It should be about 1.5g per Liter, but you could probably go up to about 10g per Liter. You don't need an exact ratio, I'd probably go for around 2 grams per liter.
You don't show removing the straw from the tub or the drying process, do you do anything to rinse the straw out or to balance the ph somehow before using it? This was filmed two years ago, did you succeed in the growth of these mushrooms?
@@nolanfoster6782 you could put it in the compost bin too, but I am not sure if it would help it or hurt it. Worst case scenario the compost takes longer to finalize. Best case is compost that will help neutralize the soil.
I've never heard of that. It may be because it is more nutritious and would be easier for contamination to thrive, or it is dense enough that the lime doesn't penetrate to the center.

I believe there’s no need to rinse, since most of it is water during the process

I would guess that grass would break down too much.
@@mookie2000mhhs would work with steam pasteurization or autoclave right?
@@robertimmanuel577 yes
Based on my experience. Weed straw can be used.
What do you do with the lime water when done?
Poured it out in the yard. Most soil is acidic anyway, plus the next rain would dilute it pretty fast.

Can you Lime pasteurize grain substrate?
I've never heard of that. It may be because it is more nutritious and would be easier for contamination to thrive, or it is dense enough that the lime doesn't penetrate to the center.
You can boil brown rice (not completely cooked about 7 minutes) drain rinse with fresh boiling water and use it like grain spawn 😊
