It’s a mad car, I’ve owned one since September. Bought it for my 60th!
A while ago only worked as an Audi car dealership. We had the new s3 and RS3 delivered. The s3 just feels like a golf r but having that one extra cylinder in the rs3 makes all the difference !!!! !!!!!
IMO there’s no point spending another 10k on an RS3 when the S3 is perfect
Have you driven an S3 ? Have you driven an RS3 ? If you had you would know that definitely 10k is worth it.

stefan hulme tbf I haven’t driven an RS3 but I have an S3 and I don’t feel like I need any upgrade as it feels amazing. I love it but yeah just my opinion
lunarshteve fair enough but I love my S3 and don’t feel like I need to spend more money and upgrade it but yeah just my opinion. Also as mine S3 is Stage 1 so it’s rapid enough haha

Christ, he doesn't half yak, born to be a car salesman.
Wheel spin at low rpm is a sign of a shit map. Loads of low end torque which makes it feel quick but loses power top end. All that does is kill the clutch
Birmingham racing Toyota did a good job on the map of my Auris D4d 130 then because it’s alright untill 2,400rpm then it pulls hard however it still wheelspins because the previous owner decided to fit Grenlander tyres 🤦🏻♂️ and some Nerus to the rear lol

My personal preference is S3. But it has to be the saloon. There a great looking car and I'm sorta same build as you, 6'4 and 19 stone. So I need a car I can stretch out in. The 3dr's are far too cramped for me.
I have a 3 door and it's okay for me 6"6 22 stone 🤣 it's just only amputees can sit behind me

The Golf R would be all the car you could ever need, if it didn’t look like the 1.6 TDI your mum drives. It looks a little better with the correct number of doors(3) but it’s still a dull looking thing.
I’m more of an Audi fan, I have an S5 and love it.
Golf's are ugly, only done up GTI MK6's look pretty good, the rest look aids. The S3 and Cupra's are great

it's better than the golf r in terms of luxuries but anything else it's the same engine chassis
I had a stage 2 s3 but sold it and got a golf R
Yes they have the same engine and chassis however they drive like 2 completely different cars but the way the golf R is tuned is a lot more racy and the R is more aggressive in terms of shifting and handling
The s3 is a lot softer and less engaging to drive

@@quicktwo393 I agree with you that’s why I removed mine, however also the s3 has it just with a different tone. But both cars are very different. S3 is more for chilled driving rather than the R which is more responsive.

owning both an S3 and a 435d, the 435d is a better daily driver in my opinion. The s3 is a more of a petrolhead car and more fun to drive because it’s a 2.0 petrol.
WVYYS. i own a 335d e92 remapped to 370bhp and was thinking of changing to a s3. i see you own both, what is the performance difference between them both over 90mph the 335d is ridicolousy fast is the s3 as quick?

Quality video as always calvin however I think that comparing this to an M3 is a bad comparison considering a rear wheel drive car will never put the power down aswell as an all wheel drive car however on the track an M3 would eat it alive just my opinion 👌
And turbo cars give a false impression of speed.

But the S3 didn’t feel as aggressive as a an R
the S3 is a lot softer to drive so handles worst than the R and is a lot more silent you don’t even feel like you’re speeding when you go full throttle
They do have the same engine but the chassis have been tuned differently so the R is more aggressive in the way it drives also the Rs transmission has shorter gear ratio so it does feel quicker and more fun to drive
Try both and see which one you prefer
Was gonna tune a 2020 Honda Accord but tuning an s3 sounds way better and more my size. Ive been driving a 13 civic for like 6 years now. They have the same exact dimensions. The rs3 is way out of my price range but we can make an s3 happen no problem!nn

I know you say the interior i nice an by all means I dont disagree...However the golf was/is already inline with what the next generation A3/s3/rs3 will be which is most probably amongst the lines of the new generation A1.... You can't even compare the infotainment as its night and day with the touch screen...and with most things revolving amongst CarPlay and android auto as far as this goes, it really makes the current audi a/s/rs3 range really and i mean really ancient since vw have had this system for much longer and can even be retrofitted into older vw generations.
I think the R has a much better looking interior. Audi is to plain, on the inside, wins on the exterior.

It can’t be stage one as pops and bangs only come on a stage 2 on 2014 range of check if it’s got a decat I wouldn’t be surprised if it does if it has pops and bangs on it and check the inter cooler

Also, S3 looks like it was either involved in an accident, or had bob the kwik fit mechanic working on it. That and the shot rear diff, driven like a chavmobile, I see lots of those regularly.

hi Calvin.have you ever had any 335d e92 2007? i got one,after month of owning both turbos suddenly died one day cost me 1200 to recondition lol n now it says warranty invalid will be if i remap it,...hehe...must be that remap can cause some damage to turbos then aswell

So buying a S3 and a stage 1 remap, is going a good choice over a Rs3 and save quite a bit of money on purchase price between the two.
mark payne just comes to reselling the car, many people will be put off knowing it’s been remapped
I know you're talking about the S3 but I've owned a Golf R and now own a facelift RS3 it is a different animal. Don't know about the pre facelift RS3 though.
Its 2.5 engine what makes the rs3 special, sounds absolute beast
Rs3 has a 2.5 litre so you will always be able to get more power out of the bigger engine 500bhp is a standard map on a rs3 and 450bhp for a rs3 is peanuts
Sorry but theirs no substitute for an RS3, trust me I’ve had all except an S3 as it’s basically a Golf R anyway.

S3 looks good but just not as sporty looking as the R to me , mines tornado red too . I even prefer the R interior to this and I’ve owned an S5 to compare.
You could say that about any car though , an mi40i , a45 without the aero kit look like the standard models to most people . Anyway , I buy the car for the engine not to try look cool to people I don’t even know. I like the interior on my R just as much as my S5

Adam the factory standard seats of the S3 are awful looking, the super sports make the car feel more special

The S3's are actually quicker than a Golf R..(saw a drag with an A45, Golf R, M140 + S3).. I thought they were the same myself, but for some reason they're quicker...

I'VE GOT A 19 PLATE S3 SPORTBACK AND THOUGHT ABOUT MAPPING IT UNTIL I READ ABOUT ONE GOING BANG AFTER A MAP . 18K FOR A NEW ENGINE AS AUDI DON'T DO REBUILDS .
Get a safe tune and you won’t blow anything up lol, go to a good respected tuner like VRS
Tdi tune box or race chip tune box both are 100% reliable
Get a map from a reputable tuner and there is very little chance of any issue. Don’t get a box, they are just manipulating the signals between the fuel pressure sensor, MAP sensors etc and the ECU.
You always hear about the one that goes wrong. The amount of Golf R’s and S3’s with a stage 1 map and you hear about one here and there. Quite a few cars with TTE 525 and Turbo Technics turbos running 500+bhp on stock internals. The EA888 engine is pretty robust.

S3 has better dash/door cards etc, but the seats sit way to high Vs mk7 Golf R Seats.
I think instead of comparing the good n the Audi id be comparing what you can buy for 15k I reckon I’d rather spend 15k on a e9x m3 or a b7 rs4! More care for your money.
