Thanks for your answers. I now wish we'd started travelling earlier. Health doesn't always treat you well, one visit to the doctor can mess up your life completely. I guess I travelled a lot in my early days for work which set the tone for travelling long distances in a day and that is something fifty plus years later, I still cannot sit in one spot for more than a few days. Sure we rent a unit on the sunshine coast or Brisbane or the Gold coast but we like to explore the little towns and villages better. Therapy. I've enjoyed your honest opinions and views on the lifestyle on a flexible budget and still having a great time. So, thanks again. Cheers.
Heading back to Tassie after Christmas and taking our Border Collie with us this time.. just did a short trip with just her (our old girl is too old now) she too has just slipped into caravan life pretty easy as well
Hi guys, thx for the Q&A it was great. We are in the planning stages hoping to get on the road in 18months. We’re planning to end up in a HD truck, but not sure which at this stage. So without knowing your current car issue situation, my question is, if you could go back in time to when you purchased your Tow Rig, would you make the same decision?
No we wouldn’t - it’s a very long explanation but we’d go a 2500 most likely. In saying that we purchased during COVID and the 1500s were all you could get in Australia due to chip issues overseas and we wanted time to build it up … we love our rig but have probably spent enough on it with GVM upgrades etc that we could have bought a 2500!
Hey Mark, thanks for the feedback. The app called TravelSpend - it has an annual subscription of $12.99. I use it religiously and rate it. It would even be good to use when you’re not travelling to get a good understanding of your regular living expenses. Thanks for messaging us and for watching. Good luck with your planning and preparation - it’s so worth it!
Hi guys just discovered your channel and currently binge watching to catch up. Have a question if you don’t mind. What is the name of the App that you used for your budget. We too have taken early retirement for the very reason you mentioned, we have spent our entire working life as paramedics and police officers and have seen on a daily basis how life can be cut short. We are currently in the process of getting our Zone Sojourn and plan on hitting the road next year. Keep the great vids coming
Hi guys. We just watched that and kept saying we think the same- it was a great episode. Who the hell would invite someone back to their house for coffee- I would because like you just be nice just be friendly. And then you mentioned me- Thankyou !!!!! Now that’s funny. I have told that story often. Hope you get the car sorted soon and get back out there. Look forward to your future adventures. Best wishes Richard & Michelle.
That is hilarious!!!! We too have told the story often!!!! How strange are we all!? Anyway you were awesome, so friendly and we really enjoyed our coffee with you!
There really aren’t that many free camp options - also safety, access to town/mechanics and the size of our rig means it’s not possible to “stealth” camp!
@@Oursaltylife Back in my Army days we were in convoys of up 8 trucks 16 hours on the road. We just pulled up on the side of the road and camped under our trucks in our swags. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s so good watching them enjoy the travel life isn’t it?
Fabulous 👌
Some good tips
For when we take our lives on the road
We are planning to pick up work along the way
Thankyou
People have told us that there’s plenty of work available along the way. Its seems the more remote you go the harder it is to get staff. Good luck!
Good honest q and a about your trip 👌
Thanks for that! We're very happy to share - that's how we learnt before we hit the road.

thanks, yer we’ll be going 2500 for all the reasons you mentioned. Would you consider other HD manufacturers? Or stick with your current.
Hi new to the channel, excellent video as we prepare to retire in December. What was the budget app you showed in the video please? Safe travels Mark

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a new diff fitted In wa 👍
Maybe but there were lots of factors for us to consider and given that RACV would tow anywhere we decided we were best to spend the time at home.
Hey, I just saw your car on the back of a truck, just out of the border village 👍
Cheers thanks for the update glad it’s all n the move again it was sitting in Perth for a while
Why didn't you camp on the side of the road, no cost,?
