I was told my forefathers were from this region in India. 140 years ago they were taken to British Guiana (now Guyana) I am saddened to see the plight of these people remains the same as it probably was 140 years ago when my forefathers left India. I implore the Government, the wealthy, Indian celebrities, anyone who can assist these people especially the innocent children to find compassion in their hearts to help. The world is watching.
@ Ramona Shaw, our forefathers sacrificed and sailed that 'kala pani' and we sure have a better life in Guyana and Trinidad. Looking at all the videos, it is as though it is 1845 when the batch of lndians left for Trinidad. Nothing seemed to have changed.

Several huts are made by timber and grass. Villager uses timber for cooking food. Paths are not wel.Everywhere mud is spread due to monsoon.A female villager works at her hut by using waste of cattle. In short I have seen presentation of poverty here. Government should take care.

Today the poor people who live in the rural villages are having a hard life. They have to undergo severe and several hardship to run their family. They have to work early morning till evening to bring food for their living. There is nothing called rest for them.
Education for the poor children is not that much easy. They have to walk distance to attend school. Purchasing school books, and school dresses are not that much easy for them. Their life is almost a disaster in many ways. They will never have enough money to buy what they want. Their only solution is to manage from what they.
They live in the huts, no electricity, no enjoyable events, no entertainments, no peace, and no proper food. At times they use to have one meal a day and stay in hunger for the rest.
The poor people who live in huts usually goes to bed early in the night, then wake up early morning before the sun rise.
They undergo with many difficulties in life. Starvation, no proper health facilities, no proper education for the school going children, no happiness, no peace and many other negative things are there for them.
When I see these things, I think as to why I was born and living better than them? I too must have had a hard life like as the poor people. I too must have had starvation like these poor people and must have had a hard life.
Each and every member in the poor family work alone and hard to overcome their problems. Moreover they are United and work together without any hesitations or bad thoughts. They themselves work hard even without any assistance or dependence.
Poor people have good feelings, good thinking, good hearts and good attitudes. They live with what they have, they survive with what they have, they manage with what they have, they tolerate with what they have and they run their lives with what they have. They manage their needs in whatever way they can and that's the only solution they have.
I felt really sorry for these people. No one cares them, no one helps them. They struggle in their life and then passes away in pains where none admits their pains.
Being a poor is better than becoming a rich.
My heart is with the poor people.

Here we see lack of social progress, Ecnomic growth cant help this people but the govt intervention for social progress could be help full. Infrastructure development must be in villages too. They too deserve best roads, water connectiom homes etc.. Kerala state govt formed life mission project and constructing homes to poor,even with that the aim is not completed yet.
