unlike the stock .32 225 wide wheels . Now that the ICON wheels are spaced properly the car's stance is at least 30mm wide to side to side. Since the car is on a lift with the transmission on the floor I haven't had the chance to see how much low the car can be lowered without rubbing the inside the wheel wells.(what you may call the wheel arches).
I have a fresh set of sticker tires that have not yet been mounted and I'm considering using Nissan 350Z wheels after seeing your video (but would need yet another set of wheel adapters since I am still using the stock hub wheel pattern).
When I used the stock front Macpherson strut assemblies the MB Wheels fit well without rubbing inside and turned full steer side to side. I'm hoping I can stay with what I currentwheels I have; otherwise, 350Z wheels it may be???
What are the dimensions of the tires on your 350Z wheels? I realize the stock Audi TT wheels are 225 in width but my 235 wide wheels have afforded me some additional challenges (before I goof with all the other aspects of an thorough AWD alignment job).
Keep me posted on the progress of your car and maybe we can share thoughts and ideas unless time doesn't permit.
Thanks a million and best of luck on the track!

Geoff Lockley Wow, once it's built, he will be the coolest kid for sure, and one of the fastest too. I see your dilema, and one that is all too familiar.
As we have time, I can address all the points on my video that I'll shoot next week, if that's ok? You queries are all super good, and I can hopefully help answer them for sure.
For now as a quick answer, I am running 225/40 NS2R semi slick tyres on the 18 x 8.5 set of 350z Rays forged wheels. These are a set of 4 rears, to keep the haldex happy, unlike normal sets which are 8s and 8.5s.
OE tyre size is 225/40 on these, so wanted to stick to that, as I think visually 18s are perfect, and if Audi put the time and effort to spec a tyre size for optimum performance, I felt that was a good place to start.

@@Mexicanfab Excellent my friend! I subscribed to your channel and look forward to your next installment. I have been photographically documenting our project. My son and I are becoming experts the hard way! Thanks for your interest in our project too. After all this is done next week I have to sort out the HALDEX that won't talk the ECU. There are not many experts on UA-cam that have left crumbs for me to troubleshoot the control module and oil pump. Like we say here in Colorado Springs, Colorado "It ain't nothin' money can't fix". Now all I've got to do is just find the money, right?
