I remember my parents used to have something just like this until I was about 9. They had this tiny little computer which was a dvd player and we would watch movies with it on long car trips. Good times.

Those little dvd players are so nostalgic, I had one when I was like 3 up to the age of 7 I think, every summer my god mother would rent dvds for me....NOSTALGIC
They are great for road trips... don't even need the DVDs anymore... can use USB, SD Card, or plug your phone in the HDMI and stream
