    Invest in the water fed pole setup and you can fly through the panel cleanings. It really makes quick work of those jobs.

      True but i feel like it's a longer setup. We will invest in some as soon as we run into a job where it is necessary. We will fir sure make the leap

      @@TymOLaughlin it's a pretty quick setup. One end of the hose pipe to the spigot, hook the other end to the DI tank, turn the knob, and start cleaning. Good luck brother!

      @@coolguy24eric you use deionized water to clean them. You can use a DI tank if you don't want to drop a large chunk on a RO system

    You need to get the Sola tecs Cleantecs C rotating Brush .. that will speed up the work drastically.

    Think yiu answered this the garden hose spray down is through the 4 stage system i assume not teg water?? Also do yiu have an auxiliary pump helping pump your water up on the roof from 4 stage system?? I assume so. Thanks . Dave Jarvis. -Denver

    Any safety precautions taken? I get that its low risk but if you're doing multiple jobs a day eventually you could fall off a roof.

      Wont even waste my time trying to convince you man. I run a company with 35 employees and we are all about safety. Safety is crucial when it comes to risky jobs like this because you might be the most talented guy on the planet but you never know what could happen to you man. A roof tile might come off or you might faint for some reason and you’d simply die falling off. That would not happen if you tied yourself to some safety bracket but hey, good luck!

    Can the solar panels get damaged if washed on very hot days?

      Yes.

      You will want to do such cleaning during the early cool morning or cool evening. Applying a cold/cool water to a hot glass can crack the glass.

      Same if you live in an area were is cold, and apply hot water to a glass, can also crack it. Take for instance pouring hot water on a frozen car windshield in the middle of winter, chances are that the windshield will crack.

      Never use any chemicals when you clean solar panels. If you use chemicals you can cause delamination and the customer will lose the warranty.

      Very risky. Solar panels are electrical units. Any water in them will fry them. Low pressure (soft wash) is what is needed.

      That's why it's important to have business insurance. I always tell my customers that I'm insured, bonded, and licensed, and it makes them feel at ease.

    How do you price washing the panels? And do you only use filtered water , no chemicals whatsoever?

      Don't ever use chemicals. I use deionized water that leaves the panels spot free. Call your local solar panel cleaning companies around you to get an average of what they are charging. I charge 150 plus for a single story. I never get on the roof for any less than 150.
