    I have been a professional staff member within HE in the US for over 15 years and am finishing up my doctorate next spring. While I am no spring chicken I am preparing for my first faculty interview and this video has just energized me! What an incredible asset! Thanks so much.

    Update-Update! It took a bit longer than they thought, and I followed up when I found out I’m getting published internationally for the 2nd time--they emailed today and offered me the position! **I wouldn’t have it if it wasn’t for you, Tara. Blessings and all good health to you for sharing these things with us! 🙏🏽🤲🏽🌽
    Update: I’ve just had another academic interview ( not sure how many this makes) but I came back and watched this again, took notes, wrote them out in an easy-to-read cheat sheet with your explanation of what they wanted, then went back to their website and read extensively (about 3 times), downloaded-printed-and referred to their document on expectations for teaching staff, wrote down the names of the degrees at the small satellite campus where I’ll be working if I get the position, and then printed out a list of my 5 questions with room to take notes underneath each.
    One of my questions came from another video of yours: I asked if the part-time teaching staff is expected to help with grant seeking (to help potential grantors understand what an excellent investment the college would be for their resources).
    I thought it went very well. I’ll know Friday. They have one other person to interview for the position. 🤞🏽🙏🏽
    Thank you for these invaluable videos, @Office of Graduate Research Flinders University.
    They asked me all 12 questions on their form, and a few others that came to mind, and the Zoom interview took a full hour.

    I have a teaching demo and interview tomorrow. A few months back, I watched your videos while waiting for my grad school admissions results. I got in. I hope I do well tomorrow. I have a horde of hornets in my stomach.

    Ah, I see where I could have answered better. Great points. I’ll have to rewatch and take notes (it’s right before bedtime, here).

    I have an interview tomorrow and came across this blog and it was so helpful. I will be preparing today using this. I still cant believe the question that the VC asked! I love how you have structured the interview, and also given the last question which I always struggle with about having any question about the institution. :) That was so helpful! I will keep you posted :)

    Tara. I’ve just got my MA in Education with Social Justice (merit). I’m applying for my dream job at Marjon Uni in the Uk. For interview
    School of Teacher Education:
    Please prepare a 10 minute presentation on the following:
    ‘Provide three examples of how you would work with trainee teachers to develop their subject and pedagogical knowledge during their primary ITT programme.’
    You will have an additional 5 minutes to respond to any questions from the panel.

    Hi Tara, I am not sure if I mistake your sample question about bringing research insights to teaching.
    Is this question intent to ask how the interviewees make a connection between teaching and the insights into important issues through reseaerch, or actually the sense of conducting research for teaching?

    • @TaraBrabazonLegacyContent
      @TaraBrabazonLegacyContent  3 роки тому +1

      Both YiLong - great question. The question asks how you bring your research into your teaching. That's a great answer. Then - even better - explain the research that emerges from your teaching. I did a later session on SoTL if that is useful. Biggest hug. t xxx
